    Mow! Just what I was looking for. My TX16S had been driving me crazy. I knew I had a full set of widgets programmed but I could not get them displayed on the main screen, until all was revealed at the 7 min 15 second mark. Pedantry is discouraged but this tiny little detail was buried away. I am so pleased that I found it. Time to put my money where my mouth is and make a donation to support your work.

    I like these basics a lot.
    Short and focussed, but so interesting and focussed that you can't wait for the next episode.
    Yes, in these moments you can wait or enjoy an episode from the playlist.
    Helps me a lot cause sometimes menu / command order seem to be not that logical to me or I'm simply not familiar enough with it.
    thx

    Thanks Lee, the Manual that comes w/the TX16S is only a "Quick Start Guide", I downloaded the "User Manual" today we'll see if it's more detailed in creating/arranging screens, models, etc... =)

    Fantastic Video. Very informative!
    I wander if it is at all possible to make the screen change conditionally.
    I was thinking of changing the background to red when the model is ARMED an to green when DISARMED

    Hi Lee,
    Really nice video on an area I seem to waste a lot of time on with this TX16S Radio. I’m assuming there is no easy way to replicate these Screens and copy / paste them from one model that’s fully set up the way you want it as a template, into your other models is there? I’ve tried to do this in Companion but that didn’t work.. seems like the only way is to do it one model at a time within each individual model .. right? Or am I missing something?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could setup a model memory and then copy that for new models but I am not aware of a way to copy widget layouts between models. If you find one, please let me know...

    • @jimsnodgrass8454
      @jimsnodgrass8454 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Painless360 Thanks Lee, I bet we’ll need to wait for a later release of Companion to be able to copy just these screen setups (alone) to other models. Duplicating the model as a template is a pretty good substitute in the interim but then each model has a lot of unique features I need to delete out. The display screens on the other hand Have lots of parameters that are common to most planes and it’s nice to have them set up like you did I think along with RSSI and Cels on the top menu line if there’s telemetry capability in the RCVR.

    Thanks for all your wonderful advice and help, just wondering though, do we need a computer to use companion or can we use a smart phone to programme and save to SD card

      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've not seen a phone app for OpenTX myself... everything you can do in companion is something that you can do on the radio. It's just a lot faster and handy to upgrade and backup your radio and model settings. Happy flying

    What's up with the 'Battcheck' widget? Seems like it'd be helpful but when I try and set it up with rxbat (or any bat telem for that matter) it just says 0.0v and 0%?

    Appreciate you. I have two issues that maybe you can help me with. For a second I saw your screen pop up with animated output slider bars. I cannot locate mine. Also, on your output page, you have directional arrows for each channel, I don't have those. What seems to be wrong?

    A very helpful primer for me, thanks. I have somehow deleted the default screen on my RMTX16S, I have set up a screen for a model following your description but cannot see how to transfer it to others. Do you know of a means of doing this please (there are over 20 models on the TX). I'd be most grateful.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure you can. The setup for each model is held on the SD card and from what I can see here they are not easily edited to copy that change. If you find a way, please let me know!

    Hi Lee,
    I need advise, but before that: thank you for your brilliant video channel. You have provided me with 99% of everything I needed to know regarding Taranis and now my Radio Master TX16S.
    I have one thing I need to know: how do I turn the widget on my screen for RXBT on? I'm using X8R and S8R recievers. I have tried deleting all sensors in Telemetry screen and then rediscovering them. In Logic and sSpecial Functions I do get Rxbt info and warnings.
    On the widget screen I have set source to Rxbt to support the battery widget, changed read in ideal battery cell to overall view, but thus far, despite trying various things, I just can't get the battery widget to display Rxbt value/ status?
    Please help.

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've just tried it here on the TX16s and it's not as simple as it should be is it! I'll look into it and if I get it working I'll make a video. There are 3rd party telemetry widgets that may be able to do it..

    • @robsamways3124
      @robsamways3124 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Lee.
      I figured it out. This is the way to get your Rxbt displaying the value on screen in a widget:
      1. Turn the module on.
      2. Select widget screen.
      3. Select widget setup.
      4. Scroll through screens until you find Roud value. (You actually need value option)
      5. Scroll through values to Rxbt and select.(WITH MODLE ON.)
      6. It will now show the Rxbt value!
      You will need to do this process for each screen, then again repeat gor each module turning then on.

    • @robsamways3124
      @robsamways3124 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Typo above....not module but Model/ plane.

    • @robsamways3124
      @robsamways3124 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another typo: Road value should read Rud Value. It seems to be the one that pops up representing "values" as a option.

It appears that this will be supported in version 2.6 of EdgeTx based on a post in RCGroups, but since I"m using OpenTX, that doesn't help much! I really appreciate your videos. You are a very effective teacher. Thank you.

    Im looking to get a new radio, is this the T16s pro? Is it worth the extra for the hall gimbals?
    Realistically, my two options are,the Jumper T8SG V2.0 With hall gimbals, or T16S no hall gimbles, or wait save more and get the T16S pro?

    • @anthonywitham2305
      @anthonywitham2305 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adam Plays: It's the RadioMaster TX16S which has hall effect gimbles. It's arguably better value and a better radio then the Jumper T16s pro. It has the in built 4 in 1 module. On the RC wing site the Jumper T8SG was $89.99 USD, Jumper T16 pro v2 1$69.99, hard to get, it's being replaced by the Jumper T18. Jumper T18 with Hall gimbles $159.99. RadioMaster TX16S $109.99. This has Hall effect gimbles a touch screen. (not working with the current OpenTX version , but is coming.) So for $20 more then the Jumper T8SG and $50 / $60 cheaper then the Jumper T16 / T18. You get a better radio. Painless has a video comparing the Jumper T18 v RadioMasterTX16: th-cam.com/video/V94oobB0O-U/w-d-xo.html.
      I'm not recommending RC wing, it was just a site I used for comparison for prices, I bought my Radio Master TX16s from Banggood. I also have the Jumper T16S with external module to which I fitted Hall gimbles. But in my opinion the RadioMaster is the better radio. Save up the extra money and buy a RadioMaster TX16s.

      Anthony Witham Very well stated, and I agree completely that the TX16S, at least as of today’s date is the best way to go. One other thing I think worth mentioning is their Radiomaster support via e-mail is very quick and effective as is asking almost any question on their Facebook or the RGGroups.com thread on this Radio.. it’s great. The heart if this radio is OpenTx and the DIY 4in1 Dev team supporting the MPM in it is really interesting. Great new features within that firmware pop up daily, so thats why I’m so excited to own this radio.
