Fantastic explanation/guide! I just picked up the game last week and have been searching for a good video guide. Your guides are the first ones I've come across that explain things succinctly and in an order that makes sense. Thank you!
Great video dude. The strength rank by the way, is that specific factions strength rank, so Nordland was 32 strength. The lower the rank, the better, for instance, yours was 4; meaning you are the 4th most powerful faction on the map at that time.
Thanks. This is excellent. I have been slowly toying around with the game and reading some guides on PC Gamer. I am hoping to feel the hook of this game soon. I hear it's great.
Thank you so much! I´m new in game and it literally devoured me (run out of money, public order, etc.) Very helpfull and i will surely check your other guides :)
Does anyone know if Public Order and Province building work the same way in the latest Rome and Shogun Total Wars that they do in Warhammer? I have all three but Ive only dabbled a bit in Rome and Shogun so far. Around 27:00, you discuss the fact that you cant really take provinces with incompatible locations. Is it possible to burn those cities down? Im playing dwarves and have yet to enter into Vampire lands, though I figure its going to be inevitable. They keep making minor incursions into the northern lands which Ive already made my confederates.
You can take everything if you use the mod that allows everyone but chaos to take any settlement. To answer your question you can sack and raze them yes.
U can always raze a city if u win a battle on it. I dont think dwarf can colonise vampire citys but u can ALWAYS raze it no mather what faction ownes it.
oh nice ... i just bought my first total war game . this is a must watch for me not that smart when it comes to diplomacy and terr control and btw your intro man its wowzers +1
+Magic Mike thanks so much for the compliment! I love total war games and once you learn the essentialechanics much of the information is in older titles and works in newer ones as well.
Realy good video but I have a question from a friend of mine, how do you re build ruins ?? I don't now if my friend has to unlock something or he just can't find the botton to do it, we need some help
Ok so on normal difficulty it seems that as the Empire you just need extremely upgraded Spearmen or halberdiers right? And you dont need anything more to kill other races...
There's no real tutorial. This is my first hardcore strategy game. I mean I've played Real Time strategy games before but this is something totally different. First total war game. So I struggle a lot but this video helped me a lot thank you so much. But I don't understand somethings. 1. How should I use spearman? What are they for 2. How do heros work in campaign? How should I use them? 3. Armored vs shielded? 4. How does ambushing work?
You probably found the answer to your questions by now by yourself, but well why not: 1. Against large units(Monster Infantry for example) or cavalry. 2. This one is a bit more tricky, because it depend of your army, the enemy army, what faction etc. Heroes have multiple use, i would need to make an essay to explain it. 3. Armored means that any unit without armor piercing won´t do much damage. "Shielded" is the chance of blocking arrows. 4. This is one is also a bit tricky. I would need to demonstrate it. But overall there is a stance you can use in the open world map (you could for example put one weak army, and put a strong army in ambush mode near it, the AI will take the bite and you will kick his ass). You can also ambush on the battlefield my keeping units hidden in forest for example. Not every unit can hide. You can also intercept units who tried to move through tunnels (Greenskins, Dwarfs).
on my campaigns I always run into a problem of not being able to recruit more then a couple of the better units (Longbeards, greatswords, ironbreakers) I use some mods but nothing crazy what am I doing wrong?
Are you running armies with large amounts of weaker units? Because getting rid of some of your weaker units is one place to start. Are you making income buildings and buildings that produce a resource that you can trade? Because that is important for a nice economy. There's not really anything else I can help on without more specifics considering there is a lot in this sort of game.
i play on normal, never finished a campaign yet...everytime chaos tunrs up the ai sends 3 full armys (8 heroes and lords with like 50 full units) to rape the world, how do you dfend let alone attack back and push them back north???
Just abuse the ambush feature. There's also a skill in the empire lords called lightning (it prevents armies from stacking so that you can attack each armies one by one) I recommend specializing one lord for campaign skills to unlock this.
@@yumul3072 DONT, it's a shadow of its former self, garbage fire indeed, just wait 3-4 months until it's patched into oblivion with mods is my advice, trash, I was so gutted, more people actively playing wh2 than wh3...by about 10-15 thousand people so that tells u everything, so gutted I spent £40 (instead of £55 on steam, cdkeys ftw) but I can barely bring myself to play it tbh, so just hang on a bit matey
Plus its all about chaos 80% most of the time and I don't (scratch that, I hate chaos factions) play chaos...great, protecting walls and playing as a faction I hate, 4/10 at best, wh2 is a 9/10 from me

Awesome! Glad to know I am now number 1 in my game then :)
There is a tutorial interface you know that?. Also it´s quite obvious most of it...
Best governance guide on TH-cam, thanks!!!

Thanks Nuke, what about to my first question, do you know whether those functions work the same in Rome II or Shogun III?
Never played those.
kk no worries thanks for the other comment

NuclearUnicorn7 I figured it out it was because certain units require more then one of certain buildings to make more thanks though
Ty for this

@@yumul3072 yea lol, I do both these things 2 years later 😂 still playing it with mods even though I own Warhammer 3 (it's crap)
