    The error is known as a Cycle Cycle Frag, its an irritating issue as it can be anything wrong with it. Luckily I have found that on most occasion I have been successful with two systems being the smaller capacitors located around the clock capacitor, controller connectors and the power connector and has brought them back to life. However, I cannot prove or confirm whether this is the case, I did try Vince's repair on it prior, and it did not work, it was only after recapping the whole motherboard. Very strange. :O

      Hi there, and thanks for the info! Will give this a shot to see if it revives the system.

    Always use them there low impedance capacitors. On Mouser you can also specify the physical dimensions of the caps in addition the electrical specs.

    Anecdotally... My 1.2 XBox worked (poorly) before I replaced the same 3 capacitors near the CPU. Mine were also boiled out. After I initially replaced the caps, my box started the same cycle error. I actually watched your initial video looking for a fix. In my case, I figured it must be linked to the one thing I had done. I reflowed the caps and it fixed it for me. I assume it was a cold solder joint. Something you might try if you haven't already.

      Thanks, that's some good info to know. Will take that into consideration on a revisit.

    Is the problem with the power supply board or the processor board?! Please reply my device too

      I'm inclined to say it's the mainboard that's acting up. But, I have been able to source another power supply, and will test that out as well in an upcoming video.

      Hi there, and thanks. :)
      Not fixed as yet, but I've got some of the missing capacitors shipped, as well as a different power supply to try it out with. Honestly, I've been loathe (lazy?) to open up that original Xbox again, but after dealing with the PS2 and it's insane jigsaw puzzle architecture, it should be a walk in the park.
      Stay tuned, and I'll try to upload something within the next few weeks if possible!

    I'm having a boot up problem with an Xbox that I picked up from FB market.
    It’s a hard modded version 1.1 with a Aladdin chip and clock capacitor removed. I already ruled out that the mod chip, HDD, SATA/IDE adapter are not the issue by swapping them out from a working console. This leads me into believing that’s it’s hardware related like a bad capacitor or overheating or something. I’m stuck and not sure where to start. Also, I was able to get it to successfully boot into dashboards twice but only for a very short period and then it would freeze. I removed most of the caps and tested them using a fluke meter with the capacitance feature and they all seem to read fine. When I put everything back to stock. I get error code 16. let me know if you guys have any idea what it could be. Thanks 🙏

      Not sure about this one, but research seems to say that error 16 is common and can be ignored on a modded xbox (related to losing the date/time after being unplugged). So, you may be possibly chasing after a red herring...
      Though I doubt this is the culprit, but have you checked the thermal paste?
      If anyone else has a suggestion, feel free to chime in.

      Hi there, still waiting for the last batch of capacitors to arrive from China. In the meantime, I've managed to locate another Xbox with what I hope is an identical power supply. I'll have a video soon where I try to switch the power supply over, just to eliminate it from the equation (and hopefully get it working, if it is the power that's wonky).

    • @shrimplyobsessed
      @shrimplyobsessed 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@IRVERA23-po1uo I did an oscilloscope probe between 2 Xboxes; a known good power supply and the power supply in the bad Xbox. There was a noise difference between the two, indicating a possible bad power supply, however switching power supplies did not affect the error on my Xbox. Sadly the Xbox is now a parts piece, there's nothing else I can do. It's possible the power supply could have helped but I know the clock cap exploding did a number on the components around it
