      John thanks for watching. Madness is not my boat. The captain is new Madness and new to sailing. Very capable guy and learning fast! Stay tuned I am sure that I will have more videos of her soon.

      John I am sure her new owner would love to trade stories with you and learn more about her.

    So great to see newer videos of this boat thank you! Looks like such fun to sail. I particularly enjoyed the ama-flying for the way it really illustrated how light and responsive it is, and the way you show how much simpler it is to shunt than one might think. But mostly I love how smooth and slippery the boat seems to sail. Keep having fun and sharing!

      thanks for the kind comments. Madness is an amazing boat. I am very appreciative every time her captain has me on board. I am sure there will be more videos coming.

      I agree. and madness is kind of like motorcycling. As a passenger, you are out there in the elements. watching the water go by literally under your seat. great fun

      Thank you so much for the kind words. Madness offers some unique challenges for making videos on board as a guest. hopefully I will be able to get some better videos of shunting, etc.

    I noticed the front rudder / board was only partially lifted, was this intentional?

    • @sailingin-tuitionwithchuck
      @sailingin-tuitionwithchuck  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. The main hull has two retractable rudders; one at each end. When under way, the "aft" rudder is used and the "bow" rudder is retracted.

      @ of course, but in the video the forward rudder looked to be only lifted about 6” rather than fully lifted as I have seen elsewhere. I did hear that the front one is sometimes lowered for sail balance
      I am considering building one.

      Madness is for sale. The owner is buying a larger one. Madness is hull #1 and was professionally built by CLC

    Why would you intentionally keeping the speed down? Are you afraid of getting too many views?

      The air and water temps were cold and we were not dressed to stay dry. When the boat gets really moving, spray flys. I was sitting over the netting. Also, the skipper had only had the boat out a few times. So we were not completely sure of its behavior when pushed. We didn't feel like getting drenched in the cold.
