  • After racing at Summit with CCS this past weekend I hung out on Monday to do a track day with Evolve GT. It was a great day and I managed to get back into the 1:19's on Summit Main. I cannot thank Evolve enough for having me out and being one of my supporters for years! I got to do some awesome riding with some even better friends!

Nice job man! I was tracking my 10R but decided to build an R6 to race, at 44 years old it not worth the added risk racing unlimited class.

I hope to see some uploads from you this season man! You are so good on the brakes dude. Question - if you unload the front enough it can cause a lowside right? Does that mean in order to learn to brake deep into the corner you need to commit and trust the front and not tippy toe on the brakes? Can engine breaking ever cause a lowside at full lean? Thanks man! Good luck this season.

Yes, the most important part of entering a corner properly is to keep load on the front tire, but at the same time not too much load. It is a fine balance between braking too hard too deep and not enough.
Engine braking can cause a lowside but only if the amount of engine braking suddenly increases as lean angle and speed decreases. In reality you should never be down shifting at high lean angle without blipping the throttle to match revs. Dropping a gear while at lean angle without other measures being made can easily result in a lowside.

In this video you mention your bike is "set up so aggressively it needs to go fast to feel good", can you elaborate on what that means, exactly, suspension, ergonomics? what makes it tough to go slower on.

Suspension, between the calving and the spring rate if the bikes isn’t being riden aggressively it won’t get the suspension to the point where it works the best
