Why does anyone live in Chicago nowadays? People think Gotham is something else, while canonically it's literally just another big city with high crime rate, like Detroit or other cities, but maybe a little bit worse.
This is pretty cool but I think the cgi batman could've looked more shadowy to be more in line with the animated one (unless you were trying to move away from that).

Well it looks like it's suggesting that Protests are violent, that unions are bad, and that using aggressive methods to break of protests are acceptable. Batman is the only one physically violent, despite the arson. Considering right now Police are in the news violently handling protestors over the whole Palestine thing, and in the past regarding BLM etc. Just makes it seem like there's an agenda outside of fandom.
Not to knock on all the hard work that has obviously gone into the 3D intro but to me it only amplifies how much of a masterpiece the OG intro is. The atmosphere, the movement, the lighting, character stylisation... None of it was improved by the 3D intro. Whereas the OG intro just grabs you instantly and demands you pay attention, the 3D just looks like something you've seen a 1000 times before, like elevator music. Not bad but instantly forgotten. Again, not a knock on the quality of the 3D intro, but more a commentary on how limited resources bring out incredible art that can't be matched with fancy tricks.
Very true. Batman is not about his personal expressions and his emotion. The line which say in DC comics " Dark Vengeance" OG actually captures this perfectly. They show only the eyes not the whole body. Batman just knocks the bad guys never has any grudge. You know the OG animation has a reason to do the whole sequence in this particular way. By the way your animation short is great and top notch no doubt but I just putting a reasoning behind the short and explaining the batman as a character will give a great emotion to it.
I really liked the effort you put into the animation. I have a few notes on why I still actually prefer the original animation: 1. The Music from the original punctuates the action. Danny Elfman's themes always tried to lend into the action that was going on screen, and some of that was lost in your animation and the portrayal of the action. 2. Many of your shots are too wide and pulled back to focus on the emotional throughline some of the shorts intend to portray. The sinister look of the criminals, batman's eye squint, even the cops running and approaching the camera are pulled so far back we can't really focus on what matters. especially in the wide shot where the word CONSUME is in the sky, and we can barely see batman fighting the goons. 3. Your color choice compared to the original uses a LOT of red. The way the 90s intro stands out is their constant clash of shadow and light. When the explosion hits, it's not swallowed up by the red lighting of the bank. when the batmobile is going through the tunnel, the lights speeding by highlight just how narrow the road is. That being said, some of your use of action, the choice to pull out a molotov to fight batman, your transitions are all very fun interpretations of the intro. Nice work!
The 3D version is too "extra" ws the kids say. Extreme angles unlike the original, subtle changes in choreography (that head slam, for example); like it's trying to be gritty but just comes off as edgy.
Making everything red/orange you missing on the atmosphere. It's all blended together. The original works so great because of strong contrast between warm and cold, light and dark.
The animation feels like a different version of Batman. One is knocking mobsters' guns out of their hands with batarangs, the other is knocking protest signs out of the hands of thugs in balaclavas. Even aside from the metal cover, the animation feels like it takes too many liberties from the source. Impressive animation regardless. I truly did enjoy it.
He doesn’t have it in the opening. Batman gets the yellow on his chest a little later on. At the beginning on TAS he doesn’t have it so the opening doesn’t either.

It's a good animation but it doesn't make sense that Batman fights protesters and not bank robbers. in the original series they were armed and in the remaster they have banners. Crap..
Nothing that made the original intro satisfying transferred to the 3D version and the heavy metal completely drowned out all of the finer notes that makes the original music work so well.
…why are the bad guys’ guns switched out for signs in the 3D version?.. They literally got hunted and power-bombed into the concrete by Batman for holding anti Batman signs??
To be honest, remaking the intro to have an anti corporate theme doesn't really work too. I'd not mind if this was like a longer short film, but it's a one minute video and while the animation is great, the message misses the mark

Excellent new take on the theme! It feels more like a tribute to the series intro more then a 3d redo……. But it goes HARD the metal take on the intro theme the new shots and angles and that hellish sky. Its an amazing new take! Amazing work. Also havin the small tv with the old intro and the modern tv next to it with your tribute. So clever!!!

Your darkness is not... dark and darkness is essential for Batman. I understand the need to show us your incredible models with as much detail as possible it's a hard work to craft them to be so good yet the main purpose of Batman-media evades you. For now, at least.
At first i somewhat disagreed with the choice to go full metal on Batman's theme. But then it all comes together when you hear the original shine through so clearly. Such respect for the original cant go unnoticed. This is perfect 👏

I don't like the remake because of the story I just invented. The masked men were protesters against unfair laws until they were almost caught in an explosion and ran away. Batman was on the side of the rich getting richer and not caring for those in need.

I love the original intro. However this into here is very very well made. I just don't like music and I'm a metal guy. Your intro would have done fine with the original score. However, again, the new intro is great visually.
I have alot to say about it. I didn't like it much. reason being, the signs they had wasn't threating at all that the thieves had, I didn't feel like batman was in potential danger. Ok... so he's beating up peaceful protesters???? ok.... Some of the scenes were too drawn out and unessary. The original animation flowed better also the last man Batman takes down is cut out making this brawl VERY anticlimatic. It was too much for too little. In the music, If you gonna do metal for batman, please no weak rifts. This could have been more cold, and action packed and grudgy this 3D opening deserves. The ending was too epic. It like at the end of a performance and at the end of the song a guy busts out with the long drawn out vocal ending that song didn't need then everyone looks at him "like.. wtf? That was so needed." it just wasn't a much of a french kiss with the lighting. Overall it was GOOD just good.

The animation feels like a different version of Batman. One is knocking mobsters' guns out of their hands with batarangs, the other is knocking protest signs out of the hands of thugs in balaclavas. Even aside from the metal cover, the animation feels like it takes too many liberties from the source. Impressive animation regardless. I truly did enjoy it.

Amazing stuff but not putting the yellow oval bat symbol on his chest is a sin.
He doesn’t have it in the opening. Batman gets the yellow on his chest a little later on. At the beginning on TAS he doesn’t have it so the opening doesn’t either.
@@HonerableGNot to be that guy, but that's just wrong. If you mean canonically in the series like during "robin's reckoning" he wore a suit that had a non yellow bay symbol then, yes. But the show opening and the series as a whole he was designed with the yellow bat symbol and has had it since the first animated episode.

It's a good animation but it doesn't make sense that Batman fights protesters and not bank robbers. in the original series they were armed and in the remaster they have banners. Crap..
Key word is "mostly " in the phrase "mostly peaceful protesters "
Nothing that made the original intro satisfying transferred to the 3D version and the heavy metal completely drowned out all of the finer notes that makes the original music work so well.

To be honest, remaking the intro to have an anti corporate theme doesn't really work too. I'd not mind if this was like a longer short film, but it's a one minute video and while the animation is great, the message misses the mark

Excellent new take on the theme! It feels more like a tribute to the series intro more then a 3d redo……. But it goes HARD the metal take on the intro theme the new shots and angles and that hellish sky. Its an amazing new take! Amazing work. Also havin the small tv with the old intro and the modern tv next to it with your tribute. So clever!!!

Your version is horrible, it is made with bad intentions that's why I don't like it. Your idea of making people with signs as enemies to hit, when in the animated version they were criminals with guns, you literally make Batman as a bigot who attacks people for protesting.

I don't like the remake because of the story I just invented. The masked men were protesters against unfair laws until they were almost caught in an explosion and ran away. Batman was on the side of the rich getting richer and not caring for those in need.

I love the original intro. However this into here is very very well made. I just don't like music and I'm a metal guy. Your intro would have done fine with the original score. However, again, the new intro is great visually.
You should ask WB to let you run a whole Batman show. I will personally pay $100 every month to watch

I have alot to say about it. I didn't like it much.
reason being, the signs they had wasn't threating at all that the thieves had, I didn't feel like batman was in potential danger. Ok... so he's beating up peaceful protesters???? ok.... Some of the scenes were too drawn out and unessary. The original animation flowed better also the last man Batman takes down is cut out making this brawl VERY anticlimatic. It was too much for too little. In the music, If you gonna do metal for batman, please no weak rifts. This could have been more cold, and action packed and grudgy this 3D opening deserves. The ending was too epic. It like at the end of a performance and at the end of the song a guy busts out with the long drawn out vocal ending that song didn't need then everyone looks at him "like.. wtf? That was so needed." it just wasn't a much of a french kiss with the lighting.
Overall it was GOOD just good.

Made the robbers protestors, changed the bat logo to "CONSUME" and made Batman's chest look like the Amazon logo? Is this dude one of those people who thinks Batman is just a billionaire beating up homeless people? Solid animation but poor execution.

Most people just do the dual screen effect for side by side comparison. The fact that you modeled a set with two tv’s. One old and one new to represent them is amazing attention to detail
