I’ve owned two hellcats myself. I absolutely love the wide body on the charger. But 100k is a bit too steep in my opinion. Especially with no upgraded tech inside or re-designed interior period. For $2500 (maybe more or less) you can get around 800hp out of a standard hellcat with bolt on’s and a simple tune....

That is a beautiful car. These crazy horsepower wars make me feel like I’m driving a mid-80’s Diplomat.
I remember driving one for a week n i love the feeling driving down the highway because everyone be thinking like ur a undercover cop charging behind their tail and moved to the other lane leaving only u driving on the opposite of the lane lol.

I've owned 2 cats, currently own a Daytona 50th anniversary edition Hellcat (#70 of 501) never a Redeye yet.... but that's 797 will be mine also.... soon! Thanks for the video RacerX. Good job on that review

I ordered mine in October I finally got it January 14 ( just turn 500 miles today) I traded in a 2019 hellcat he’s right you can’t tell if it’s a redeye from a distance unless you look at the hood it’s different than a regular hellcat. It’s no comparison to the power. You can feel it not overrated at all there’s mine in the thumb nail indigo blue with red leather red calipers warp speed granite wheels and 3 season tires more sticky just love the car. Racer x you do good reviews I really enjoy you videos especially when you explain the mods that work and don’t work. keep up the good work get mrs x a charger redeye
What a coincidence, since I just saw the same spec Redeye at my local dealer. They wanted $100k after ADM. Great Charger, but no thank you. Great video!
You just have to shop around and find the right dealership.. You actually can buy a charger or challenger redeye right now under msrp with the dodge power dollar program.. Don't fall for that dealer mark up bull shit on a mass produced vehicle.. some dealerships prey on people to fall for adm by trying to make you believe its a rare vehicle produced in low numbers which is a complete lie. Again don't fall for it

I even factory ordered my 5.7 R/T and I actually saved 5K back in 2015 when this body style came out. I'm planning to trade up for a Redeye/Jailbreak and that's a made-to-order car anyways. I'll gladly pay for the $95k car I configured online and I'm not paying a dollar over that (other than taxes/tags/extended warranty, etc) minus the trade/cash. I remember they tried to get me to settle for what they had in stock and thought I was pressed and couldn't wait the 2-3 months for the build lol. I told them I'm not a typical buyer and I have 6 years to pay this damn thing off so there's no sense in rushing to get into something somebody else ordered. When it comes to these cars only a damn fool or rich person would pay that ADM shit! Build your own and save!

Yeah I’m a bit jelly about buying a 16 regular hellcat vs waiting and I could have had the new redeye wide body that’s all worked out now for roughly the same price as they were charging for the regular old hellcats none existent wide body for the time. Good video man! love the car. That dealership is really cool for helping out racer x on this great content, who else has a video of this new charger wide body redeye? I haven’t scene one good job brother! Was expecting to see 87k plus for it but it isn’t it’s decently priced being new.

I have two 2016 Hellcats; Challenger and Charger. Regarding the Redeye, it's an awesome car and worth it, if power and reliability are the goal. You simply get a better powertrain. If I was in the market, I wouldn't even consider a Hellcat if I knew Redeyes were available.

I just rented this exact car in Vegas on Turo & got damn is it addictive! I can’t stop thinking about it! lol Biggest take away for me was how well the dodge traction control works & allows you to get sideways & roast the tires just enough to be controlled but with out really feeling like traction control is working if that makes sense. Feels natural.
Beautiful car price tag a little high unless you plan to go to the track every weekend but they do sound nice, I’m still very happy with my scat pack charger it’s definitely not a slow ride, great video be safe

Normal, regular are not the words I would use to describe a Hellcat. I guess that's we're we are at now with 700 plus horse power cars insane. Beautiful car. Maybe I'll pick up an old regular Hellcat soon. Lol! Love the review.

I'd buy one in a millisecond if I had the garage space to park a non daily driver! I was worried I'd be disappointed with my Scat Pack WB. I couldn't have been more wrong. FUNNEST car for the money I've ever owned!!!! 🔥🤯🔥

YES IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA COIN! You get alot for around $9k over the regular Hellcat price. The Demon/Redeye engine is a completely different engine even though they look so similar. The only parts carried over we're the head castings. Every other part from the oil pan to the engine block to the valvetrain to the supercharger was re-engineered to be stronger and more powerful 💪! The Redeye is especially worth the extra coin if you know your going to be modifying the car from the get go because it will handle more boost and more abuse. Your getting a deck honed block and all forged internals right out the gate!
A 2 DOOR Charger widebody Redeye with maybe updated rear lights and the front facial would be a Game changer !!!
No, no it's not overrated, the whine of the supercharger will bring the biggest smile to your face lads. This is a beautiful f'n car.

Have a '16 Charger HC & it's awesome...... BUT. Would have LOVED to have had a wide body to try out on the Nurburgring & see how much differently it held up versus the reg body version....

That Redeye is an impressive car. And it's equally impressive that Dodge has found a way to keep people talking about a platform - at its core - that is nearly 15 years old. But nearly 800 HP with a warranty and a payment book has put "track power" in the hands of anyone who has the means.
We've owned two Charger R/Ts ('07 and '13) ... but no Hellcats. Certainly no Redeyes. As a previous owner of a '68 Charger R/T, I still think that the Charger has two doors too many.

@@nhchico2965 that's what I tell everybody that sees my car and complains about the door count lol. No point in both Charger and Challenger having 2 doors. Coupes don't sell like they did in the 60's and 70's. Chargers outsell Challengers for a reason!

Love the channel I always enjoy your videos you really seem like a great person who knows what your talking about. I’m hoping to get my Hellcat at the end of this year and my problem is not sure what to go with the 6spd manual wide body challenger or the wide body charger. It’s weird I love the way the challenger feels in the driver’s seat like snug, secure, sporty. But not crazy about the two door look. The Charger exterior looks incredible to me but feels roomy comfortable but not sporty. Plus I enjoy a manual more than the auto just for when you clutch there’s that slight pause in power then it hits again after you release the clutch 😍 My car won’t be modified or at the drag strip, just wanting to cruise around and do some highway/back road pulls so I can get that big smile!! I’m not against the automatic I just think it would be fun to shift or in your experience is the auto just as good? What do you think RacerX ? Your opinion is very important for me as you have experience and I do not. Thank you for your time and help me with a decision please 😄
It's a tough decision .. I have always been a manual guy but I will admit that the auto hellcats just seem to do everything better. So many ways to configure the way it drives. I have driven many of both .. if it was me I would go with the widebody charger .. just my thoughts.. no right or wrong way to go

Man what I wouldn't give. I prefer the Charger over the Challenger, just something about a 4 door sedan with over 700hp really gets me going. They look a little leaner and meaner than the Challenger imo. I'd jump at the chance to even sit behind the wheel of one of these things, for just 5 minutes. I'll never own one, but I still love to look at them. Thanks for letting me live vicariously man!
Great review, I have a Challenger Redeye these are classics. How many cars can you say about today that just rolled of the assembly line. If have one hold on to it and don’t be so hard on it remember it’s a classic car.

Actually after owning two hellcats yes it’s over rated at this point. I just got a 22 M3 comp X and it’s an overachiever with a straight 6 twin turbo . 3.1 0-60 11.1 123mph stock . With a tune only 10.3 132mph then with down pipe and E30 9.90 138 mph . Same price as hellcat no traction issues and it handles

I can't wait to order my Jailbreak! This is such a beautiful car, only thing missing is a sunroof! What I don't understand is why they removed the rear seat center fold down armrest, WTF Dodge! My R/T is less than half the price and came with one and has cool lighted cupholders lol. I'd expect that feature on my nearly 100k car even if I never sit back there!
To me, those forged internals are what make it worth more than the regular Hellcat. When you're dealing with that much power, that block is gonna get compromised. Anything you can do to nullify that a bit is a big bonus.
Regular hellcat has same internals.

I would not be surprised if some new redeye charger owners get their cars into the high 9 second range on the drag strip! Of course this would have to be under perfect conditions. Perfect weather with excellent track prep, and a drag pack wheel and tire set up and I think it could happen. Some people say the car isn't stock anymore if you change out the wheels and tires but imo that's some bullshit... But that's just me...

Hey racerx I’m looking into getting a charger hellcat in the future but I’ve been reading mixed articles about how the supercharger will shorten the lifespan of the car and how it won’t. Any info or advice would be appreciated I would plan on keeping the car stock under the hood. 😂

I agree with you. I have a Charger Hellcat and I think the Redeye is solely depending on your priorities. In everyday driving it probably doesn`t make much of a difference. They are both incapable of putting the power down only the Redeye is even worse. But hey, to each it`s own. Regarding the "Good friends at Nationwide in N Richland Hills", they are one of the worst dealerships I ever came across. When I bough my `19, I went there first because they had one. Back then I drove a Jaguar XJL 5.0 Supercharged ( 97K new) and they told me I can`t drive the HC because it`s too expensive. They are a joke. I went to Don Davis in Arlington and they gave me absolutely no problems. That`s why I also bought a new GC in July and going to order a Hellcat Widebody by the end of the year from them. Just stay away from Nationwide.
Sorry to hear about your experience .. I don't know if that is typical. I also work the Eric (the GM) up at Don Davis (which is where I bought my hellcat). They are a good dealership as well.

For 83grand,I'll get a super stock at 807hp instead. Can't wait for the 2023 updates. Mr. X is the best car reviewer in DFW.!!!
The super stock challenger and Red Eye Charger have the same engine and drivetrain. The S.S make 10 more horsepower because it has a slightly more aggressive tune from the factory but I doubt you will feel that 10 HP difference. It's just a marketing ploy... The big difference with the S.S is in the suspension and the drag radial tires it comes with stock. Although SRT does not call it Drag Mode like in the Demon when in Track Mode in a s.s you are essentially in Drag Mode which stiffens up the rear shocks and loosens up the front to better transfer the weight on launch at the drag strip and you get the sticky drag radial tires stock. The Demon's drag mode suspension and wheel and tire package is what makes the super stock pretty cool, that extra 10 hp though isn't really doing much. Id like to see someone put the wheels and tires off of a demon or a new super stock onto a new red eye Charger and take the new challenger super stock and the new charger red eye to the drag strip and see if the super stock is actually any faster in the real world

Love your videos my man but maybe go to the manufacturer website and use the build and price option to get more familiar with the different models, options, and pricing so that you know a little more about the car before doing the review. It's like your learning about it as your reviewing it lol. You should already have the knowledge before you make the car review videos so your know what your talking about. It seems like you learn as you go, and review at the same time while trying to record all at once lol 😉
Brian.. I always have knowledge of these cars well in advance. I have already reviewed the redeye prior but I always come preparred .. This was not a learn as you go type situation so I am not sure why your saying that. I also have access to FCA engineers so it comes directly from the source and not some publication. I have used Dodge's website for pricing info in the past which is very easy to do. lol

I put a VMP Odin on my 2018 GT performance package A10 car and at anything above a 1/4 throttle from a start it will destroy 305/35r19 tires.

Man do y'all think that FCA and Chrysler should bring back the Chrysler SRT and should add the hellcat and the redeye after a few years I think the 300 sales would skyrocket but it would directly compete with the charger.😔😔😔
