I kinda have a theory on Moon. It isn't FULLY fleshed out but here it is so far:
We are shown that in Darkstalker that Listener could kind of feel scavenger emotions, or read scavenger's minds. I don't think they mentioned how Moon found out about her powers though (mind reading). I mean, which dragons besides her mother would be there? Probably not RainWings, since in book 3 Liana said something along the lines of "STRANGE black dragon." This kinda shows that they haven't seen NightWings.
BUT, she was in the rainFOREST with lots of plants. My idea is that Moon may be able to read the breath of evil's mind. like you said Bio, the BOE probably has a brain or mind of some sort. and if it can talk, it probably has a mind, and I really like the Sundew theory, so maybe that could be the kinda 'solution' on how they get Sundew back.
Or if that theory isn't correct, I kinda think that Moon will be pretty important to the downfall of the breath of evil,, and with Wren and Sky to translate, maybe Moon could read the possesed human's minds.

I really like that theory. In many other mediums of fantasy, telepathy can transcend language barriers because... thoughts ≠ language. Hopefully Moon will also have that little boon to assist her.
I feel like it would have come up earlier, though. In Moon's book, she's unprepared for all the noise that other dragon minds make because she's never had to deal with that before. If the trees on Pyrrhia think as much as the trees of Pantala do, then she must have gotten used to being in a crowd by the time she got to Jade mountain.
Then again, maybe the plants from the poison jungle were different, since many of them seem a lot more hostile than the Pyrrhia ones
Thanks for the good reactions to the theory everyone! It does make sense that she must’ve gotten used to being in a crowd if the plants were talking. I also think that the poison jungle plants are different, and so is the breath of evil. The plants in the rainforest seem to be non poisonous and chill too, if they think. That’s a good point though, Evelyn Chen about Moon probably being more prepared.
we know that sundew can kinda read the plants minds on pantala, so i wish she had a pov on pyrria so we could know if the plants are any quieter.

My own theories aren't very likely to happen, but I think:
- Wasp will die in the next book
-The Pantal and Pyrria will begin bridging their continents and form an ultimate community of dragonkind
-Scavengers will begin to coexist with the dragons, and if there ends up being books 16-20, one of the protags will probably be a human
-Several dragons will die, and I'm guessing that those odd new dragons that were added as reps at the end of book 14, will die
-Sora and Umber will show up
I don’t want scavengers to be main characters in the main series
@@svk0531 agreed, they’re fine, their stories can be interesting as standalone, but I read wings of fire for the dragons not the scavengers and I don’t want them becoming a major part of the main series
@@tempest_5ky I think Tui confirmed that scavengers and dragons will be at peace but will still mostly leave each other alone so you shouldn’t have to worry that much

A) he can learn to accept himself despite his disability to breathe fire
B) he can learn to make friends with other dragons and get comfortable with them for a change (considering the only other dragons he ever met either tried to lock him up or terrify him)
C) he can learn to not let others take advantage of his unwavering kindness and know when to say “no”

I have a theory I haven’t seen anywhere so far, and it’s probably unlikely but I think it makes sense.
Cricket has a tree that she cared for, shown in book 11 for a little bit. Sundew has leafspeak, and is able to make said tree grow and spread. If Cricket and Sundew live through book 15 and they win against the breath of evil, they could spread trees across Pantala once more. That, or they will get seeds from Pyrrhia and just use those.

I really liked the first theory, on how you think Sky might be a Transgender male. Especially considering how much evidence you had for it, and the fact that I'm also a Transgender male. Now I want Sundew to get possessed and I Breath of Evil. Sundew is an awesome character, and as you said about her having the gift of stealth making it even scarier... Oh that would definitely keep me in the WoF fandom forever!

I've always thought that the animus powers and a lot of what's happening on Pyrrhia and Pantala are because of humans, or that this is technically a post apocalyptic world/a world that humans colonized. I'd love to hear more about the "scorching" because I think it's something really important and intriguing. I love the theory that humans created the breath of evil and am totally on board with it.
If the humans did create the BoE I think it would have been through magic (since like I think Tui mentioned the humans were in the Stone Age before dragons came?) but I guess we’ll see when the Guide comes out this fall!
There's a fanfic on Ao3 called Bolt and Keeper, and in it it seems that Animus magic works because of alien technology.
I think/really really want, that Sky and Peril meet up together and talk together and then Peril mentions Kestrel. Then Sky goes on his little quest thing and realises that Peril is his sister.
Also I think that Blue will show up and pretend to of "Gotten away" but really he's a possessed spy like they did with Willowshine in warrior cats.

Btw about the Othermind, the part when Bio mentioned the "brain" of the othermind made them similar to the Flood from the Halo series. Ever since the othermind was introduced I immediately thought of the Flood and the Gravemind (especially from the voices that are in the minds of the dragons controlled by it).

Snowfall gave Sundew the gift of stealth, right? Well, that would make it easier for the breath of evil to get to her. And I also believe all the queens in the book will get possessed and convince their subjects to take the breath of evil, kinda like what Darkstalker did. Then, most if not all of Pyrrha will be mind controlled (I feel like Glory might manage to get Sunny, Starflight, Clay and maaaaybe Tsunami to take the breath of evil too). Then, Luna, Cricket, and IO would have to fight Sundew, Blue, Swordtail, and Snowfall, then get them to help turn everyone back. It’s difficult, but may happen! That’s just a theory though, *a game theory*

I have a theory about Blue
In book 11 Blue was introduced as a character that wouldn't harm a butterfly.
I believe that Blue will have be the one in the end to have to get up and fight the breath of evil or at least deal the final blow even to end it. I do have some reasoning for this, from my knowledge about writing, Tui will most likely have Blue overcome his pacifist state. In the end this will show that Blue won't sit there and let things happen and in turn will act only when things are rendering the well being of other dragons.
i mean tbh the first character of each arc has had a big role in the last book of the arc theyve been introduced so maybe
what if tui just comments "maybe don't spoil it for others ;)"

All of these theories (and accompanying art) are awesome! I definitely think they’re all pretty plausible.
Another theory I have is that, at some point in the book, the tree Cricket was growing in book 11 will make a comeback. It was described in way too much detail for it to never return, and I’m envisioning that it’ll be part of the “happy ending” epilogue- they’ll plant the tree in the savanna, signifying the start of a new era of peace and unity.

I think it would be kinda cool if tui put a plot point in the title and I don't really like oh the pantalan dragons are the dangerous gift, so what if the gift of stealth, or whatever it's called, is actually the dangerous gift. Like if you use it to much you'll be invisible forever or one dragon has to be sacrificed and stay invisible. Now that I'm writing it down it sounds pretty dumb but it's one of the first things that came to mind after reading tdg

I love the art you did while you explained your theories! I actually thought the Gift of Understanding could be given to Queen Wasp so she understood that the other dragon tribes weren't dangerous. That's the reason she took the Breath of Evil in the first place, because the other tribes were unfamiliar and dangerous. yours makes more sense though lol

Also plus on the wings of fire forge your dragon world, Tui said to imagine 2 dragons who were once friends now have in to fight each other as a writing prompt so I think that also could point to the Sundew theory

i feel like Sundew could be "the" dragon that Vole was talking about, but i also feel like it could be Pokeweed, since he's always trying to catch the scavengers and has had the most interactions with them. but Sundew makes sense too lol.
however, i do 100% agree that sundew will be possessed at some point in the book, have one hell of a fight with the rest of the crew, maybe stab stab a few peoples, and then willow will have to come to pantala to provide some sunlow angst.
Actually one interesting theory I heard was that TBOE (The breath of evil) was actually controlled by a scavenger, and it sounds more and more real now that scavengers are of importance

Nice job with your theories! Some of them have slightly inaccurate statements, but overall, you predicted it well given what information you had.
This is all well and good, but you know as much as I do that the most Important part of book 14 is that ice cream was revealed to be a thing that canonically exists in Pyrrihia.

Here’s a summery ( TW: spoilers for the 3rd arc (book 14 also) and mass death )
Sage was the leader of a bunch of witch leaf wings who used their leafspeak to develop plants and poisons and potions. The group were exiled from the tribe one fo them was the othermind she was known as thistle. She developed the breath of evil to get revenge on the rest of the tribe. The first test she did was on animals as she took over a good portion of the wild life. A thing with this plant she could take the life from the animals to make herself live longer. The poison jungle was in ruin when Thistle let the plant lose. But there was a price she started to be part plant. She renamed herself the Othermind. Her goal was to be the ruler of pantala and successfully done so for 2000 years. There was a rebellion that put a end to her madness. She was consumed by the void and pantala itself. Pantala was perfect once more...........or was it

So my theory is that the other mind will emerge out of the ground and start to cause problems for the protagonists
I think “the dragon” is Luna, because of her flame silk, she’s the POV, and maybe has something weird like, she’s part Leafwing or something. Just a theory, idk.
Edit: y’all please stop asking me about the Leafwing thing, it’s NOT SOMETHING I ACTUALLY MEANT AS A REAL THEORY!!! it’s just something random i thought of while writing, I have other theories on why she’s the dragon.
She isn't part LeafWing because her mom is Silverspot and her biological dad is Admiral

@@a.person53 I may be incorrect, but I don’t think that Silverspot has any LeafWing traits, though we haven’t seen her much. If this is based on Luna’s coloring, SilkWings can be all colors but black (I believe).
@@Lemural I know, but there is often a dormant gene, so perhaps it’s lay dormant for a while. And it wasn’t an actual thing I’ve looked into, it’s just a guess on why she may be the dragon. I have other theories, but I decided to put the part Leafwing in the comment.

I actually have a theory, and I've tried to work out the kinks. If they are mistakes please let me know. Okay, you know how skyfire can stop mind reading? What if it can stop mind control too? Well, I know you're thinking, how do we get enough skyfire for everyone when animus is broken? Well, they can't cast any spells NOW. Old spells still work. Remember Turtle and his little bowl? They helped with the earrings for repelling Darkstalker, so maybe this could work out. Let me know if you think this is a good theory, or not, and if you agree in the comments. Thanks!
This sounds like it would work if sky fire does stop the BoE. Turtle’s bowl would likely work but I don’t think that Tui would write it to be that easy considering that she already used it *and* Tui got rid of animus magic so that it wouldn’t be so easy for Turtle to just immediately stop whatever was happening.
It's kinda disappointing that Sundew wasn't possessed... It would have made things so much more interesting. But it was still a big shock to the community when Tui finally mentioned the Scorching and meeting Cottonmouth and Freedom for the very first time! It was kind of sad that Freedom couldn't play a bigger role, but the fact that we get to meet someone from the past who gets to tell us more about the events of the Scorching! I really really, hope that Tui does make the book about the Scorching, it would make the story more complete.
But even still the new book is amazing.

I think that io or Luna is gonna become queen of the silk wings because once/ if they defeat queen wasp the silk wings aren’t gonna want to go back to following anyone’s command, and plus if it’s io then I think that would be cool because we haven’t really seen much of her so it could be a climax of what she’s really capable of. And I really think io would be a good queen but Luna might be a little to bossy to be queen much like tsunami.
Also I can totally see sky walking around in pantala with a camera if he was a human XD

I think "the dragon" is queen wasp because I think she's the first dragon who got possessed and they wanted to bring her there to give her more instructions.
When I clicked the video I was kinda expecting some sort of theory about what could possibly be in the abyss that’s so terrifyingly important and crucial to survival of all dragons so when I heard the sky trans one I was like “well not what I came here for but certainly welcomed”

I can’t believe the book explores the scorching and that biohazardia was right about humans creating the breath of evil!
I missed it because I had appointment but I can count on it being pure gold with a thumbnail like that
after reading book 15, its weird how ACCURATE most of these theories are-
literally (spoiler warning btw):
number 1 (sky is trans): not officially proven yet
number 2 (the big hole is important): the book never says if its the same hole, but yeah there is important hole in savannah
number 3 (the abyss is in important big hole): ayup
number 4 (sundew gets possesed): not quite, but almost-
number 5 (humans made the breath of evil as a way to control dragons and not get eated): LITERALLY THATS WHY THE BREATH OF EVIL EXISTS WHAT HOW DID YOU GET IT SO ACCURATELY
The thing is- I don’t want Tui to like- have dragons make peace with humans and then the dragons are tamed. I liked the first arc since it wasn’t just about like- Friendship! And humans leading the dragons and controlling them! I liked them because it had violence and the dragons were the main characters. The dragons would naturally eat the humans and I was fine with that but I don’t like the idea of the humans merging with the dragons since it just won’t be fun to read.
That's a completely valid point of view. And in a way i agree with you on it but then again we can't seem to stop fighting or making war even though its wrong. So maybe there still would be fighting and killing even if the dragons and scavengers teamed up.

Just got this recommended after I finished book fifteen.. this is scarily accurate
Watching this, and seeing your theories, seeing a Possessed Sundew would’ve been a great idea for the 15th book. And now before I’ve watched this and I’ve read the book and seeing how close you got just, blows my mind. Congratulations on getting close and the Sky idea could come out in the 16th book if there is one and Sky is in it. Tui did say she’ll think about it, but we all want an arc 4 four and Sky meeting Peril.

@@Oakhaze Oh, honey, there is PLENTY of DEATH 😁 The ones I can recall are: Hvitur and the egg he carried, dune, kestrel, gill, tortoise+ probs more seawings in the first arc, arena kills like Fjord, that one mudding who I believe was named crocodile in Lost Heir, whirlpool, unhatched seawing eggs, the two dead muddies in the rainforest, morrowseer (?), viper, preyhunter from Thorn, queen blister & queen burn... There's also some of Deathbringer's kills as well as his mother, there's Vengeance too, Albatross & friends, ex-queen scarlet, a skywing (pretty sure carnelian was the name) at jade mtn's explosion, brightest night skywing eggs, icewing royal guards, prince arctic of course (what a classic), and hawthorn.
I believe we also got to see queen glacier's last moments (possibly death but I don't remember) when she talked about how she didn't want a second throne succession war. It was in book 14 so *pretty recent* .
@@theabirde but most of that was in the first arc, i recall 3 ish deaths in the second arc (carnelian, bigtail, and queen glacier/other icewings) and only like hawthorn from arc 3.

my theory for a long way into the book
Luna followed Sundew, Willow, Cricket, Moon and Sky into the cave.
“Jeez, this cave looks real dark and scary...” Luna said, shuddering.
“Squeak!!” Bumblebee agreed.
Luna used her flamesilk and held it in one talon to light the way.
“I-I think I can see-“ Willow said, squinting.
Suddenly, a vine rushed into Sundew’s mouth and Sundew swallowed it. Her eyes were now as white as the moons.
“RUN!” Moon shrieked.
Vines erupted out of the ground and caught their arms. They were trapped. Sundew was breathing heavily and she spoke in a voice nothing like her own.
“Go back. This is _my_ continent, _my_ home. You had your chance and you wasted it.” She said in a deep and scary voice.
“My love!” Willow shrieked. “Snap out of it!”
Sundew turned her head to Willow slowly.
“‘Love’? Ha!” Sundew said, laughing. “Jeez, you make me laugh.”
Luna widened her eyes and saw those white ones swallowing her whole.
My Theories:
Theory 1: The reasons the scavengers created the Breath of Evil was because the emperor from the Indestructible City wanted to control dragons, so he made it!
Theory 2: Sky x Umber
Theory 3: We will learn a lot more about what actually happened with Clearsight and the HiveWings.
Theory 4 (my unlikely one) something will happen to Peacemaker (Darkstalker)

First off, I absolutely love your art!
Second, these theories are amazing. Now I just want book 15 to come out already.
Third, if all of these theories are in the books then you are a pure genius.
I think that Lady Jewel will become the queen after they defeat Queen Wasp and the Breath of Evil. It’s kinda hard to explain why I think this will happen, but I think it will. I also disagree with Sundew getting possessed and using the stealth armbands. This is because in book 12, Katydid mentions that the Breath of Evil can’t access a dragon’s secrets and inner thoughts. Unless the armbands are activated accidentally (which is pretty unlikely), I don’t think that possessed Sundew will use the armbands
It makes sense! Jewel and Scarab are the only “good” HiveWing leaders right now

Ok so there’s one theory I have that ties a lot of parts into this, and it’s far from finished, but I think 1.wasp was manipulated into manipulating. How? Maybe from a young age wasps mother saw she had the skills of lying quickly and set her apart to kind of fish her mind into thinking she needed to dominate the other tribes. Ok 2. I think wren may also get possessed, leading sky to reach a huger climax. I feel Tui, being the fun creative person she is, would do that just to mess with us. We saw that humans can be possessed, so it’s possible. 3. Is feel like we’re gonna have an arch four because something tells me she will think of a way to incorporate one. With this kinda arch, she can do it. Ok I know I’m like- bad at theories but these were for fun bc I put them together instead of staying concious in class :)

These are all really great! I have two theories for how animus magic could come back: 1.) it has something to do with the abyss under Pantala, and maybe even the humans/scavengers living under them 2.) When Boa cast the spell to get rid of animus magic, she said "Shatter the magic of all CURRENT animus dragons," meaning more animi hatch in the future
I like to think about the dragons taken by the Breath of Evil as "infected."

Watching this after reading book 15 makes me realize how accurate this is!
I will be so sad if Sundew gets controlled by the plant. I honestly don’t think Sundew will be dumb enough to let the plant get near her but... she is very impulsive and my guess is she would hand herself over to the plant if say it was threatening Luna, Blue, Cricket, etc. so it is definitely possible but i would just be really sad if it does happen even if she does get cured.
If she does get taken over by the othermind everybody is screwed

it's not impossible, she could get hit by a tranq dart if Pineapple gets controlled or one of the controlled LeafWings has one (Sundew had a paralysis dart so it's not impossible that they might) or she gets stabbed by a HiveWing, then they could put a smoking piece of the plant in front of her snout, and boom, controlled. Or if they're having a big fight they could just smoke them all and they'll all get controlled
