Thanks for sharing your year. such fun. I have to wonder how old you are. Creativity of an older more experienced person with the heart of a 6 year old. I am an old sewest, learned from my grandmothers. I'm 86 years old, and so enjoy you and all of your clever sewing ideas. I live in Southern Indiana USA.

I think one of my favorite stuff i made this years was a patchwork ruffled skirt with a matching corset , it was my first patchwork piece , i was really inspired by your work ✨✨✨ i love all you’re creation so much i cant pick a favorite hahaha ! Hi Carl, Love the bows on the headphones. your channel was one of the best thing happened to me in sewing area.
The biggest thing I learnt this year as a beginner is 'Always make a Mock-up'.
And if the pattern says it is for intermediate sewist the do not attempt to make it in the good fabric directly ever.
I learnt this after spoiling two lovely dresses. I don't even have extra fabric to fix them. So always make a mock up of at least the bodice.

Such an amazing and inspiring wrap! (Also, feeling so smug to have seen all the videos you mention...) My favourites are the fairy wedding dresses and the happiest skirt, though I loved every single one of your makes. My own sewing achievements were selling my first pieces and my latest video getting a lot of love! Can't wait to see what you get up to next year.

I love your style of making things , they’re all just so pretty. probably my favourite thing I made this year was a white very very very gathered dress, inspired by the poofy dresses you make. I just feel so magical and fairy like in it, I’d love to make more but oh my it took forever to sew hehe. Thank you for doing what you do, your content is so lovely to watch

I love all the variations of your Jo March dress. Of the things I have made I am most proud of a coat with sleeves, cuffs, collar, pockets, buttons and buttonholes. I did it withoit a pattern - just trying things.

Subscribed immediately. I gasped opening the link to your shop because I have always been OBSESSED with patchwork clothes (and upcycled vintage materials, stylistically as well as environmentally). I'll be keeping an eye out for any more of those patchwork dresses (like the Easel with the ruffled collar) because I intend to buy one ASAP lol.

Tip for printing on fabric. Iron some cotton onto freezer paper and cut to A4 size. It goes through your printer really easy. Loads of beautiful makes from 2023

I'm pretty freaking new to sewing myself and even though a lot of the things I make are really similar projects, I learn a lot from each of them. It's fun to see how much you've learned and grown in a year! I upcycle a lot too. I've been wanting to use my scraps for something and you have a lot of interesting ideas.
That's the BEST!!!! The reward of learning something new everytime feels so exciting and sparkly. I hope you have a wonderful year of sewing ahead!

Hi Carly!! Your creativity is so inspiring and I just love seeing all the care and time you put into creating your garments! All your pieces are so much fun and I love that you aren't afraid to make the things you really want to make! I really love the camera bag you made. Although I'm beginner sewist, I decided to make my own wedding dress this year and I LOVED it. I learnt so much. Although people thought I was kind of crazy for doing it, others were inspired which just gave me the warmest feeling. We can do hard things! Thanks for sharing your creative journey with us. 🧵❤

I love those rock climbing pants that you made for your boyfriend and I was thinking of making some for my girlfriend (probably later this summer when I'm out of uni), do you have any tips for them? also would you consider remaking them for a pattern breakdown (that I would pay for)? either way really cool pair of trousers 🤩
Aw thank you for watching mate!! Oh those rock climbing pants were a task for sure.. but so special to make. I can absolutely do a pattern breakdown on my patreon this year! But if you want to self draft... I worked off the Bob Woven pants pattern as a jumping point
