Your video along with the original one helped me fix my subwoofer. The tricky part was to clamp to the chip
My eror it was 0101, but I solved with a reflow with a heat gun. After reflow, at the first boot, he show same error like your console, but I pressed ok and the console started normaly. After 15 hours of games, my console still work perfect. Xbox 360 Slim, Trinity.
Hey, do you got instagram? Maybe you can help me to get rid of my xbox original ring of deaths im to stupid
So you make a video with no solution? Nice!
It's called a FRAG error, it is not called red ring of death for the original Xbox, only the 360. The only case where the OG Xbox just shows a red ring (either flashing or solid) is an EEPROM error which is usually from someone modding the system, or the EEPROM self-corrupted and needs to be reflashed.
My string is polarized so how do I find the bad bulb if the hot wire is the one going to the back of the string?
You should be able to do the same procedure, but just use the back of the string as your "starting point". i.e. If you test the halfway point and there's no power, pick the second halfpoint relative to the back of the string, NOT the front of the string. As long as the hot wire that's running to the back of the string is unbroken, you should be fine. Just use the tester to make sure that it's showing hot at the end of the string first.
I would draw a P or a square on the sanded side to be safe for the proper device.
I had a OG Xbox to do that
My gear is loose. How would I tighten it.
It helped me a lot, thank you for the information, I already repaired mine, only 2 fuses, thank you
WHY DIDN'T YOU MAKE THIS VIDEO AT LEAST 15 YEARS AGO!!!! 🤪😜🤪😝
This was the Bane of Mt grandad's life, my nan had so many old tins of Quality Street that were full of light strings and other with bulbs. 😂
How do you take the back off .i need to change av cords
Hi, and thanks for watching. The Atari is back at my buddy's place, and I don't have any clear pictures of the back of the unit. I'll ask my friend to send some pictures over, and post an update afterwards for you. Though, and just shooting blind here, if there are no obvious screws, check if there are any hidden under the legs or stickers.
Any solution for LEDs?
Just double-checked and used the same method for two different LED strings - a 120V one, and one that uses a 30v stepdown transformer. Same method seemed to work for both of them. The only caveat was (and I'm assuming this was due to bridge rectification) that one of the strings didn't want to reverse the flow of current when I turned the plug upside down - so, had to end up working from the far end of the light string, rather than from the bulb closest to the plug. Also, I'm assuming that this method will not work with a USB powered light string, as the voltage may probably be too low.
Hey did you ever return to the ps2? Or did you just give up on it
Haven't given up - just haven't had enough time. I did pick up a parts unit about a month ago, so hoping to have... something soon.
@@DiscountSasquatch Oh great! The parts unit might give luck on the project

Thanks, and glad you were able to get it fixed! Though, most of the credit should go to ZJ on this.
Hello, the more stick you populated often makes RAM unstable, and usually the advertised speed is guaranteed on 2 sticks only (especially since that's what most people is buying and putting on their system anyway). Since you populate all four that may explain the need to downgrade the speed. I think that particular kit is rated stable at 4000 for 1R, 3600 for 2R and 3200 for 4R which may explain why the expo profile offered was 4000 in the beginning. Doesn't really matter anyway since around 3200-3600 is the sweet spot for AM4. Most importantly hope you have fun on your new system!
Thanks for watching, and thanks for the info - I had suspected that using four sticks would be detrimental to the speed.
i took diazepam, before upgrading to 64 gb ram. chrome is doing illegal settlement on my ram.
Usually when you enable xmp it also raises the ram voltage to 1.35v, if you manually set it to 3600mhz it most likelly didnt change the voltage and i guess that why it wasnt stable at 3600mhz. So i think you can set it to 3600mhz but also need to raise the voltage to 1,30~1.35v. Also you may be able to undervolt the cpu at least 100mv, at least for my ryzen 3600 it set the vcore at 1.4v if set to auto, and i was able to set it to 1.275v and its stable.
Thanks, I really appreciate the info. However, it looked like the auto function did have the voltage set to 1.34 for 3600. Still, I did try manually punching in both 1.3 and 1.35, but neither seemed to work. The CPU undervolt appears to be working though. I think I may just not have good luck when playing the silicon lottery. Will pin this comment in case it helps someone else!
@DiscountSasquatch well my friend asked me to tune up his system and i was t able to get xmp on hes 3600 memory too, it didnt even got it to 3200 stable so he decided to let it at stock 2666mhz as he doesnt have much knowledge and didnt want to waste more time fidling about, in hes case he have a crappy biostar MB and my guess that is hes problem.
Quite true, it could have been a lot worse for me in terms of speed.
Btw, thermal paste is supposed to squeeze out. All that should be left is the tiny amount to fill microscopic imperfections in the machining. Glad you found the actual fix tho!
In the UK this is sold as the VAX Blade 4. While it is to be expected that you have to remove the brush bar occasionally to remove the build up of hair, hair gets behind the brush bar drive and gets into the bearing. The bearing itself is fitted into the plastic shell of the brush bar. Hair gets in there and eventually seizes the bearing. This will either result in the drive cog being stripped, or the bearing spinning in the plastic casing until the plastic starts melting. The belt tension then drops off as the brush bar is no longer being held in its correct position. It is also common for the casing to crack as yours has during the jolt from the initial seize up. Build up of hair behind the brush bar drive (inner bit) is not visible when the bar is removed it is not possible to see the damage building up. You could of course remove the inner drive (yes that is a left handed thread) regularly and remove any build up, but this is a glaring design fault that mars an otherwise good product. A lot of people are reporting the wheels breaking off as well. There is no fix really and no spares so you can. Mine is very helpfully just out of warranty so i am stuck with buying a new floor head for £60 that i know is liable to fail as the original one did. If anyone knows whether the Blade 5 floor head fits that would be useful!
Puts a review on youtube... " i didnt even bother taking a picture of it" dude...wtf is the point then? Youve literally uploaded NOTHING
Just go on Google images and look up Wendy's burger combo, they changed nothing about the combo but slapping a SpongeBob logo on the packaging
i only eat fast food once or twice a year but the rubbish is worse than it use to be. my parents were right all along. im glad my dad only won on the horses once or twice a year
You could have put together a better review than this. Way too short and you didn't back up your negative feedback at all. I am pretty Jacked about the burger and this review didnt even give me reasons to feel any other way,
Quite right on your part, but I saw red after paying that much for such lackluster branding/packaging. Also, genuinely curious here, but if you've tried it since, what did you think?
In case anyone's wondering why I sound so mad over a fast food meal, those three combos cost me just over $50, which is another rant in itself. However, my wife and daughter, who are the real Spongebob fans in the family, were also pretty disappointed over the "afterthought" nature of this brand deal...

However, my wife and daughter, who are the real Spongebob fans in the family, were also pretty disappointed over the "afterthought" nature of this brand deal...
We got ours unfortunately from a passing of family on my wife’s side of the family. I hooked it up today and started playing. I heard a soft pop and my game froze. Tried turning it off and back on again and got the red green flashing with the error message. I didn’t see what error code it was. I was baffled because I never had an issue with the original Xboxes doing this in the past.
Thanks for watching, and so sorry to hear that. It's possible that yours may not be in as rough a condition as this one though. If you're comfortable doing so, you can try opening it to check for any bulging capacitors, or any other obvious problems. That pop may have also been a capacitor blowing out as well, so do be careful. At the very least (any assuming it's not a version 1.6) the clock capacitor will need to be removed.
@@DiscountSasquatch I couldn’t tell if it was error code 01 or 07 as the tv I have cuts off the top for some reason so I couldn’t tell. The pop I heard was like when you open a bottle of pop and you get that hiss. It was kept in a dry place thankfully and was put up. I have no idea how to go about getting it fixed as I don’t want to get rid of it.
I could be wrong, but I don't think error 01 is a thing. If it's error 07, it may be the hard drive. Though, to be frank, that sound you described does resemble the death throes of a capacitor, not the hard drive. Edit: Don't take this as gospel. I'm just an idiot on the internet.
@@DiscountSasquatch thanks for your input :) I’m still looking into it. Trying to see where I can get it fixed.
I would get a schematic and start trouble shooting the eject line and checking the components around the video circuits. Their are resistor arrays attached to video out chip IC211 on the service manual. A short test on capacitors around the cpu and gpu is a quick way to test if they are dead or shorted.. I'm not 100% on this next statement but I think each bank of resistor arrays (RB246, RB244, RB242) is for the R G and B signals to the IC211 witch is the video DAC. they are an easy thing to test. Both the chips you are replacing are motor controllers. They wont help the video out issue. I would start with the video issue first as that will tell weather its worth chasing the motor issue.
That's some good info right there! Thanks! Will check out the video-out components on the next re-visit.
Hey man, I have the exact same issue as your other GameCube board. Have you figured anything out on it? I don't see a dollow up video :( I don't believe it's a reballing the CPU issue, I just attempted to install a pluto 2ii on my dol-101, and now I'm having this exact issue. It was perfectly functional before, after a few enamel wires were installed it all of a sudden killed my GameCube, so yeah i don't think its a cpu issue. I think the AVE N-DOL chip on the board may have went bad, which is gonna be sad for me 😅 Edit: through trail and error with diagnostics, I've found that my fuse is receiving 12v but my power regulatory circuit is not functioning correctly, which is interfering with actually turning on the CPU & GPU, some sort of protection is tripped, and it cuts off the power to the coils in the circuit, cutting power to everything lol I believe this is the same issue as you, and I'm currently looking for the Power Regulatory Circuit schematics for the DOL-101 (Not the power regulatory board for the DOL-001) if anyone has em lemme know.
Hi there, thanks for the info. I do intend on re-visiting that GameCube again, but just haven't had enough time. I also did pick up another broken GameCube recently, so may possibly try to assemble a fully working one out of those two... hopefully. Let me know if you make any headway with those schematics too!
That looks like a magic v7 mod chip. As someone who has doen many ps2 mod chip installs I would call that a verry slopy install. It should be mounted on the qfp chip next to the bios chip and have muchshorter wires and they should be managed with a dot of glue to hold them in place. Also when installing the drive ribon cables its easyer to leave the metal shield with the drive clips off and putting it on after the cables are in.
Agreed, it's like a caveman installed that chip. Thanks for the tip on reconnecting the cables as well!
The bushing on this gear is full of hair. There is a snap ring on the inside. You can take it off and pull it apart and clean out the hairs. I dropped liquid candle wax into gap between the key for the brush and the housing. I am hoping that the wax is minimizing the gap between housing and key so that it will let through less hairs.
I didn't even think about that. Will have to go back and clean that bushing. Good call on the wax - let me know if it works out long term.
New Sub: Dryden, Michigan. Never got to try one back in the Day. Just picked one up in Beautiful Condition, but it is having issues loading games. Seems like Tapping Controller one, or Occasionally Tapping the console itself causes the Screen to Glitch, but Typically it will not load past the BIOS Screen: Removing/Replacing a Cart will bring the BIOS Screen back up, but some of the Letters Randomly have Different Colors and the screen just sits there. The Cartridge Slot Itself doesn't seem to take a Cart directly in, You have to Rock it.. I just Tore it Down, everything looks nice, No Dust even. Best Video I've found so Far. Thanks
Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed it! For the glitching issues, first thing I would check is the capacitors. Old capacitors do exhibit that type of glitchy behaviour, and it could be a (relatively) easy fix if that's the case.
@@DiscountSasquatch Definitely going to by my first Shot, Looking Up Cap Replacement Kits this afternoon
Sorry, I missed this reply. Did those caps fix the issue for you?
" F A W E R D"
I want new belt for it , i have same problem Which size of belt should I get?? Thank you
Sorry for the late reply, but I got a pack of 147-3M-6 belts for it - 147mm length. HOWEVER, even though that's the belt that Hoover recommends, it seems to be an extremely bad fit and is way too slack (slips a lot once it heats up). I would say try a 144mm at the most... Overall, I'm not impressed with the build quality of this vacuum.
Hey just wondering when will you return to the ps2 with the magic smoke?
Hi there, yep I'll probably be giving this one another shot next month. Word of warning though - I don't have high hopes for it... Thanks for watching though!
A lot of people thought this one wouldn’t red ring..
Ive damaged that ribbon cable before too, I think it happens to most ppl who crack these open for the 1st time. Not sure i'd run jumpers long term tho, id find a parts board to grab those 0 resistors from.
I do believe you're correct. I think I nicked that cable when poking around for a clip. As for those jumpers, I've got some resistors on the way from China, so we'll see it back on the operating table again in the future. I definitely agree with not doing that as a long term solution though - it's somewhat akin to replacing a fuse with a nail.
hey! I was having the same issue, and found this video super helpful! the belt, and the mechanism it spins on were fine in my vaccuum--but the horrible screeching noise remains! Would you recommend some oil on the mechanism that spins the cylindrical brush? this vaccuum sucks, but i don't want to toss it since it isn't that old!
Thanks for watching, and glad I could provide some (limited) help. There's a second video where I fix the warranty replacement vacuum that was sent out (and broke three months later... so, yeah, these are not great vacuums). th-cam.com/video/SF9grl8_nag/w-d-xo.html Not sure if I'd recommend the oil, as that may just end up getting all gummy once it starts incorporating itself with dirt. But, one thing I'd recommend checking is the condition of the mating surfaces on the roller. I had to end up filing down some bumps and nicks on the surface of that second vacuum for a similar reason iirc. Also, do a sanity check to make sure all hair is cleaned off, as it's easy to miss some on the end of the roller. Lastly, the default belt that comes with the vacuum does seem to be quite loose. I even ordered some replacements thinking it was worn out, but... yeah, those belts were also loose. If you have some heavy duty tape (this is not a permanent fix), you can try winding some around the roller so that the belt fits more snugly. If that eliminates the noise, you can try getting a belt that's maybe a few mm shorter? But, yeah, I got this vacuum for free and I feel ripped off... I hope this helps you though.
Oh trust me….that’s not the only original xbox with red ring of death
Exactly I Personally had one that red ringed on me after years
so i know some people are shitting on your teardown technique in the comments, but god damn this was an entertaining video. I appreciate you keeping in the flubs and foibles. and I hope you maybe do an RGH hack on this in the future! also, BONUS GAME, WOOOOOOOOOOOO
Thanks for watching! Glad I could provide some entertainment. :D And, I'm pretty sure this isn't the last time we'll see this 360 on the operating table...
I would recommend delidding the CPU, as there’s thermal paste underneath which needs to be replaced. Josh Davidson has a video on that, definitely recommend his channel as he’s an Xbox 360 expert
Thanks for watching! Delidding did cross my mind, but then I remembered Vince's attempt to delid a PS3 hah. I'll definitely take a look at that video though, and may do a follow-up where I try my luck at it.
Fwiw, delidding a 360 is very easy compared to PS3.
Hello guys, please can you tell me what kind of value is the WR 644 resistor, located next to the chip, because although so carefully I tried to put the clamps on the chip a couple of times because it was failing to read it, but I managed by mistake to undo the resistor there and never found it again. It's extremely small. Thank you!!!
I don't have the sub here anymore, but go to ZJ695000's video (linked in this video's description) and drop him a line. I believe he works on them all the time, and might be able to help you out.

The "little gasket thing" might be clumped hair tightened together. I've had that a few times. Hair shouldn't be able to get in there but somehow hair gets everywhere. Regards from a Tom :)
The official Vax repair video failed to realise that real-world gets dirty, grimly and worn. Also that there's usual more than 1 problem before 'normal' people, like my aspie self, get around to bothering to fix side-issues in our lives. Regards from a Tom :)
Ahh, I lifted the front lights off the plastic cover. Luckily it wasn't glued in. I hadn't thought of unplugging from the mbord. <shrugs> other than that my Vax repair was identical(ish). Thanks and regards from a Tom :)
Brilliant! :) This video was a huge help. I'd gotten stuck but unclipping the top panel gave access to the couple of screws that were blocking me. Different model, heck different make but similar enough to make sense. Thanks and regards from a Tom :)
Thanks, and glad I could be of help! Also, the build quality of these vacuums seems quite sub-par. The replacement that Hoover sent out also acted up within 3 months...
