    I’ve been doing VCT since 1978, hard work is an understatement but you can slow down a little if you need to and find more ways to make the work a little easier. My last job was 3800.00 and took 3 full days so it is rewarding.

    We're finally back ladies and gents! Sorry it's been a minute. This videos a little different but shows another kind of common job we do, especially this time of year. Enjoy!

    What type of pad for the edges? Trying to restore an older VCT in a once (now corrected) humid environment. We have a thick yellow residue on the edges and is killing my hours.

    My question is how do you prevent the liquid from going into other areas that you dont want to get into such as hospitals that operate 24/7

    • @williamlloyd7281
      @williamlloyd7281 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like all liquids, they tend to crawl into other areas based off volume and floor tension. You can reduce floor tension by scrubbing the floor very well. This will create more control with your liquids or plastics. Always have a shop vac or autos rubber on you for accidents.

    Do you guys move whatever is in the way? Or do you request they move everything before you start?

    • @mcox64870
      @mcox64870  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We normally request they move everything for us. It would require so much more time and labor to move everything ourselves and these kind of jobs are very physically demanding as it is.

      Do a lot of research. I have several facebook groups I'm a part of and I've learned a lot from them over the years. Get you a good 175 floor scrubber as one of your first pieces of equipment. They're such versatile machines and they last forever if you get a good brand. Best of luck to you!

    Michael what do you do with used stripper? Neutralize it and put it in the sewer?

    • @mcox64870
      @mcox64870  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry for the late reply! Local laws generally state that all slurry must be poured into a sewer system (aka the toilet) and not exterior drains. That way the chemicals can be neutralized and treated properly by the city and not seep into the soil. I used BETCO Extreme floor stripper and you don't have to neutralize it.

    Do you use water to rinse after or do you use vinegar ?

    • @AKFloorcare
      @AKFloorcare 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I’ve been waxing the floors for 15 years never heard of using vinegar. You would be fine with just water. You definitely want to rent it thoroughly even after vacuuming up the stripper.

    What's the defoamer? What's it for?

    • @williamlloyd7281
      @williamlloyd7281 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To keep suds down when you retrieve fluids into your machine. Sometimes the suds will overload the reservoir of retrieved liquids by 60%. If those suds get into the vacuum.. it’s not good and can cause a lot of damage.
