Written when they were barely in their teens. The bassist Alejandra gets major credit in creating the darkness of this song when she was just 11 or 12 years old. The opening song for a concept album Queen of The Murder Scene, a story of a woman’s obsession leading to madness and murder. The drummer Pau opens the story like a narrator. The lead singer/guitarist Dany played the Queen. It is her vocals when the time comes that the gravitas of the album begins. At the 2018 Lunario concert she descends in madness, losing her battle for her soul and sanity with each song in the album. The ‘Ooomphs’ starts with her! During the breakdown in Dust to Dust in the original presentation, their manager Rudy joined them on stage as a preacher delivering a sermon in Spanish. He was later replaced with a prerecorded background track. Here you can’t even hear the track as 8,000 fans are reciting the sermon themselves.
One of the reasons "Dust to Dust" has the feel it does is that it is setting the tone for the concept album. Dull Knives is from the same album, around the time in the story where a murder takes place. I truly believe that "Queen" will be highly collectible - possibly very soon - as it is an amazing piece of art. Every song feels as if it is pulled from a different rock genre. I heard it before I knew the album was put together by 3 very young girls. It is so dark, you would think these girls were tortured souls, but it seems as if they (especially Pau) has found a way to vent through their music. Music therapy 101. If you want your mind completely blown away, watch the OMV of XXI Century Blood - title track of their first album. I don't take you as a lyric guy, but they are unreal, especially since English isn't their native language.
Just so you know - at this concert the drummer (Pau) was so sick they were considering cancelling and the other two were not at 100% either. Also this is at Mexico City so they're over 7300 feet above sea level. And they are Mexican sisters from Monterrey Mexico. Daniela (Dany), lead guitar and lead vocals, Paulina (Pau), drummer and vocals (occasional lead vocals!), and Alejandra (Ale), bass and backing vocals.
Thanks for featuring, what is to me after 60 + years of listening to Rock/metal (heard them all, seen several dozen live) the best Rock trio in several decades. Cheers.
Darker? Try Queen of the Murder Scene live at Teatro Metropolitan. And yes, the end of Dust to Dust reminds a little to Memory Remains by Metallica. Actually, Queen of the Murder Scene has some Metallica and Black Sabbath vibes as well. You can definitely notice some metal influences there.
QotMS at Teatro Metropolitan is one of my absolute favorite songs/performances by them. Speaking of metal influences, when they played Dust To Dust at the Whisky A Go Go, Ale did an extended bass intro that reminds me quite a bit of The Red And the Black by Iron Maiden.
The Warning are not a metal group but have some elements of it at times. They are an awesome Rock/Hard Rock band much like those of the great bands of the old days. They have become heavier since they started, but if you're looking for mostly metal, you looking in the wrong place. For my money The Warning is the best hard rock band out there right now bar none. They will be huge in just a couple of years.
The pronunciation is actually easy if you realize that Pau is just shortened Paulina and Ale is shortened Alejandra. You pronounce the nicknames the same way as the beginnings of their full names.
Probably The Warning is not the type of music that you would enjoy 100%, but something to consider: these 2 tracks are from their second album, released 2018. They worked on it between 2016-2017. In 2016, they were 16 (Dany-Guitarist), 14(Pau-Drums), 11 (Ale-Bass). When the album was released they were 18, 16, 13. I think it’s amazing music that they wrote while they were still kids. I highly recommend to check Queen of the murder scene, and Ugh from Teatro Metropolitan. Those are also heavier songs from their second album. After those 2 songs, listen to their latest tracks like, 6 feet deep, Apologize, Sharks, Automatic Sun, Hell You Call A Dream, etc. Those songs written when they were finally all grown up (hardly). They were 23, 21, 18 while working for their latest album.
Really something else these girls... everytime i hear their music, it's like being thrown backwards into the most authentic spirit of OLD Classic School ROCK and its most genuine atmospheres! LOVE THEM !
3 sisters from Mexico. They use limited backing tracks and they don't have a lot of guitar solos in their songs but "Z" from this concert has a good solo and Dany joined Halestorm for "Familiar Taste of Poison" at their Quebec show and slayed it. Den Hebert seems to have the best version on his channel.
The extra crazy part is that they wrote these songs VERY young. Ale (bass) is credited with being the main writer for "Dust to Dust," which I believe she came up with when she was 11 or 12. (Recorded it when she was 13.) Sort of mind-blowing. They all craft the songs together, of course... but I have even heard Ale say that it is "my song." heh
English is their second language. They are 19 22 24yrs old. They are sisters from Mexico. They speak Spanish 1st.The Bassist Alejandra aka Ale (ah-lay) turns 20 in a couple days I think..✌️
Both of these songs are from Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album released in 2018 when bassist Ale was 13, drummer Pau was 16, and guitarist Dany was 18. The album tells the story of a young woman’s descent into obsession, murder, and madness. Dust to Dust, the opening track and prologue, introduces themes of life, death, and deception, setting the emotional tone for the album. The song features a Spanish spoken interlude performed by their manager Rudy, usually played on a backing track; however, in the Pepsi Center video, the backing track is mixed much quieter, with crowd microphones turned up so you can hear the audience performing the spoken part. For this performance, the band also added an extended outro that isn’t on the studio recording. Dull Knives (Cut Better), the 9th track from Chapter 3, shows the protagonist’s growing despair and internal struggle, where her evil side is beginning to win. Behind the scenes, the band revealed they tried to extend Dull Knives, but ultimately decided to keep it short, recommending listeners replay it if they feel it’s too brief.
6:10 "Not bad so far" That made me laugh. The warning has NO Bad songs, and when somebody says that they would prefer if the did their songs a different way, change something here and there, Just makes my eyes roll.
Nice review. I appreciate your candor. I tend to follow reactors who give honest opinions. About The Warning - although they incorporate influences from many genres, including metal, they are definitely not a metal band. The drummer - Paulina - was very sick during this concert, to the point it was almost cancelled. Although her pitch was certainly spot on, she couldn't quite hit all the notes she usually does. If you're more inclined to a harder sound, you should check out their new album (Keep Me Fed). It has a heavier sound to it. I would suggest starting with Six Feet Deep or Sharks. If you want to see Dany (guitar player) shred, check out their cover of Atlas Rise.
This whole album Queen of the murder scene is a rock opera. That's a concept album and the whole thing deserves a listen. It is fully a masterpiece and was written when they were Just freaking kids. Heck they still are. These girls are changing the Dynamics of music
Congrats. You are THE first reactor I have seen that recognized the Mexican/Spanish flourishes the Warning stick into their music. They sneak them in a lot and most don't notice. They are Mexican from Monterey. Dany's vocals often have a Flemenco tone to them as well. Passion ( Flemenco) and perfection ( modern rock)
There from mexico they have been playing for 10 years now they are 1 of the hardest working bands in the world they have numerous world tours played numerous festivals have 4 albums out played with band maid
Dany has said she really does not do guitar solos unless the song requires it. For a killer solo, try Z from the Pepsi center of Queen of the Murder Scene from the Teatro Metropolitan concert.
Think of Dust to Dust as being a bit like a Scottish Dirge. Like a death march. So that explains the almost monotone feel of the song. To me that's what makes this song stand out. It's odd. It's haunting. It's completely magnificent.
Like others, I appreciate your honesty. I think all we viewers should expect is honesty and respectfulness, even if you dislike the song or the band. And you’ve been great at both.
I love rock and metal but overall music, melody, harmony and minor keys specially. That been said, after listening all of the 60+ The Warning songs and like all of them too much, my favorite is a forgotten and underrated masterpiece called The Sacrifice. I don't request you react to it, just enjoy it, you'll love the darkness, minor key and key changes on it.
I have 40 years of listing seeing all of the greatest metal bands in the world and Believe me when i say this magnificent band are going to get better and better and be a goat band on the planet
Hey, opinions are OK. I love to hear musicians opinions. I find their songwriting top notch and their greatest talent. Punchy and Riff-y (is that a word?). Many agree they would like to hear more solos, but it's their choice ! 🤟🎸🥁🎸🤟
Yes, ‘Queen of the Murder Scene’ (the song) is probably their most metal-adjacent song. “Old” metal that is. For “nu metal” it’s would be ’Sharks’. But they are not a metal band. Hard Rock sure. Alt rock maybe better. But their true genre doesn’t have a name yet… they’re still inventing it. I just call it “The Warning”. NOW…if you want HARD I would like you to try ❄️❄️❄️Freeze the Fall ‘VHS’❄️❄️❄️ with a good dose of evil😮 (wear your brown pants just in case)
Gran reacción de las diosas del rock. Dust 2 dust es el prólogo de qotms y el tempo es mas solemne porque de supone que estan en un funeral y el final de dany es la representación del llanto en este funeral. Saludos
Dany doesn’t do many solos. She can and does when the song needs it. Try Queen of the Murder Scene or “E” from the live concerts from the Pepsi Center or Teatro Metropolitan. Enjoy your journey.
Oh Yeah, This is the Rock Machine called THE WARNING that I know. They wrote these when they were teenagers. Ale the Bassist created this Dust to Dust groove at age 11 I believe. You'll really like the song Queen of the Murder Scene from the Queen of the Murder Scene Concept Album.. 🌎✌️
Dust-to-dust is an intro song to a concept album. I believe it is intentionally written monotone. They wrote these songs around 18, 16 and 13. The drummer is the principal songwriter. Try Error live at Pepsi Center. You shouldn't have copyright problems with anything from The Warning's own channel.
Listen to the entire ERROR album -- it is their masterpiece. Always read the lyrics! This Pepsi Center CDMX concert is one of the best recordings of The Warning live.....they are three sisters from Mexico who have been playing together for over 10 years. They are child prodigies. Better live than in the studio.
Yeah, Dany splits the signal from her Kemper profiler to go to a harmonizer with an octave shifter shifted down for the one channel... also with a 10ms delay. Makes it sound like two guitars. Really nice setup she has.
Good honest reaction. A little bit too much apologizing for it I think. Dust to Dust song is best described as, "epilogue as prologue". It is a duet between protagonist and antagonist and opens the "Rock Opera" as described by the band, "Queen of the Murder Scene". The drummer is singing as a preacher speaking about redemption. Think, "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust" and the title makes sense. Dull Knives (Cut Better) is much later in the story. The Queen has now committed murder (and a little torture).
Thank you, yea i was trying to go ahead a let the fans I knew were gonna take things the wrong way that my thoughts and opinions are never coming from a negative place
For "Dull Knives (Cut Better)," they fought to change it up and make it longer... adding solos... everything... and in the end, they decided to strip it down and play it as it ended up. They said that nothing felt like it worked right other than making it as it wanted to be. A lot of fans said they wished it was longer, so they jokingly tell everyone to just play it again. ;-)
Dust to Dust takes place at the funeral of the Queen. Their second album is a concept album that tells a story. In D2D it is the Queen inviting the listener into her story. Dull Knives is a later track of the same album after the Queen has committed murder. They are 3 sisters from Mexico and do not routinely speak English among themselves. As a second language they have very little accent now. It was more pronounced when they were children. About the only thing noticeable now is that Pau will often think of a word or phrase she wants to use in Spanish and not immediately have the English equivalent. For this concert at the Pepsi Center in Mexico City at around 7300 ft above sea level they had been advised to cancel as all 3 had been battling flu but they powered through though the drummer was still pretty sick. She could not reach some of her normal notes but unless you knew that they didn't let it show. They had sold out the venue, 8000 fans, and were not going to disappoint their fans, some of which had flown long distances from Europe and South America to be there.
You havnt done Enter Sandman from the Pepsi Centre . Their cover for Metallicas . . Blacklist album . . Could be worth a look . . . . Lets say its not your typical cover . . . (No its not a country version lol) . 👍👋🇳🇿🍻twa
This band has only been improving since i found them in 2017 thru Free Falling from Rock Band 4. the community they have built is a beautiful thing altho like any fan base there are a few fanatics we prefer your authenticity over people saying what we want to hear. keep being you and doing this your way, all good in my book. Freeze The Fall's song VHS might be more to your taste, warning it is a horror movie based music vid and they are inspired by The Warning. Quinn 17yo guitar/vocals taught herself guitar to The Warning's Queen Of The Murder Scene album at 11yo, Aria 16yo bass/vocals and 16yo Jonah on drums. Freeze The Fall signed a promotion/distribution only deal so no copyrights and they welcome reactors and will fix any issues so you can react to their music, they even stop in and thank the reactor and say howdy. The Warning started more than just their musical career, they started a new trend of fan based music taking control away from music execs and giving bands the control they deserve. be good to one another and ROCK ON !!
Don’t apologize for being honest, they’ll always be a couple of fans (of any band) who love them a little too much. Usually stuff from The Warning’s official channel is good to go without being messed with. ⚡️🤘
I agree with that one! That being said, even some TW songs that I don't care for on first listen, grow on me over time. There are little nuances that I've started to notice upon multiple listens - simple things like subtle differences in harmonies, bass lines, riffs, etc. It all builds and adds elements of surprise. I know that they all went to Berklee when they were young(er), and that may have added to their ability to write so well.
If you appreciate songs that build throughout, this is the band for you. If you want to get punched in the face from the get go and with a guitar solo, you may be best off moving forward with another band. TW can do it but they'll only add a solo if it fits the song.
Excellent my friend... excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep in mind that this is supposed to be a dirge!. The over embellish the chorus would lose that feel. It is meant to be listened to as part of the whole "Queen of the Murder scene " concept album.
Queen of the Murder Scene Live at Lunario is a great Dark song with a great Solo... Z has a great Solo but it I believe it's a major key. Remember 1 Thing these 2 songs were written when they were kids & teens...
They are sisters , Dany the guitarist really does not do much shredding , she’s more of a riff rhythm guitarist , solos are few and far between and pretty simple just enough to compliment the track .
And heres there's the kicker now in 2024l dany the vocalists is 24 pau the drummer is 22 and ale the bassists is 19 theses young women at such an young age have more stage presance talent personality in there little finger than you me most bands out there today
Have to say I agree with you. He wants a guitar solo and to spice up Pau's vocals. Not his fault, but, at the moment he isn't getting it. However if he sticks with this he might begin to change how he sees them. The Warning are a wee bit different and that's one of the reasons that I love them.
Its good stuff sometimes, listen to cattle decapitations newest record terrisite…a great example of the grunts and screams done in a melodic way, plus the instrumentation is absolutely insane
While The Warning is not a metal band, when they decide to sound heavy they can really do it... you're just barely sniffing down the rabbit hole, it's a band that knows how to build songs very well from a very young age, so far the songs have been written and composed by them which gives a lot to say being only 3 girls with a sound that even bands of 5-6 members make them suck.
Actually I do not agree. I think Dust to Dust is very pleasing for my ears. In particular Paus parts. I love that it is a bit more level and not shouting at the top of the lungs. There is time for that also.

Dust to Dust was written based off of a bass riff from 12 year old Ale! Insane talent levels on all three sisters!
Just so you know - at this concert the drummer (Pau) was so sick they were considering cancelling and the other two were not at 100% either. Also this is at Mexico City so they're over 7300 feet above sea level. And they are Mexican sisters from Monterrey Mexico. @Pascal-the-Rascal Oh yes... that intro is VERY Maiden... Steve Harris influence. :-)
Is that intro the one Ale originally performed at Lunario (in unedited video)?! 🤔
@@sergiodelatejaytejeda Oh yeah... I am pretty sure it is performed at that Lunario show. I'd have to re-watch to know, but I bet it is.
@KabukiKid
I just checked and yes it's the same and great intro. 👌

Consider the song "Queen of the Murder Scene" live from the 2023 Teatro Metroplitan concert. It is tuned in Bb, drop D.
Due to Spanish, easiest way to remember their names in English: they sound kind of like: Danny (guitar), Pow (drums), AH-Lay (bass)
@@don-music better way to remember ALEJANDRA'S nickname it's like Alex minus the last X
@@ivanguerrero7934 or like Alejandra, without the jandra 🤣
@@Scott_Diverscott jaja funny ... 😑 I was actually trying to help to correctly pronounce/ say an Spanish nickname for an English speaker fellow fan
The pronunciation is actually easy if you realize that Pau is just shortened Paulina and Ale is shortened Alejandra. You pronounce the nicknames the same way as the beginnings of their full names.
@arctic_haze exactly my point

THE WARNING, THE BEST MEXICAN ROCKBAND. 🤘🏻🇲🇽⚡
Both of these songs are from Queen of the Murder Scene, a concept album released in 2018 when bassist Ale was 13, drummer Pau was 16, and guitarist Dany was 18. The album tells the story of a young woman’s descent into obsession, murder, and madness.

The guitarist (Dany) uses a Kemper Profiler.
Need to check out queen of the murder scene song
👍👋🇳🇿🍻twa
I understand ooomph. Don’t worry.
QUEEN OF THE MURDER SCENE at Teatro Metropolitan.
To me, reminds me of movie Sucker Punch sound track , coolest movie about chicks ever
If you like heavier/darker songs you should check out “queen of the murder scene” from their live at the teatro metropolitan concert.
Iron maiden/ judas priest /ACDC /motorhead / black Sabbath/ deep purple /led zeppelin/saxon/ rainbow/ wasp/ guns and roses / thin lizzy
I think that said in an interview that all three of them were coming down with the flu during this concert.
Escapism and apologize are incredible
🤘
Don’t apologize for being honest, they’ll always be a couple of fans (of any band) who love them a little too much. Usually stuff from The Warning’s official channel is good to go without being messed with. ⚡️🤘
I agree with that one! That being said, even some TW songs that I don't care for on first listen, grow on me over time. There are little nuances that I've started to notice upon multiple listens - simple things like subtle differences in harmonies, bass lines, riffs, etc. It all builds and adds elements of surprise. I know that they all went to Berklee when they were young(er), and that may have added to their ability to write so well.
what you see is what you get.
Much better with the volume stabilizer turned off!!
If you appreciate songs that build throughout, this is the band for you. If you want to get punched in the face from the get go and with a guitar solo, you may be best off moving forward with another band. TW can do it but they'll only add a solo if it fits the song.
🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥
Excellent my friend... excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE👑 QUEENS OF ROCK IS KEEPING US FED🤘⚡🤘RORH CHECK OUT THE SONG ' QUEEN OF THE MUDER SCENE '
And Their Newer songs have better Melodies. Hell You Call A Dream LIVE Pepsi Center or Automatic Sun Tecate Pa'l Norte or MTV EMA's is a must watch...
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes, I get what you mean. For instance, I like reactors with a little bit more of an energy level instead of the heroin vibe. But to each their own.
😂so now because i dont freak out over things i have heroin vibe…thats the first time ive heard that
❤✌🤘⚡🔥
They are sisters , Dany the guitarist really does not do much shredding , she’s more of a riff rhythm guitarist , solos are few and far between and pretty simple just enough to compliment the track .
Listen aminosity in the pepsi center
They do solos when the song calls for it. Not when you do.
Your acting like i can change the track by my thoughts…simply i really dig guitar solos and that section to me could have had one
They wrote that when they were 15 13 10
And heres there's the kicker now in 2024l dany the vocalists is 24 pau the drummer is 22 and ale the bassists is 19 theses young women at such an young age have more stage presance talent personality in there little finger than you me most bands out there today
Do you want darker???? The songs of the Queen of the Murder Scene are really dark. The lunario concert is the best proof of that.
⚠️ ⚡ 🇲🇽 ⚡ ⚠️
Great singers but Dany is the rocker of the two and Pau is more of the ballad
A song structural expert? How big and well known is your band? The song needs this, the song needs that there. Pfffth!
Have to say I agree with you. He wants a guitar solo and to spice up Pau's vocals. Not his fault, but, at the moment he isn't getting it. However if he sticks with this he might begin to change how he sees them. The Warning are a wee bit different and that's one of the reasons that I love them.
I am a metal fan from the beging a true metal fan from the 70s 80s when metal was metal and not this death black crap of noise and screaming
There is truly nothing worse than the grunting, screaming garbage that seems to be a recognised form of rock these days.
I took it as too negative.
OK, so you can show us how to do this without plane voices and no latin accent and all that shit you said.
