I'm with you, I wear a 4E width in New Balance. I had a pair of the Original ATAC boots that were great, but the newer ones are no longer wide enough to be comfortable.
I've tried a few 5.11 shoes based off your recommendation but they aren't wide enough. Even the ones that come in a wide was too narrow for me. Apparently all yout tactical bros have skinny feet.
My biggest issue with the Norris was the break in period. The back of the shoe is thick and sturdy which isn’t bad but, at least for me, from the heel to ankle was to steep off an angle. After 6 months of everyday use, they’re very comfy and I still enjoy them 2 years later. Still in good condition, sole is barely worn, and the laces have held up surprisingly well. Definitely want to try a pair of the stache tho

After I retired, I spent enough time barefoot or in barefoot shoes that my toes went back to a normal anatomical position, and shoving them back into my Norrises ends up being uncomfortable over the course of the day, and my pinky and ring toes end up getting crushed. That pointed toe look just doesn't play well with human anatomy, especially with the anti-puncture insole. If the toe box was more like the ATAC, I'd like them even more. Always found my ATACs and ATAC 2.0s to be unbelievably comfortable.
If they ever make a variant with the puncture resistant layer, I'll replace the Norris, because who wouldn't want Chuck clones in all black? But no puncture resistance really = no buy though, because in my line of work that's proven indispensable.

Hopefully they compare well, recently got two pairs black lows and multi cam highs and they've been the first of that style of boot that I can wear without feeling like the bottom of my heel bone is gonna poke out the bottom of my foot after 11 hours. Even less with Dr scholes arch supports.

What exactly IS, ballistic nylon? I've heard that term sooo many times and each one looks a little different. Does it resist bullet penetration? Is it truly ballistic rated? The traction looks useless. I'm sure it's fine on carpet or sidewalks but watch out for any hard, wet surface like hardwood floors or linoleum. Definitely avoid any oil spills.
Wtf?! Why would you listen to James and discontinue the Norris?? The bootlike qualities, reinforced toe, and puncture resistance is what made it great and set it apart from the competition! There’s already a bunch of brands that offer Chuck type sneakers. I loved my Norrii!
damn no wonder the norris was 33$ for me lmao love the shoe, a little tight in the toe box and has that annoying hard plastic cover from the top of the shoe on the inside as well, that hurts your foot, i just loosen up the shoe and its fine. hope the hard plastic shit isnt onthe inside

Damn, big disappointment hearing they won't be out until end of the year. Oh well I tend to only wear boots in the Winter anyway so I'll still pick up a pair when they come out.

It is. If it goes well, that's one thing I wanted to change but after 2 years of development, 5.11 wanted to run the traditional toe first.
