4:04 the instructor says: "You are now responsible for a person, standing in front of you". The interpreter says:"You now depend on a person, standing behind you". A slight error in the translation, but the mindset the instructor is trying to put them in is somehow lost. It's like "it's your responsibility" in one case, calling for awareness and "you depend on someone", a passive message, that would make people think about people behind them, rather than focusing them on their muzzle control and safety. I guess a lot of stuff gets lost in translation like this

The russian guy had military training. He makes u face the target really front on so incase u get shot ur plates take the bullet and not the side of your body where there is no protection.

Seriously we need to just get everyone together, Russians and Westerners, and have a big festival, share experiences, see each other’s way of doing things! Then we would probably get along really well!!!
The "Russians" aren't the bad guys they're made out to be. Sure there are some very dubious people, like anywhere else in the world, but they don't hate the "west". They just don't appreciate people from other countries telling them how to run things. If you're on the good side of most Russians (I've dealt with), you have a friend for life.
It's interesting, my family has Eastern European roots and military service history, Serbian + Hungarian. I'm extremely fimiliar and comfortable with the akm veriants in use today. "babushka" или бабка, это часть мишени ipsc за пределами альфы. "babushka"- or babka, is often referred to as a part of ipsc target not including alpha, in russian shooter terminology. (u miss alpha- u hit babka)
Initially it was referring to a no-shoot targets as they usually cover the real target just as the bad guy hiding behind the hostage. So basically babushka is a hostage, cause under no condition you can shoot your grandmother. Later it spreaded to any zone you dont want to hit, thus if you miss the target`s alpha - you hit the hostage.

I trained with Dima when him and Fred arrived to Las Vegas. I thought I knew my AKM, but I was absolutely wrong. It’s one thing to be shooting at a range to test out a gun, but it’s a new ball game with training courses and see what our rifles are capable of. Fatigue really kicked me around and the weight of the 7.62x39 adds up, while it’s not as bad with AKs in 5.56 & 5.45. Still, if Dima returns, I’ll gladly sign up again.
4th_Survivor1990 Do the smaller rounds actually weigh more?? Or is there something I’m missing? I’ve got no experience with AK pattern guns outside the 7.62x39 realm
4th_Survivor1990 I wouldn’t have thought so, but you said the weight of the x39 wasn’t as bad as 5.45 or 5.56. Didn’t know if there was a difference between the platforms. Possibly milled versus stamped receivers or something
BlakeW5 From receivers to calibers, accessories and even weight of the mags. I like using the old school com bloc mags, but I like using polymer mags as they’re lighter . Gen 3 Pmags, Xtechs and circle 10s are what I use and they work just as good without the weight of the com blocs.
4th_Survivor1990 Gotcha, makes sense. I run tapcos (🤮) in mine but they were all that were widely available alternatives at the time lol. My interest in 5.45 evaporated with the supply the cheap Russian ammo, so I haven’t kept up with it.
For all the arguing about AR vs AK accuracy, both guns are combat accurate so the guy who shoots *first* is more likely to go home alive. That could be because you have superior reflexes and skill, or maybe because your gun didn't jam like an AR.
Imo from what I've seen its less about which is more accurate and more which is an enjoyable experience firing. If AK's were built not so grotesquely to just shove the recoil directly into the arm. I think a lot more people would enjoy the AK. Its a unfortunate fact that most gun owners and gun users don't have a triceps the size of ones thigh. 😅

I love Russians! I love the rivalry we have between each other it is what make both of our countries so Great !! You have to compete against greatness to be great yourself and for America our rivalry with Russia is what makes us Great !
Security is a really important aspect. At our firing range, there was a case when a submachine gun jammed at a not-so-smart soldier and he simply turned 180, directing the barrel in our direction. The old cartridge often shoots with a delay.
I remember my first shooting in army. The sergeant said: "If you turn the gun to the side, from the firing line, you will get frozen army boots in your faces."
Respect to a real Russian operator. I like the AK but am an AR guy because that is all I have been trained on. I never served as an operator, so never had a chance to use an AK. I really never thought about AK, not from lack of respect but just normal everyday life issues. Love your channel. I have always carried concealed when I got out of the Army in ‘90. I am just now getting more into firearms again.
Russian: you have to provide cover to the guy in front of you. American: the guy behind you is expected to provide cover for you. Basically the same thing.
if you know a bit of psychology you want say that these are same things! These are absolutely different thing, especially for a person with gun! "You are responsible for the man in front of you" - says u r responsible for a life of your comrade "You are dependent on a man behind you" - says pay attention at your safety
This was a great video that dipped into a lot of good points, I always hate the fact that other people say that can't make any shots further then 200 so the AK is bad. without really accepting the fact that its not just pickup, aim, and shot. There is a technique of firing the AK that the Russian operators know more than anyone else and I've personally seen guys that could put every round if not on then close to 10's at 300-400.
I think i get the concept, the shoulders level and the rifle close to center mass makes a T shape to mitigate recoil and recovery. The stance is bent and crouched again to mitigate recoil. Everything about the stance is designed around the rifle. This is gonna be fun!

Wow he’s an amazing instructor. I love AK. I’ll still pick an AK over AR
I guess a lot of stuff gets lost in translation like this
In simpler terms unit cohesion is key to victory.

Бабка - это мишени по которым нельзя стрелять (типа заложника).

"Vody" is genitive form of voda/water.

American: AK's are inaccurate
Russian: You can't even stand and shoot it properly
I trained with Dima when him and Fred arrived to Las Vegas. I thought I knew my AKM, but I was absolutely wrong. It’s one thing to be shooting at a range to test out a gun, but it’s a new ball game with training courses and see what our rifles are capable of. Fatigue really kicked me around and the weight of the 7.62x39 adds up, while it’s not as bad with AKs in 5.56 & 5.45. Still, if Dima returns, I’ll gladly sign up again.
4th_Survivor1990
Do the smaller rounds actually weigh more?? Or is there something I’m missing?
I’ve got no experience with AK pattern guns outside the 7.62x39 realm
BlakeW5 No, they don’t weigh more than the 7.62x39.
4th_Survivor1990
I wouldn’t have thought so, but you said the weight of the x39 wasn’t as bad as 5.45 or 5.56.
4th_Survivor1990
Gotcha, makes sense.
