The e grand inquisitor used to be a Jedi temple guard, so interesting that he was involved in arresting bariss, then training her.

Both your expressions when Barriss got impaled was priceless, another reason I enjoy your reactions. Offee Barriss was right all along about the war, she knew the Jedi council was being played but didn’t understand the depth of the deception. I might be wrong but it seams to me the third season of the Bad Batch and the Barriss arch, the story is leading up to a series about the Hidden Path rescuing force sensitive children and that would be AWESOME!!!

Good reaction, as always, you 2. Ladies, I think these particular 3 Barriss Offee-focused shorts may be Dave Filoni and his Team's way of giving Us an entree to an Animated series telling stories of The Hidden Path. Most likely, Barriss Offee and Lyn Rakish will be some of the main characters. I hope this comes to pass. May The Force Be With You...

Which explains why We never saw her in SW: Rebels, fighting for either side. Instead, she's become a pacifist Force Shaman. Most likely, she sends Force-sensitive children (and others victimized by The Empire) to the secret network, The (Hidden) Path.

1:33 She didn't want the jedi's destruction I don't think. She had fair points against the jedi's behavior at that time (with her saying "the jedi lost their way" at the trail) but went about it the wrong way. Generation Tech has made a video about her for example which I think sums it up pretty well.

Barriss didn't want to destroy the Jedi; she wanted to end the violence they were perpetrating. Unfortunately, Luminara was her master so they had identical logic:
    - Ignore emotions (Ignoring attachment to the Order and Ahsoka)
    - Focus on realities (The Order is a broken and corrupt institution)
    - Fight evil at all costs (I'll sacrifice everything to prove my point and bring about change)
The problem with this character was that she couldn't let go. Ahsoka simply left the Order, but Barriss couldn't make that decision. Just like Luminara had to fight at all costs, this is extremism.
However, in the season 5, if we analys what Barriss says and her expression, it's evident that she literally feels ashamed and regrets what she did. The issue is that she can't let go and continues, making the situation even worse.
She never was not an evil person, just a naive, lost child who believed that she can change the Order.
And as for her death, half of the fandom doesn't believe it. Moreover, if it turns out to be true, it would be disrespectful, especially considering that Ventress, despite dying in a canonical book, returned. That's called favoritism, and I won't accept something like that.

@@RemoteRebels Believe me, I also hated Barriss when I first watched season 5. It was just personal. It wasn't until the third time that I did an analysis and really started to sympathize and feel for this character.
In my opinion Barriss is one of the most complex characters. The voice actress even called Barriss a Force of Nature because she is both a calm pacifist and a terrorist. She can be helpful and destructive.

The Grand Inquisitor was the title adopted by a Pau'an male Jedi Knight who turned to the dark side of the Force and became the leader of the Inquisitorius, a band of Jedi hunters who served the Galactic Empire. The Grand Inquisitor was once a Jedi Temple Guard and was involved in the events surrounding the bombing of the Jedi Temple during the Clone Wars, arresting the innocent and later exonerated Padawan Ahsoka Tano as well as the true culprit, Barriss Offee. After his fall to the dark side, the Grand Inquisitor was responsible for hunting down and eliminating Jedi during the Great Jedi Purge. Selected by the Emperor, Darth Sidious himself, for the position of Grand Inquisitor, he personally served the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, from whom he received his orders. Throughout his tenure he proved to be one of the regime's most proficient tools in eradicating the last of the Jedi Order, being intimately familiar with the records of the Jedi Temple.

Sorry (kinda) ahead of time for the long comment, but like laying it all out.
Episode 4: Such a good episode! Interesting to see this kind of recruiting for the Inquisitors, rather than torturing like Trilla Suduri/Second Sister, then again others willingly joined like the Grand Inquisitor, etc. I wonder if Barriss ever had to go through Vader's "training" which caused mutilation (like 5th & 6th Brother and 7th & 9th Sister). Also the black armor of those clones seem to be the phase 0 armor of the purge troopers.
Episode 5: Very good episode! You'd think I'd be numb to the callous depravity of dark siders by now, but I guess I'm not (guess that's a good thing). That poor kid is so traumatized now. I wonder what the ultimate fate of that Jedi is? I've got no problem with more Jedi survivors in Canon, because just like the old Legends/EU continuity those Jedi couldn't stop Vader and Sidious, they weren't powerful enough. Luke was powerful enough and the only one (besides Leia) to be a key to Vader's future (rather than just a reminder of his past). Those other Jedi were never going to be massive players, sure they could cause ripples, but they weren't the tsunami.
Episode 6: I liked this story, but I'm still left wanting about the ending. Not whining about it, though I want a closed conclusion rather than an open end when it comes to Barriss' and the Fourth Sister's fate. But I really am proud of how Barriss changed, I just wish she didn't do what she did and then pin it on Ahsoka. I will always love how Star Wars in both the Canon and Legends/EU continuities is a redemption story. Guess my faith plays a part in that, I'm a Christian, so it’s a fundamental part of me to believe that people can be redeemed, but only if they choose to be.

Barris Offe "ages faster because when healing, like every Force healer, he uses his own life/body power. Something similar happened with Obi-wan Kenobi on Tatooine, because that planet has two suns, people age faster.

    • @hehu4025
      @hehu4025 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's not true
Force Heal doesn't mean you're transferring your life energy. The Healer becomes a conduit for the Force passing through them to heal wounds. But yes excessive use could potentially trigger such an effect. (I remember some story where Luminara saw Barriss had one gray hair and immediately she was banned from healing and fighting at the front.) Every Force ability can have negative effects..
If it were taking life force, logically Barriss would already be half-dead, which doesn't make sense at all.
Life Force is always the same; it's either there or it's not (there's no numerical value for life force and it cannot be divided and transferred). Let's take Padme for example. When she was a child, she had the same life force as in Revenge of the Sith. It wasn't until she died that the Life Force completely vanished. The same goes for Anakin; when he was alive, there was life force within him, but when he died, the life force vanished.
The life force doesn't diminish with age
Or it happens much later and the Lyn's race ages differently. It doesn't have to be 10 years later. It could even be after Rebels or even later. Not every Inquisitor hunted Kanan and Ezra.

So this segment to do with Bariss answered a lot of questions and also left us with a glaring question, is Bariss dead? I’mthinking not, hopefully Lyn Rakish (formally the fourth sister of the inquisitorious) healed Bariss’ wounds.
The reason she looks like she’s aged is because she’s been using the force heal ability first seen in the rise of skywalker when Rey heals Ben.
It was great to see the initiation process for the Inquisitorious, even though this is an elaborated in the novel rise of the red Blade.
my only disappointment was that we didn’t get to see Vader V Bariss.
Ultimately, I can’t see Dave wanting to kill the character off, especially if he wants to bring Bariss into live action to see her and Ahsoka come face-to-face, hopefully with apologies, forgiveness and healing.
I mean, it would be the perfect redemption story if they wanted to do something that was very full circle.
I mean if Bariss realises extremely quickly that she made the wrong choice and joining the Inquisitorious, she can make peace with Ahsoka and ask for forgiveness.
The last time we see Bariss is the finale of TCW S5.
When we see her at the start of her arc in tales of the Empire, she’s just felt order 66.
Bariss ends up at the inquisitors base of operation where they have their own circle jerk council reminiscent (from a certain point of view) of the Sith Council of the old Republic prior to the rule of two.
One of the inquisitors Ahsoka killed in tales of the Jedi and then there’s Marrock from the Ahsoka series.
