  • Doing a chemical free floor stripping. Also reapplying wax to floors as well using the bucket system. Here is a link to another vid I did using the square scrubber. • Vct Training stripping... . Also here is a link to my facebook group. www.facebook.c... I have been a custodian for over 20 years. The purpose of this channel is to share some of my knowledge with you. I remember the feeling when I first became a custodian. I was given a set of keys, a radio and a badge. Didn't get any training whatsoever. Being a custodian is not rocket scientist knowledge. There are definitely things that a custodian needs to know. I call it the art of the trade. Tips and tricks that can make the job much easier and enjoyable. Find me at @mrjeffthecustodian

    Nice! Real nice! I’m working with an old crew that only believes in wet removal of wax, using stripper and mopping up the stuff. Along with using a wet vacuum. Lots of work as you know. I have asked them to try the square scrub method… no way they said. 🫤 honestly I would love to try it. I think it would be much better.

  • @EivinSukoi
    @EivinSukoi 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Two things I noticed , one you are using what looks like a cotton mop head that will leave cotton fuzz in wax , and two poor rinsed out floors with visible mop steaks and debris before laying your wax . For personal experience after stripping floors and letting dry , I vacuum the entire floor with a back pack vacuum making sure that nothing is on the them before applying wax .

    Dumb question, what do you mean by taking 3 coats off and 3 coats on. Is that running the square machine three times and then mopping three coats on? Sorry new to this.

    • @mrjeffthecustodian
      @mrjeffthecustodian  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No dumb questions here. The square will take anywhere from 2 or 3 coats of wax off in one pass. Then apply 3 fresh coats of wax.

    Floors look great but one issue...why did you wax the baseboards?
    Are you stripping the baseboards as well?
    Going into my 34th year...

    • @mrjeffthecustodian
      @mrjeffthecustodian  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The machine I use takes the wax off the base boards. I don’t wax base boards all the way up. Just the part next to the floor. Nothing more ugly than yellowed base boards.

    • @mrjeffthecustodian
      @mrjeffthecustodian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used a 3m maroon pad on the square. When. I wet strip I use black or a scrub brush. On r slow speed round machine.

    How many square feet can you do per hour scrubbing with the square machine and following up with the auto scrubber?

    • @mrjeffthecustodian
      @mrjeffthecustodian  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Around 2000 if it’s class rooms even more on open halls. Take in factor that some people don’t move as fast as others. I really have to slow myself down with square. I can get in the grove and be to fast for it to remove wax like it should.
