    Awesome! I may have to upgrade from my DX8 to a NX8. As for the 3 position switch, If I use a 2 position function, like say landing gear on a 3 position switch, on the DX8 at least, I can choose to activate it on 1,2 or 2,3 or my preference which is 1,3 position. So 1 is the gear up, 2 is nothing and 3 the gear will go down.

      Yes, you can activate the switch positions how you want it. On my DX6, my throttle cut is a 2 position switch and it is a 3 on the NX8. I have it set so that full up is throttle cut and middle and down are both active. Not sure if the middle position can be nothing, I think it needs to be either on or off. I only had to deal with that with my throttle cut, so I decided if I wanted up and middle to be throttle cut off or middle and down to be throttle active. So for your gear, I would do 1 is up, 2 is down, and 3 is down. That way if you accidently go to the 3rd position, the gear stay down rather than retracting. After a week or so, you will get used to the gear switch being up for 1, down for 2, and not use 3 anymore. That is what it was like for my throttle cut. I got used to the middle position being throttle active pretty quickly.

      I wouldn't if I were you the NX8 has a very cheap feel - if you want to upgrade I would go with a DX9

    Hi BRGT350, I really enjoy your videos and have shared them with many friends. They've been very helpful. I have a question for you. Do you have a video that shows how to set up the spectrum NX8 with a spectrum receiver plug and play?

    Let me know how you like it! It was in my shopping cart to buy, but decided I best check reviews. Seems like a lot of issues with NX series as far as charging issues, dead screen, just plain old dead.

      I haven't had a single issue with mine and been using it multiple times a week since May. The video went live well after I got it. I just found out the other day that with the WiFi, I can download BNF models directly on the radio. All the factory setups are ready to go! Tried it out on the 64mm A-10. I did need to move some switches around as I have a different assignment than most, but the flap throws, elevator mixes, timer, everything was there in a quick and easy download right from the transmitter. I am 100% happy with the NX8.

    hello! i have the old dx6i with many reciver . can i use the old reciver on Nx8?

    • @BRGT350
      @BRGT350  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That should work as the old DX6i and NX8 are on the Spektrum 2.4gHz protocol. I have some old Parkzone planes from the DX6i era and they all bind just fine to the NX8. I never had the DX6i, but did have the DX5e which was even more basic of a radio.

      I am not sure. I believe it is 3.7V only.

    Hi Spektrum User`s With the DX6e as well as the DX6 you must go to settings and click [Alka] until it flashes then use scroll wheel to change to lipo battery... if you don`t do this the first give away is high voltage like 8.4 with a 7.4 volt lipo battery! ... the auto-turn on of radio is showing you something is not right, changing to [lipo] is going to get rid of the auto-turn on mode... as well as 8.4 high voltage readout...

    Spektrum recommends Class 6 or class10 x 32 Gb card so do not know what is going on with yours..

      Yeah, I needed a different SD card and that worked great to transfer models between my DX6 and NX8.

    How do you bind aircraft on this???
    Like if I just got a new umx air tractor and I just got the controller for example. What do I do?

    • @BRGT350
      @BRGT350  ปีที่แล้ว

      For UMX airplanes, turn on the transmitter first and go through the steps to create a new model. Once the model has been created in the NX8, or you download a file online using the WiFi connection, you then install the battery in the UMX plane. Next go to the Bind menu in the NX8 and bind the airplane. Once that is done, the aircraft is bound to the transmitter. For larger planes, you use the bind plug into the receiver and follow the same process. The unique settings for each plane for the transmitter are in the manual for the airplane.

    • @bethmotgomery2662
      @bethmotgomery2662 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also wonder, could i fly multiple planes with one of these or do I need multiples of the same controller for each plane??
      Also, about the headphone jack on it, do you use normal headphones or can you use a headset to talk to other pilots in your group??
      You've got me hooked on these planes.

    • @BRGT350
      @BRGT350  ปีที่แล้ว

      So with the NX and even DX6 and above radios, you can store up to something like 200 planes in the radio. Once you bind the radio and airplane together, the radio remembers the unique frequency to link the plane and transmitter together, so you only need to bind the radio and plane once. The NX8 also stores all the settings for each plane, like the trim, deflection rates, and expo. This allows you to fine tune each plane to your liking. For example, lets say you have 3 planes and one NX8 transmitter. All 3 planes are bound to the transmitter and each has their own settings stored inside the transmitter. The transmitter will only control one plane at a time, so don't worry about that. If you want to switch planes, you go into the menu on the NX8, go to System Settings, Select Model, and then pick the plane you want to fly. The screen and settings will switch over to that model. Plug in the battery on the plane and the plane will power up and link automatically to the transmitter as it remembers the unique frequency. You then go and fly the plane. When you are done and want to change planes to go fly something else, unplug the battery from the plane you are done with, go back into the settings on the NX8 and pick the next plane, plug in a new battery to the plane you want to fly, and you are all set to go. I usually bring 2-4 planes each time I go flying and it is super easy and quick to go between the planes with the transmitter. With the NX8 transmitter, you can purchase any Horizon Hobby (Hobbyzone, E-flite, or Blade) BNF model and it will link to the NX8. No need to buy another transmitter or buy a RTF model that comes with one. As for the headphone jack, that is so you can link 2 transmitters together for training purposes. There is also a wireless link where you can link 2 transmitters together with one being an instructor and the other student. That way the instructor can take over if needed from the student. Hope that helps and let me know if you have additional questions.

      Dose the same implies to switching from a plane to a helicopter also??
