      @@vitalliart927 ok, I haven't used the R9 system for quite awhile so I have forgotten just about everything about it. However, have you "Discovered New Sensors" yet in the Telemetry Page after receiver is bound to transmitter and both transmitter and quad are powered on? Furthermore,nthis FrSky link seems to indicate to me, the R9M receiver only has telemetry in the 25mw mode (us that correct)? See "Features" section of this link www.frsky-rc.com/product/r9m/ Also, your R9 system is not using ACCESS protocol is it?

    So, I had purchased the tx16s months ago when the craze happened. Watched your tx16s series to get fully set up the way I like it. Well, I sold it soon after because of the gimbal quality. Now I am back after purchasing the tx16s max. Thank you for the instructional videos, they are great! Side note, I love the gimbal improvement on this handset.

    Great video! Fast paced and concise. I'm coming from the Spektrum radio world, and just got a telemetry setup for a sailplane build. Learning both the OpenTX menu and picking/placing my telemetry data has been a bit overwhelming. This video helped a lot! Hi TMac,
    Congrats on another clear and concise video.
    If you don’t mind I like to make a suggestion for hopefully a useful video.
    I’ve seen a number of videos on tuning your quad, including yours and they’ve all been very useful. What I haven’t seen is a tuning video on:
    (1) the differences in tuning for a 1S or 2S or 4S and so on; and
    (2) if at all, what you need to consider changing for different battery cell sizes (850mAh vs 1200mAh).
    Thanks,
    Sam

      @TMacFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks bulu fish. At the 10:55 time mark of this video, I explain in order for you to see telemetry, you will have already had to "Discovered Sensors" in the Telemetry Page of your Model Setup menu in the transmitter. That means, you will need to have a telemetry receiver (such as Crossfire, FrSky XSR, R-XSR, etc.) connected to your flight controller correctly on your quad, bound to your transmitter, and "Discovered Sensors." Once that is all done, you should see Telemetry as an available option.

    Just installed a FS-iA6B in my drone to replace the FS0iA6 receiver. Was hoping to see some telemetry sensors. What I it shows after the discovery mode is TRSS, RQly,RSSI,RNse,RSNR. I am trying to see what the battery level is in the drone and also the number of satellites I receive. I've watched your videos a couple times but the hang up is I do not get the same read outs for choices for the above items. I use the Radiomaster TX16s. I'm a bit bummed out about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. Al

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Al! FlySky receivers' inherent (or "native") "telemetry" capability is not as robust as you see me using with Crossfire receivers. I believe you'll nee to connect external telemetry sensors to your FlySky FS-iA6B receiver to get the telemetry you're looking of. here's a short video explaining the voltage telemetry sensor th-cam.com/video/YIrwZ08ynNs/w-d-xo.html . Of course, you could always switch to a more robust (non FlySky) telemetry receiver using ACCST D16 protocol (such as RadioMaster R161 receiver) or Crossifre receiver with Crossifre external module attached to TX16S

    Great video!
    I can get telemetry values displayed on the top bar, but not in any of the widgets. For example, the battery check widget will always show zero. I have Vfas selected which displays in the top bar, but never in any of the widgets that relate to battery. The sensor is working ok and shows properly in the telemetry screen.
    I have the same issue on other models where I get my telemetry from my Neuron ESC. I can display on top bar but not on any of the widgets.

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't believe "battery check" is a normal "telemetry value." I think it is either a reference to an older Lua Script OR requires a separate external FrSky sensor. Are you using "Value" for your widgets and then selecting one of the avaialable telemetry values for your specific telemetry receiver as the "Value?" For instance, the telemetry value of battery voltage using Crossfire is RxBt whereas for FrSky S Port telemetry it is VFAS. I think I may have gone over it in the video and/or have SPort telemetry values available through a link in this videos description

    • @raptr49
      @raptr49 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TMacFPV Thank you for the reply. I have it figured out. You are correct that the "Battery Check" is a widget in the latest release SD card release, but it is apparently not working. The radio allows me to select Battery Check as a widget and then allows me to select the sensor, but it will never display no matter what sensor I choose. Yet these sensors will display anywhere I use the Value widget. For now I'm happy as is, I even have my Yaapu working perfectly. Thanks again.

    Great video! Is there a way to make the top bar global so you don't have to set it up for every model? Or copy and paste it? If I have only radio info on the top bar it wouldn't change from model to model.

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Dale! That's a great question. I am not aware of a way to do this. It appears the Top Menu bar is also Model specific. What I do is make one model, get iot setup the way I want it, then copy it for each other model I create (moist of my models are setup almost exactly the same and I therefore want the same info displayed). Any minor changes changes to the newly created model, I just modify those. If you don't already have it, the TX16S user Manual can be found on this site: www.radiomasterrc.com/support

    • @TMacFPV

      I've never had a problem with the displayed GPS coordinates being incorrect. Perhaps they're being input into Google Maps incorrectly, or an issue with your GPS module?

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jonas! Model Name is not a "Value." "Vlaues" are telemetry values, switches, global variables, etc. You do have the option of using a Modelbmp which is a different option than "Value" (image of your model). If you want text of your model name, you'll need to use the "Text" option

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      2 things to look at. Go to Global Functions. Make GF1 (or any other empty line), ON, Volume. Then scroll over to the field you would normally select the slider. Instead of searching for it in menu, simply physically move it. It should auto fill for you. If it doesn't, back out of this to main menu. Go to System Menu. Page over to Hardware. Scroll down under "Pots" make sure you see LS (for left slider) and RS (for right slider). If you don't, may want to check cable connections for them inside the radio. If you still have an issue, could be defective slider. Might want to contact RadioMaster Support here www.radiomasterrc.com/pages/contact

    TMac, I just ordered the Radiomaster T16S, but I'm still puzzled as to which of the new FrSky Receivers can bind to its internal protocol module. I called Aloft Hobbies and they wouldn't say.

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Larry! Short answer is basically any FrSky receiver that does not have ACCESS protocol firmware installed on it. The RadioMaster TX16S has an internal multi-protocol module. All of the receiver protocols supported by the multi-protocol module (along with their descriptions) can be found here: www.multi-module.org/using-the-module/protocol-details Normally, when using an FrSky receiver with ACCST protocol firmware on it, you'll want FrSky X or FrSky X2 (see descriptions). Some BNF whoop-type quads, you may need FrSky D (D8).

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the type of receiver you're using. Different receivers use different values for the "model's" battery voltage. For instance, TBS Crossfire telemetry value for model battery voltage is RxBt. SPort telemetry value for model battery voltage is VFAS. Both of those (Crossfire & SPort) telemetry values are in the links provided above in t6his video's description. If you're using a different type of receiver other than those (different telemetry), you'll have to find out what the model battery voltage is for that type of receiver telemetry and ensure you have "Discovered New Sensors" in your model's telemetry page of your transmitter

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@albertherlicka4078 A look at that model's spec's on product page show s the AS3X receiver uses DSM Spektrum protocol. All of the protocols supported by the TX16s multi-protocol module are on a website at multi-module.org. I have linked to the specific DSM protocol here for you: www.multi-module.org/using-the-module/protocol-details/dsm Scroll down to the Telemetry section. After you have bound the receiver to the transmitter, with both the receiver and transmitter powered on, you'll need to "Discover New Sensors" on the Telemetry Page of your model menu. This should bring up all of the available telemetry values your receiver transmits. I do not know if this specific receiver has a telemetry value in the Spektrum DSM protocol for transmission to an OpenTX transmitter or not. Nor do I know if it is "fly-by" telemetry as alluded to in the Telemetry section at the link I have provided. Its a start for you. If it doesn't help you out, you may want to explore using a different "full-telemetry" receiver with a different protocol.

    really awsome video and is the one i had been looking for long...one question: i want my tx16s to tell me thru voice when my gps on the quad is locked so that i can start flying. similarly i want to have voice notification for arming (when armed or disarmed)......these voice notifications are very useful. can you please guide? thanks

      First, you'll need a telemetry receiver that gives you the value of the number of satellites you have acquired. With TBS Crossfire receiver, this telemetry value for # of satellites acquired is "Sats." With S Port telemetry, the value MAY be Tmp2 (I do not know this for certain). Then, if you're using Betaflight, you'll need to know/set the minimum # of satellites for a "lock." The lowest number available in Betaflight is 5, so, I'll use that for my example. This means, when you have 5 satellites acquired, you'll have a "lock." So, set up a logical switch in OpenTX to activate when "Sats" > 4. Then go into the Special Functions Page and set up a Special Function using the Logical Switch Line# you just created to play a voice "Track" which you can make yourself using this video as a guide th-cam.com/video/RSxD9Th1VDo/w-d-xo.html . With regards to a voice warning when the quad is armed or disarmed, I don't understand the need since you'll have to arm or disarm it yourself, however, to implement what you want. Set up an arm/disarm switch in Betaflight like you would any other switch in your mixes Page. Then, go to Special functions Page and set up a Special Function to play a Track when the switch is flipped with a voice warning you can make yourself (using the video I just linked) saying "Armed" or "Disarmed."

      @@TMacFPV i heard that t16s already has telemetry function. so do i still need telemetry receiver? i have one that i use to connect to my mobile and use ground station android app...im using APM2.8 FC (kind of pixhawk)....i connected telemetry tx to that and it works fine on my mobile connected to telemetry receiver....do i need TBS crossfire as essential?

      @@1979zeesh The TX16S and all OpenTX transmitters require a receiver connected to your RC model that can transmit telemetry values (i.e. a telemetry receiver). There are other telemetry receivers besides Crossfire, however, you need to ensure whatever telemetry receiver you are using can transmit the telemetry values (such as # of GPS satellites) back to the TX16S transmitter. I wa sonly using Crossfire as an example. You'll need to research the appropriate receiver for your own purpose

    Can you explain how to set a maximum height alarm please?

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure smiffy788, here we go:
      1. Makes sure you have a receiver that can transmit your altitude using GPS back to your OpenTX transmitter (such as a TBS Crossfire Nano receiver). with Crossfire receiver, this telemetry value is "Alt"
      2. Go to the logical Switches Page of your Model setup in your OpenTX transmitter and setup a logical switch with the following fields: on any open (not used) line (such as L01): 1st column is a>x, 2nd column Alt, 3rd column is 121.9 (desired altitude for alarm such as for 400 ft you would need 121.9 meters), skip 4th column, 5th column put in how long you want to be above this max altitude before setting off the alarm (i.e. 2 seconds?), skip last column. Exit out of Logical Switches Page. Go to next page in your model setup (Special functions). On any open (unused line such as SF1) of Special Functions Page insert the following into the column fields: column 1 is L01 (the logical Switch number you had just created), column 2 is "Play Track, Column 3 is the name of the sound track you want to be played (I have recorded my own custom sound track that just says "too high" and named it tohigh). You can record your own custom sound track using the process I explain in this video: th-cam.com/video/RSxD9Th1VDo/w-d-xo.html . If you're unable to follow this explanation and require further info, please email me at: tmac@tmacfpv.com

    Is it possible to audio the telemetry so i can hear the voltage of the battery if i want

    • @TMacFPV
      @TMacFPV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, if you're using a telemetry receiver that can transmit that value back to the transmitter such as RxBat for Crossfire or VFAS for FrSky telemetry. Set up a logical switch to activate when the voltage gets below a user set value, then a Special Function to play a track using the Logical Switch ad an input. I think I've demonstrated this in a few videos I've done on this transmitter and/or Jumper T16 transmitter
