    Great video as usual. I’m getting a Platinum in a month or so. I do 4-6 week trip towing my 2.3t (200kg ballweight) a few times a year.
    Can I just get the new 300kg rear springs as you have or should I go airbags? I don’t do any off-road stuff. Would I also have to change the rear shockers?
    Thanks for the vids and all the best for you and your family

    • @4x4extrasoffroading
      @4x4extrasoffroading ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you fit the 0 to 300kg rears this will raise the back by 2 inches. Would increase the rake too much. Longer shocks would also be recommended, a lighter pack would raise rear 40mm. If you don't plan on adding much weight then rear assist would be a good option. Air bags, load plus helpers. If you have some weight constant then adding another leaf to your factory pack would also be a good option.

    I did a 30 lift on my landcruiser and blew both CV,s in the first week. Had to drop the diff and fit new torsion bars, new CV,s etc. Hope this doesn’t happen to you. Being a bit spooked by that I have fitted polyair airbags to my Next Gen Ranger. They are blue tooth controlled and automatic to a degree. So far awesome towing, I can adjust as I drive.

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yikes 😬 That would spook me too mate.. For this one, the lift is pretty moderate and Cv angle looks ok, so not expecting any issues (touch 🪵). Ran very similar lift in my Pajero Sport and it lived a tough life 😂

    Mark, I have the same car and am looking at the same suspension mod and tow a 2.7 ton caravan. Can you do a video on how it tows with the Ironman suspension please?

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G’day Mal. Can certainly touch on the towing on an upcoming trip.
      In case you’re looking to purchase soon, yes I’m very happy with the towing performance. 0-300kg rear springs should be good based on your weight above if you don’t have too much weight in the tray. If unsure, reach out to Shaun at 4x4 extras and he can help to talk you though all the options.
      I’ve found towing is very smooth on the suspension, not bouncy and now I’m off the bump stops towing (compared to this being an issue on the stock suspension).
      The only thing I’ve noticed with the Ranger is the towball sits lower than my last 4WD - and as my caravan is running bigger tyres, I was looking for options how to make it sit a bit more level. Airbags isn’t an opinion for me as this is not allowed as part of the engineering process I’ve gone through.
      I have since added an ARB rear bar for extra rear protection and the Towbar tongue now actually sits higher than the standard bumper which is a bonus. Your van may be lower and this may not be an issue for you anyway.
      Hope that helps in the meantime.
      Cheers Mark

      @Perth4WDandCamping  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate. I’ve measured the overall figures with the engineering process, which I’ll cover off next. Eyebrow measurements after the lift are front 580mm (OEM 545mm) and rear 635mm (OEM 597mm). Obviously the true height gain has been achieved via the bigger tyres

    • @Perth4WDandCamping
      @Perth4WDandCamping  ปีที่แล้ว

      No vibrations mate. That must be annoying and I would definitely take that to ARB and make sure they fix - especially given the expensive price tag. The Ironman one has a centre baring spacer.

    • @gregjacques3159
      @gregjacques3159 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was considering the BP51 suspension. That's disappointing whi h ARB stop did you go to. I had some work done at the one in Welshpool and was less than impressed. I had an air bag system installed and they charged an arm and leg then used cheap quick air connections then it keeps leaking they said that nothing could be done as that's how it is. I fitted some proper brass nuts and olive fittings and had no more problems.

    I have a question for you 4x4 industry experts! (and I wonder if you can tell me if it's true that the ironman nitro gas shocks match well with the original setup and can be retrofitted with the +5? I have a suzuki jimny 4x4 with m13a 1.3 l gas engine with shock absorbers and standard settings, yesterday afternoon I bought the new ironman nitro gas shock absorbers and the 4x4 spare parts dealer in Florence told me that these ironman nitro gas shock absorbers are suitable for 4x4 off-road vehicles with original finish or in a second you could put the springs higher and it would become a +5 high finish, is that true? @VANDETA82 hi mate. Really sorry to hear you’re having issues!
      Unsure of what you’ve already looked into but from what I understand you can get vibration if the centre bearing spacer needs adjustment or the rear is sitting too high - ie running heavy rear springs with not enough load. If the lift is too high also this can impact the way the car drives.
