Join me as I give you a tour of my Privada which may help you decide between living in one vs a more traditional Mexican neighborhood . Location is in Conkal.
The closest mall is Plaza Altabrisa and it is about 10 min away with light traffic. There are collectivo’s which is a bit larger mini van type “ bus”. But DIDI ( like Uber ) will come out this way. There is a park near here , not sure exactly where.
What a pretty/peaceful place!!! OMG... "GIVE ME CONCRETE ALL DAY LONG!!" AHAHAH that was hilarious... "don't want to worry about something jumping out of it" so funny!!😜
Thanks. Conkal just had the home I liked the most. I am trying to get to travel even more, before I won’t be able to one day. This world is full of so many wonderful places.
E U E U dodo water time to go. I had considered moving there, but after thinking it over and over l figure if you leave the US you just trade one problem for another. I’m retired living in Texas and l thought I’d move there I’m sure that l would save money by living there but I’m pretty comfortable in Texas. You have the right idea about being on the move. If possible see as much of the world as possible while you can. I’m almost 70 and l notice that I’m getting slower and slower so keep on moving looking and learning stay well my sister and stay Blessed.l still laugh about when you were in that grocery store and said that it smelled like swamp and ass l get so tickled every time I think of that.😂
You do have problems anywhere you go but I can say after living in 3 countries that there is nowhere near the stress levels you have in the USA! Even if you don’t “think” you have stress, you learn that you really do. It is the nature of how the US is set up.
So are u worried about bathing with the wster if it is contaminated, I would. Thx for the follow up video. It is sad that the prices are doubling due to expats.
There are filters that you can add to the shower. I also used them in Thailand . As a rule , you don’t let water get in your mouth or eyes . Your skin has natural defenses. Sadly, the price increases are all over the world where expats have began to move en masse . I guess it is the way it goes when folks are flocking to get away from the USA!
🤣😂 Wait, wait! You did all of that research, had a consultant, and somedays it smells like pig shit from the pig farm? 😂 No, I'm not trolling you. It's funny. Great video.
It really depends on the pocket you live in and how far you wish to walk. There is Uber , DiDi and guys that drive a thing like a golf cart. For chain grocery stores you will need to Uber
@@malikahonthemove Thank you. You are so honest. Yes, I am looking for walkable areas to live. I left all of my belongings in BCS, including my car and my sweet perro. Still searching for that 'right' walkable place in MX! Thank
Hi Malikah…..where exactly is your home located? My son is moving to Merida this coming summer with their five year old and that playground looks wonderful. They’re currently looking at options that include proximity to a school and of course shopping so any advice you can offer would be much appreciated.
Hi and thanks for watching. I live in Conkal which is on the outside of the periphery of Merida . Many of the privadas offer playgrounds, green spaces , gyms , grills, pools etc. I don’t have school age kids so I couldn’t tell you about school. I do see many here do the home school thing.
Hi Malikah!! Thank you for your video! It’s so awesome! My beautiful house it’s right there, hoping you stay at Zensia for a long time and get the chance to meet you, I enjoy so much your content and I can’t wait to get back, I’m in CA, and stay at my home periodically and I do enjoy the beautifulness and tranquility on my privada. Thank you and Happy New Year!
There are many privadas with single level homes! Not a rarity at all. They even have some with casitas in back . The pig smell isn’t constant, usually after a rain. Our privada is taking steps to treat our private water cistern .
Wow you used to live here in Las Vegas as well huh? Well you made a great choice to move to Mexico. Well I hope by the time I decide to get to Mexico your input and experience of living there will be helpful to my transition. However, I am considering something closer to the Tijuana border just so I can come back on travel time when I need to come back to the US
Yes, Silverado Ranch area back in 07. Keep in mind that Miami and Dallas are only a 2 hour flight from here. Dallas to LV shouldn’t be long of a flight.
@@malikahonthemove everything I see about Merida is quite impressive except for the idea of not being able to flush toilet paper and what I've been informed of from the Cortez Ross channel you gotta pay for the use of a bathroom in public places like restaurants included
😂yes the toilet paper issue does take getting used to however, you can purchase a bidet sprayer prior to coming and it is a way better solution than paper anyway. I haven’t seen any pay bathrooms .
@@malikahonthemove hey friend I hope you enjoying this day out there in Paradise the temperatures here in Las Vegas has calmed down we're going to be in the 70s all week
I appreciate you so much for making these HONEST videos. You’re making a real difference for all us who are curious about Merida area ❤
Thank you for the very nice compliment 🦋 and thanks for being here !
I love your truth in this video .Pig farms and sitting outdoors to watch a movie in the damn grass. I get it you ain't having it ,neither would I.😊

Your subdivision is beautiful. I enjoyed the tour. How did you decide on Conkal? You are so well traveled. That is my desire.

I'll bet it is really beautiful at night. So a provada (sp) is like a home owners association? Good to see various living arrangements. Thank Malikah.
Exactly, just like a subdivision with an HOA.
Very nice home and community thank you for sharing. How much is the HOA fee? Planning to visit there and do some house hunting soon. 😀
I don't pay the fee, the landlord does. I am sure she factored in to the rental price.

I am thinking of moving to mexico. can you tell me where you are and how to rent an apartment in the place where you live?
Hi, I am in Conkal Yucatan. You can find them yourself or get a Agent to assist you.

Better than the human shit smell in Asian countries!

Thanks! Yes they have maintenance fees and it depends on the landlord if you pay them or they do.

Bless you for the video! We need all the help we can get to get a perspective to move to Merida Mexico!!
Glad it was helpful!
I enjoyed every moment!
Is this a rental community?
These are all private owners , only some rent their homes.
What is the price range for these homes? Also how many rooms and bathrooms?
I currently see one for sale; 3 bed 3 1/2 bath with pool for 3,040,000 pesos. That is about $167,546 USD.
@@malikahonthemove that's not bad. Dp you know a good realtor?
@malikahonthemove9878 Those houses used to be half price three years ago before the US Expats invasion

How far is this from the city of merida?
In medium day traffic about 10 minute drive. Remember though, Merida is very spread out so it depends on where you are trying to go.
