Yet another great review, Sarah. Thanks for pointing out all of the cool features of this car. The look on your face when you were giving it the beans was priceless. My favorite feature of the supercharged Mopars is the whine of the blower. There's no mistaking that sound. I also noticed that you were totally responsible and belted-in your penguin passenger. Loved this review! I'm not a huge Dodge fan, generally, but I appreciate the direction they take cars like this. In a time when everyone else is trying to make Power Wheels for adults, or convince us that a four-cylinder engine is acceptable in a sports car, Dodge made this beast! Still not my first choice for that price, but I'm with Sarah on just being glad this car exists!

We are near the end of an era, Dodge says that electric muscle cars will be even more exciting, I doubt it, they may be faster, but muscle cars were never about speed, but rather the noise, the burning rubber and the imminence of death at every turn.

The annual Mecum Auction near me in Kissimmee is sponsored by Dodge. One of the attractions is a ride on a small road course in either a Charger or Challenger Hellcat. Of course, 90% of the ride is sideways in a drift and that's where this car shines. The fact that this car actually exists for anybody to purchase is enough to "almost" make me a Chrysler customer.

I would love a hellcat one day. I think the scatpack widebody charger is just such a better deal. Sure, the hellcat red eye has 300 more horses but it cost 40k more than my Scat F8 widebody.
