Serious Sam 3: BFE - Final Boss - Ugh-Zan IV

- Gameplay for the end of Serious Sam 3: BFE against Ugh-Zan IV. Here are some tips on how to battle this giant:
1) Find the jetpack because you will need it to survive.
2) Stay in the air as often as possible using the jetpack to avoid fighting the other enemies. It's useless fighting other enemies as it is a waste of ammo.
3) Find poles on the ground highlighted in red. They need to be placed in Ugh-Zan IV's back. You may need to place 5 poles on his back but you can do it with less if you did enough damage after using the first or second pole. More poles means more vulnerability to lightning strikes for Ugh-Zan IV.
4) Wait for the Sandwhale to stop Ugh-Zan IV, especially when Ugh-Zan IV steps on the sand. This is the chance to place a pole on Ugh-Zan IV's back. The sand is the Sandwhale's territory and the Sandwhale attacks anyone who walks on the sand.
5) Use the cannonball since it is the best weapon against Ugh-Zan IV. - เกม

I knew how to beat him, but didn't understand the logic. I didn't realize he was being struck by lightnings when he had the poles in his back.

IDK why the reviewers gave the game low score like 6.1,7.0 when the game is actualy fun as hell with good dramatic war atmosphere,new type of enemies,good final level and metal soundtrack,melee kills(like doom 2016) and its also the first SS game which makes serious sam to look like more badass than before
I assume because they modernized it a little bit. It's plays more like COD than a traditional serious sam game. Not that that's a problem.

Melee kills could be cool, but they are pretty much pointless and not rewarding at all. They leave you vulnerable to all enemy attacks and don't even give you anything in return. You are definitely right about the rest of the stuff you pointed out though.

Thanks. It took me forever but with this video I finally managed it. The trick is thus to get those throwing rods and wait a while before he turns his back to you.
The Serious Sam series offers some good shooting but overall annoyance, boredom and repetition are the dominant opinions for me after playing this game. Also SSE3 lags heavily on my machine.

Awesome game, awesome boss fight. But the hell is wrong with the frame rate and the sound in this vid?
The beginning has loading issues because of checkpoint saving. The frame rate slows down for this game when it reaches a checkpoint to save. As for sound, I had the same sound for this game as for any other game. I used Fraps to record this video back in 2012 and I later learned that the encoding quality of Fraps' audio was not very good. I use GeForce Experience's Shadowplay to record videos these days.

So basically to defeat this boss, is the metal poles being thrown onto its back and then using the creature as a giant lightning rod and then hit it with the cannon. Is this the way to defeat the boss, am I correct ?
You are correct. The metal poles on this boss' back make him more vulnerable to lightning strikes. I used the cannon because it is the most effective weapon in Serious Sam's arsenal.

At least SS3 is still the Old-School Run & Gun shooter that he used to be. yes, it's not as good as previous games, but at least he didn't get infected by features of cover-based military shooters (like weapons limitation and regenerating health) like DN does!

It's not bad that they use hitscan, it wasn't hard, if they used slowed projectiles like Scrapjack or Khnum.

This boss fight really needed to be a little more clear on what you do with the poles. How am I supposed to know to jam its back with rods? You can also finish the game missing a couple weapons.

Where does the guy go when he entered the portal????
The portal is called the Time-Lock. He enters it to save himself before Earth is destroyed. However, I'm not sure where he goes. I guess the Time-Lock leaves it to our imagination where he goes, perhaps setting up a continuation of the Serious Sam story in a future sequel.

I mean, Serious Sam 3 is called BFE for a reason... BFE means Before the First Encounter. He enters the timelock and Serious Sam The First Encounter starts.

No. You must use the Lightning Poles and aim them at the back of Ugh-Zan IV

@@augustbornone You should take note of the order in which I attacked Ugh-Zan IV. It took quite a bit of time and effort to throw the lightning poles on his back. There is an order to it. I didn't fire any weapons in Serious Sam's arsenal until Ugh-Zan IV was struck by lightning. The lightning poles make Ugh-Zan vulnerable to lightning attacks from the sky. That was when I began firing at the boss with the cannonball. I didn't fire with the cannonball at the beginning of the battle because I knew the cannonball would be a waste of ammo. You should take note of what happened at 5:41 of the video when I threw the lightning pole on the back of Ugh-Zan when he was battling the Sandwhale. That is also a good time to throw the lightning pole.

Yes, the boss regenerates health. However, the more poles you stick to its back, the more damage the boss will take from a lightning strike. This is because the boss becomes more vulnerable to lightning strikes with more poles on its back.
