Gun safety in the United States:
"Remember, keep your finger off the trigger if you are not ready to kill!"
    Gun safety in the USSR:
**Points RPK into your eye** "Can you see how smooth the rifling is?"

    Translator: *translates*
    Kalashnikov: "...Da..."

to be fair it's significantly less loud when shooting outside vs an indoor range.

It's not the translator's fault Mr Kalashnikov never let's him finish his sentence.

@BrandonHerrera, this whole series is totally worth some review and maybe some better translation if you have any Russian friends.

I’ve enjoyed shooting my semi auto Arsenal AKS-74. Too bad all the surplus ammo has dried up.

The way the soldier at 49.00 is flinching, I don't think that fiddling with the sights is going to help much.

The PKM beats the MG 42, M60 and M240 in my opinion. Way lighter and just as durable, if not more durable and reliable.

Мне кажется что там именно основание из пластмассы(какая-то часть пятки), по крайней мере куда Калашников показывал

"The extent to which the Sturmgewehr influenced the development of the AK-47 is not clearly known. Apart from external layout similarity and the gas-operation principle, the AK-47 was not a copy of the German gun because the AK-47 used a very different mechanism. However, tens of thousands of Sturmgewehrs were captured by the Soviets and some were more than likely provided to Kalashnikov and his team."

If it had a slight redesign for optics, a front handguard/rails and used disintegrating links or 3-5 rd links it would be incredible even today! Definitely the best gpm of its day, the m60 e4-e6 (basically pretty modern redesigns) is the only comparable equivalent, the m60 took 40 years to be as employable (durability/lightweight/reliable) as a year one PKM 🤦‍♂️ I do wish it would've had a front handguard/heatshield from day one, which would've prompted even lighter and shorter versions over time 😍
