  • I bought a Berg & Schmid Compact 250 about a year ago.
I got it without a switch on the lever, no plug on it with the statement "runs the wrong direction" and the whole thing built on an absolutely wobbly wooden board, where a wheel was already missing anyway.
It came as it had to come: After I had provisionally put the saw into operation, she has canceled the sails after the exhaust construction of another project. Loud bang and smoke, ooof, that is gonna be expensive.
So I started to disassemble the saw. The lid for the oil out: None more inside. O-ring leaking, ball bearing finished, and a burned connection of the winding, because there was oil on it. It also had to be stripped of paint, which was once unprofessionally sprayed with blue.
Lets do it: Rotor pulled, new radial shaft seals reingebaut (is probably quite handy that one has slide hammer and co from the car screws), new ball bearings on it. Then all the missing parts reconstructed and printed, because they were all broken, someone has probably already knocked over.
At the electric box put in a main switch, the safety device with switch-on button made again working on it (by the way, is a killswitch button from the motorcycle). A new motor fan wheel cover was added, so it can be left as it is now.
Then of course repainted, RAL 7016, which I find universal and gets everything I currently touch. Brantho Korux 3in1, let's see how that proves itself.
Last but not least, I saved the oil sight glass. From an old lifting platform milled an adapter in which the sight glass can be inserted. Knurled at the same time, so that it is easier for the next oil change.
