It's a big shame what the touristy areas of Lisboa have become, the beautiful streets littered with tuk tuks, and people using public space to sell their wares. Do you think the artisans who built the calçada imagined their hard work would be hidden from view by so much crap. The Cãmara should get a control of things and set some rules. I don´t see any scooters littering the streets of late, have they been made illegal, as in Paris?

I hope it gets regulated soon...

While I can agree with you on the obnoxious tuk tuks, the issue is not with street vendors. These areas are popular for this very reason, and without these people and their business Lisbons streets would be much less bustling. Im sure the artisans would be happy to see people actually using and enjoying what they created.

A feira da ladra is there for that. As for buskers selling their wares in the middle of the public way, I like to make my way up Rua Augusta in a straight line, not walking around in zigzags to avoid stepping on someone's hats. I remember when the beautiful street wasn't so cluttered with outdoor terraces, and tourists.
