your so called favorite franchise is still in tact, you have just gotten lost in the political weeds and clickbait videos like this. Star Wars 9 will profit, and all of disneyland/world is a rip off, so not sure why anyone would expect less from this attraction.
I disagree with the idea of fatigue. Poor management, poor writing, sjw thoughts, hating original characters, and hating fans in hopes for more money is the issue.
@@eiszapfenderwutendenwinde3233 I'm not tired of Star Wars. I'm tired of things I love being abused. As soon as they release a movie that doesn't abuse the franchise I'll instantly be into it.
Well yeah there’s no original characters in it. This is not fatigue. If we had original characters the park would be doing better. The whole first order thing was stupid. The new characters are garbage. The park itself just so the original justice. It’s not worth going to.
If all that stuff was not done and the franchise was extended on properly, there wouldn't be any fatigue. So that's the definition of franchise fatigue. Franchise fatigue doesn't just happen for no reason. Look at Marvel: They've been ripping out movie after movie and people are lapping it up... so far. I suspect the Marvel Universe is going to go down hill from now on though. We'll see.
Exactly. This is why I have no desire to go see it. They should have done the Galactic Civil War era which everyone who is a Star Wars fan likes. They easily could have thrown in things from their own Rebels series, too, if they wanted to make it "their own."
But having it based in the sequel era is good because it can reference the other era's while if it was only prequel or the ot it can't as it wouldn't make sense. It would be better if they made sections with the different eras.
For me alone having it based off the prequels would be enough. Having it based of both both prequels and original trilogy would be sooo coool (unfortunately my trust in Disney at this point to not mess it up Is basically non-existent)
i guess that depends on country, here in Denmark kids talk about star wars and is quite big with people between 25 and up. But no one talks about the Disney movies. Not even the kids, for them its darth vader, luke, Leia and Han who is interesting
- Spend almost two years telling long-time Star Wars fans that the new films aren't made for them, and you don't want them around anymore. - Act surprised when they don't show up for new Star Wars releases. *Logic!*
As a California resident, the reason I believe that the park is so empty is that not only do the drinks and the merch and all that for galaxy's edge cost so much, but the basic ticket prices for entering Disneyland have skyrocketed to nearly 200 dollars a person. Not only that, but that star wars section is based on the new movies with nearly everyone hates.
Add in airfare, hotel, and food and you are easily over $1,000 per person, even for just a few days! A lot of middle class families can't or don't want to spend that on a vacation.
The poor films are what everything else must rest on. They should be selling tickets for $5 a pop just to get kids interested in Star Wars for the future to save the brand. This IP is being run into the ground by morons and I called that shit the day they made the EU non-canon
The sad part is they had literal road map in front of them the with the extended universe, but they chose to ignore that and do their own thing. Unfortunately their own thing consisted of pushing their politics down our throats instead of telling good stories.
They kill Star Wars and try to make a theme park with it’s corpse. What do you expect? The magic is gone. No one cares about Star Wars anymore, people have made peace. Let it die and remember the good times.
Evilsdemise It is not a reflection of the Star Wars Fandom It is the reflection of Disney corperation n the SJW Liberal agenda in the entire Western media industry as a whole :p
To be fair, Mark Hammil was promised a good story, signed a 3 movie contract and when he realized the dumpster fire the sequel trilogy derrailed into it was too late. He can't walk away because the money is ALREADY on his account, and breaching big contracts is a big no-no.
At the Disney price it is probably better to make one on your own and know the quality that you are putting in it. Also you would know how to fix it if it broke.
If you're going to build your own lightsaber, maybe it's just me, but shouldn't you at least know how to make plastic models, airbrush, and do some basic soldering?
I'm a casual fan. Franchise fatigue has nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with me not liking the film and then literally being insulted for it. I won't be spending any cash there because of this.
I waited for two screening of Star Wars to run in 1977 to see it! (5hours!) We were lined up around the entire theater! But I won't line up for 10 minutes for Disney's BS Star Wars.... They have destroyed the "magic" and the "epic story" in the Galaxy, far, far away.... The dream is dead.
Eh. Not sure about that. The films you loved are still there. Without Disney there'd be no more films. They're just adding more to what we already love. Don't like it? Stick with the old school stuff. So far Star Wars is awesome and I can't wait for more.
@Samuel Hartley.....you're not by any chance that bloke who infamously filmed himself weeping/having an orgasm when the teaser for Rise of Skywalker dropped are you? I only ask as you certainly sound like him with your easily pleased 'here's my wallet Disney so take my money!' attitude. ;)
It's actually fully possible Mark Hamill was just excited as we were for the return of Star Wars that he signed up before the script was revealed to him and he simply didn't have a way to back out without paying a colossal fine for it. It's also possible he liked the pre-Ryan Johnson version of his character.
It will never cease to amaze me that Disney managed to take a name that was literally printing money and turned it into box office cancer in less than 3 movies. Just.... WOW.
@@MMDelta9 i am nto a fan of star wars at all. I never got into the originals. Bored the shit out of me. (I was born in 1984) I tried to give it another chance when the prequels were being brought in. Still bored the shit out of me. Only went and saw Phantom of the Menace was because i went on a date. Bored the shit out of me as well. But thank god i was on a date, so didn't give a shit. But boy did i not go see the next two installments. Then when these sequels started, friends of mine wanted me to try to give them a chance again and watch it with them. Once again...bored as shit with the originals and anything involving Star Wars. I don't have to be a fan of star wars to know the success they had at the box office. And i am sorry. But you once again have proven you have no idea what "box office cancer" means. If they were box office cancer, they wouldn't have made a shit load of money from the theaters. ;) Get it now?
lol are you kidding? Ultrasabers would be waaay more expensive for the same lightsaber with sounds. Any saber from ultrasabers with sounds is over $150+ the disney legacy sabers and even the custom ones are waaay cheaper than ultrasabers, and look far more movie-esque. Ive purchased 2 ultrasaber lightsabers before and as soon as this area came out I was like lol RIP Ultrasabers, only reason they'll survive is not everyone can go to the parks.
Cost of a basic toy lightsabre; $20 Cost of a reasonable quality replica lightsabre; $60 Cost of a high quality replica lightsabre; $300 Cost of a Galaxy's edge lightsabre that apparently won't be working by the time you exit the park; $200+
I've been a Star Wars fan since I was a kid. I watched the original trilogy and the prequels over and over. I've read 40+ Star Wars novels. Last Jedi was a steaming pile of betrayal that ruined it all. I'm done with disney star wars because it's not Star Wars. It's a virtue signaling woke parody.
I think i read the Zahn books, Dark Empire and Academy trilogy, Shadows of the Empire, Darksaber and Truce at Bakura, and the comics based on Ulic Qel-Droma and Exar Kun. Didnt bother with the Yuuzhan Vong stuff.
Not trying to be mean but you are the problem. You didn't expect that from Disney? Seriously? Well, congrats, you just paid them to keep doing it. Always wait for reviews.

Hey I worked at Disneyland during the opening of Cars Land and it took maybe a year-and-a-half to two years for it to die down a bit. Cars Land has beaten Star Wars let that sink in
Cars was always popular as a merchandising machine for kids. It's like Avatar. The movie didn't have a lasting impact despite its box office success and no one ever really asking for more sequels. Yet, Disney World's Avatar section is flipping amazing and awesome.
Cars has a much broader appeal, IMO. I've never seen a Star Wars movie, it just doesn't interest me. I have no reason to visit a Star Wars theme park. It's one of those things where if you're not balls deep in the franchise, the experience will be lost on you. You don't need to see a Cars movie to enjoy Cars Land.
@@Reginald_Harrison Star Wars doesn't have broad appeal? Did you seriously just say that? It's only been the biggest thing EVER for the last 42 years. Only since Disney took it has that fact changed.
@@kevmasengale6903 No. The people that grew up with the original star wars before the prequels ever came out farted on the prequels while the kids that grew up during the prequel releases enjoyed those a lil more. As for this sequel trilogy, well...old original fans and prequel era of fans are turning against it, but the kids growing up today are enjoying it, and despite what people want to say and believe about it, they have been a great success in terms of box office so far. It's just the "Solo" movie that has people riding on this "train" that star wars is dead. Guarantee that when the third film comes out this winter, i guarantee it will just reach a total of a billion dollars. And this is coming from a guy that has not been a fan of Star Wars...ever. And I was born in 1984. The decade where Star Wars really took off in popularity. Never appealed to me, and always thought what people had problems with the prequels and these sequels is exactly the same thoughts i had even as a kid about the original trilogy.

Jimmy De'Souza yeah you can get lightsabers that you can get as hard as you want and they won’t break. I’ve whacked an older stainless steel fridge like 5 times as hard as I could to test it out and literally not a scratch. Pretty cool if you grew up doing lightsaber battles with the $10 pokey stick.
The only thing worth seeing is the life sized Millennium Falcon. Di$ney Star Wars is dead. Boycott episode 9. Fire Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson. Never forget. Watch Jumanji instead.
Don't bother with a boycott! KK and Disney would love to see a boycott because that would mean people are still interested in SW. Personally I haven't even got enough interest to boycott the next wave of overhyped hollow nonsense.
Bret Johnson Jr - these idiots have been so programmed that even when they know they have been “taken for a ride” they STILL won’t complain. Holy crap this is awesome. These are the same idiots that vote for people that outright tell them they will be paying HIGHER taxes so the that THEY can pay for illegals to get free health care. Why? So the democrats can buy votes to make sure they continue to rape Americans.
Mark Hamil signed his contract with George. He didn't sign up for this shit! He didn't know Disney was going to own it. George used that for negotiating the sale. Having the 3 under contract already.
Lol I got some prop lightsabers from a Blockbuster for my birthday when Attack of the Clones came out. They have been beat the hell up as I grew up and they still work over a decade later. Disney can’t do anything right these days.
Of course, because those were toys made for hyperactive kids to play and have fun with. These are $200+ "collector's items" that are meant to be purchased by obsessed soyboys and soygirls and carefully sat on a shelf where they can wistfully stare at it, wanking, while wearing a Vader helmet or something while they watch Star Wars Episode 38 featuring Darth Trump or whatever.
A Random Passerby The ones I got back then were still between $140-200, I was making a comparison between pre-Disney StarWars merch and current Disney Star Wars merchandise quality. These new lightsabers are barely making it out of the park and they’re supposed to be “Collectors Items”, the ones I got over a decade ago are realistic looking lightsabers with those fiberglass blades- arguably also “Collectors Items”, that still work. Disney can’t match current-day 3rd party lightsaber quality, they can’t even match the quality of over a decade ago.

They already had lightsaber building in Tomorrow Land and I think it was like $30 or something. No idea why they thought redoing it for $200 was a great idea other than greed.
Galaxy's Edge theme park looks like a Star Wars gas station/rest stop area for Pete's sake... lol... and from what I saw the cheapest souvenir is a $12 key chain.. Most items are $40 and up..
Trust me, the workers were sweating bullets and anxious, and then.... nothing. It was slow, calm and quiet. I really do hope this is the fans rejecting Disney's version.
I totally think that theming a park around TLJ was a great idea. It even Subverted Disney's expectations to stay in character. One day, Disney Star Wars and Rian Johnson will be taught in marketing classes right after new coke.
@Joe Kastner boogeywahman? Wat? Why are you bringing women into this you misogynist. Imagine thinking wahman are behind everything bad in the world. Honestly, I'm merely memeing because I found it hilarious that someone would actually go "Actually, its not about TLJ, its about the very exciting events that occur between the end of the critically acclaimed episode 8, and the upcoming juggernaut, episode 9. Honestly, I can see the misunderstanding, but, as a Star Wars fan, I would not dare missing out on the critical story elements happening in the park before watching the movie!" and not get paid to it. That said, I don't believe you are paid off, I mean, you are really bad at the marketing and the internet argument things both. I think you just got out your atomic tweezers and your microscope and were legitimately picking the smallest of nits. Which, I'm not sure is much of an improvement, to be honest. At any rate, "its not TLJ reeee! its between it and 9 you, you toxic fandom!" is a bit ridiculous. That said, you do you champ.
IKR..I mean the fans flocked to The Force Awakens ( average ) the market was already there..and they ruined it completely for some false diversity no one cares about. The people that ditched the movies after tlj don't want to give Disney a penny for starwarts
They tailored this park to the woke fans instead of the hardcore fans. And everyone knows SJWs will rave about your woke product but not actually spend any money on it.
@Joe Kastner Lmao did you skip the video? Did you see the main character? You think that wasn't designed by a panel of SJWs? I mean its literally a default blue hair that everyone makes fun of.
He actually got pretty neat in The Clone Wars, since they didn't use him for cheap Disney-animal-sidekick-style antics to make little kids... nose-exhale a tiny laugh.
@@nickb1762 I honestly didn't think Jar Jar was that terrible. I don't particularly like the prequels, but say about Jar Jar what you want, he definitely made an impression within Star Wars. As a comic relief character, he does work. Despite all the coincidental nonsense that makes little sense and how the prequels turned Star Wars into a much less serious thing overall. Also, the pod racing was still kind of awesome and Darth Maul wasn't bad. Unfortunately the new trilogy seems to not be really that much better.
Hollywood fatigue. stop watching movies and tv. Let Hollywood shrivel up and go away. Usher in the new era of hobbyist level entertainment. Don't be a fan. Don't be a fanatic. Don't be a wallet.
When you search down the nerd rabbit hole deep enough, it ain't too difficult to find things worth supporting. I totally plan to pick up Alita: Battle Angel the day its 4K home release comes out. And there's been tons of animé to enjoy, namely Goblin-Slayer and The Rising of the Shield Hero, which the SJWs were freaking out with seething rage over a while back.
@Brandon Biagiano It is set on a planet from Episode 9 and there are only sequel characters like Kylo Ren and First Order Stormtroopers walking around. The Falcon ride is based in sequel era as well.
Thats sad. I have 2 lightsabers that have colors, sounds and can be combined into a saber staff ala Darth Maul and it cost 180 dollars. Not as good as ultrasabers but still duel quality.
Even the Cantina is awfully bright and "too clean"...rather than the dread look in the films... Also, no Mustafar "you are the chosen one location" No Emperor's Throne Room No Jedi Council room No Palpatine's Office ...All cool locations are not there
Exactly. It’s pretty shitty for Jeremy to be putting this on Hamill. He also probably thought he would have some creative control on his character, which is why he was so vocal on set and now off. No offense to Mark, but Star Wars has been what he will most likely be remembered most for. To have it end the way it did, I’m sure he feels betrayed and hurt. I know I would.
And it's no wonder that he signed, who would have thought that both Star Wars and the original characters--sure-fire hits--could be so disrespected and get screwed up so badly by Disney. I sure didn't.
@@Jaws1375 Really? Disney is a political mind control branch of the CIA, always has been. They've just stopped trying to hide over the last twenty years. Where you been brother?
I was going to say the same. Jeremy is being utterly stupid here. Not only will Hamill OBVIOUSLY have a contract for a set number of films/years, but he likely also has a contract where he has to show up to Star Wars conventions/premieres and do interviews and all that related shit for many years to come. This is common industry practice and common knowledge. I think that's one reason Hamill sometimes looks depressed, because he doesn't want to be there but he *has* to.
@@driakos yeah, there is only one ride, but the management at Disneyland do not care about the amount of rides, they base all of their metrics on "experiences". everything from going on rides to visiting shops, or eating at restaurants count as an experience for the purpose of their metrics.

I would boil it down to 3 things. 1. Most people just don't have the disposable income anymore. 2. The last 3 movies were terrible and alienated much of the fan base. 3. They created basically a series of shops with a crappy ride and jacked up the prices.

@Sightless_Seeker tbf, the game is in a better place than it was just before release. The hate for it is well justified, but now 2 years later they are still updating it which considering the launch is commendable. And although EA intended to make it p2w, it has never actually been p2w ever, as it was disabled before launch. The game has a decent amount of content nowadays and the only thing I'd say it desperately needs is heavy balancing.
I don’t agree with the criticism of Mark Hamil... and I don’t even like him. I think he got into the project with the best of intentions, having a strong connection to the role. He left the series feeling sour though, as he has the right too. It’s been handled poorly, and he had no say in that.
Jeremy Disneyland is a ghost town, because they have finally priced themselves OUT OF THE MARKET. No one wants to spend $5000 which is the cost for an average family to wait in line for hours as in the past, for over priced food, beverages and baubles. I think people are finally awakening from a long sleep of Disney blinders syndrome. A single day ticket is $192, that jsut to walking the door add another $200 - $500 for food and stuff. Let the downsizing begin. For years Disney parks was a cash cow, but with all it expansions and over purchases of IP and trying to dominate all media, they have become ignorant of just how bloated and overextended they have become. I am eager to see them collapse under their own weight. And the sooner the better.👎😎😆😆😆
Over exaggerate much? I thought that sounded high so I looked, it's $109 for a single park which any of the parks you can easily make a full day out of. I guess you can buy the hopper which is almost $170/day but honestly after going it's a waste cause it's near impossible to actual hit multiple parks in a day unless your rushing through stuff and not doing anything.
I didn't realize this targets the California location. My experience in Florida was far better. Honestly, yes Disney is expensive, but staying at the park requires buying a meal plan. I can say the meal has NEVER been a bad idea as I'd always walk away having overeaten large amounts of what would be expensive food at ANY location.....it was good too.
@@anonymoususer20246 I have live here for 25yrs, I don't care what it says the price is today. It is historically between $142-$192. I know this because i work for universal Studios Hollywood, and every time Disney raise prices we follow suit, EVEN THOUGH we are nowhere as big as Disney. USH has killed business for locals with its ludicrously high prices. So believe what you want. They only dropped the price because no one showing up.
I think that now that Endgame has happened and finished the story people have been following, I wouldn't be surprised if the movies start flopping. I'm sure as hell tired of comic book super hero movies.
Disney already bought the Alien franchise too... Guess we'll see some talky-huggy Aliens in future movies (ala Terminator 2). Alien with pink hair on their dome... fuzzy tails instead of spikes... and probably talking face huggers. Oh and the mouse ears on all of them. That's next.
Dizney killed the canon, replaced it with "NEW, IMPROVED, MODERN, WITH-IT" characters, sell faulty merch and gave a nod to Mark Hamill now expects to get tons of traffic to their park. Instead, people are avoiding their cash-cow in droves. What's wrong with this picture? I'm soooooo confuzed!
Would anyone, though? Who pays almost a grand to overpay and not get drunk?! What weed man worth his salt would also pay his way into the park to sell weeds? No. 5$ pints, and as many Cantina jokes we can muster or no deal, hqha
same starwars is a destroyed brand thanks to Iger...the buck stops with him ...he is clueless...it's kennedy and Soyboy boobs Rian making such rubbish...but Iger allowed it. MCU made almost 5 billion in a year..at 3 movies a year and he says Star Wars films were "too frequent." and he runs both brands. I hope Feige has the sense to not allow the mcu to go the same way.
Simon Bannow Okay I actually knew the founder of the Company personally. The old timer was a very amiable and down to earth kinda guy. I dunno what he’s up to these days but as for his banjos, his best selling model is the tried and true classic: The 5-string Good Time.
Marvel is NOT “played out” as much as Star Wars. Endgame ended a great 10 year run for Marvel and fans were satisfied with the finale. Star Wars, on the other hand, has burned itself out and fans are FURIOUS with the way Rian Johnson DISRESPECTED the Star Wars legacy and DESTROYED Luke’s character.
Guys... maybe... ..just maybe it's time to let Star Wars die. Seriously. Let's just stop going to the movies, stop buying the books, the toys, all of it. It will take some time for Disney to get it, but if all the films and merchandise stop being profitable, they might actually sell it, or simply stop producing it. I know that sucks. I love Star Wars. We all do. But.. well.. it's not worth it anymore. The SJWs have it, and they will NEVER let it go now. Give it up. Let it die. Remember it as it was.
Just create FREE fan content. Disney can't hit you legally if you never sell it. And Star Wars has too much potential as a mythology to die. It just needs to be put in the hands of the people. So fan content it is.
All I went to in cinemas was Rogue One. (I was 11 when Revenge of the Sith came out, ok?) That was enough. We all know what happened after that. Never again...
If Disney would have stayed with Lucas's original characters and canon, they could have pleased the masses and raked in the billions without a complaint. They just had to have a progressive liberal agenda and inject the poison into something that was beloved by millions including myself. Now the stench of KK's c**t is all over the franchise now and I feel like it is doomed for good. It's just sad.

We'll see.
It is also a sequel based theme park with no prequel or original trilogy stuff which is a big negative

They need to recoup some of that lost money from the last few movies they've made
Exactly. It's too insanely expensive for it to actually be any fun.
Add in airfare, hotel, and food and you are easily over $1,000 per person, even for just a few days! A lot of middle class families can't or don't want to spend that on a vacation.
Are the food and drinks more expensive there than the other Disney parks? If so, how much more?
The poor films are what everything else must rest on. They should be selling tickets for $5 a pop just to get kids interested in Star Wars for the future to save the brand. This IP is being run into the ground by morons and I called that shit the day they made the EU non-canon

I really do think people are just starting to reject Hollywood and it is about time we turn our backs to them. Good riddance.
k don't let the door hit you on the way out
They tailored this park to the woke fans instead of the hardcore fans. And everyone knows SJWs will rave about your woke product but not actually spend any money on it.
SJWs believe and make themselves seem like they're 50% of the population when it's like 8-2% so that's another factor.
How in the hell is the park tailored to the “woke” fans when all I’ve seen are hardcore star wars fans saying how cool and immersive it is
@Joe Kastner Lmao did you skip the video? Did you see the main character? You think that wasn't designed by a panel of SJWs? I mean its literally a default blue hair that everyone makes fun of.

Donald StormDucks ?
brorjace08 and no Battle Droids 😔
Wow and I thought I was only one who thought that they do look like ducks
It wasn’t even StarWars themed. If they wanted it Star Wars themed, it would have been based around 1-6.
@Brandon Biagiano nah it's sequel shit only I believe
@Brandon Biagiano It is set on a planet from Episode 9 and there are only sequel characters like Kylo Ren and First Order Stormtroopers walking around. The Falcon ride is based in sequel era as well.
@Joe Kastner nostalgia trumps wokeness
Brandon Biagiano nope from what I’ve seen it’s all based on 7-9 which is disgraceful what about 1-6 such a joke
Amen brotha!
Omg! For $200 you could get a super elaborate, color changing saber from Ultrasabers! Why the hell cant Disney give a quality saber?
I'm not even a fanboy but if it was good quality that sounds fucking awesome
Because they want the most money for the least amount of quality work possible. Greed...Greed never changes...
Thats sad. I have 2 lightsabers that have colors, sounds and can be combined into a saber staff ala Darth Maul and it cost 180 dollars. Not as good as ultrasabers but still duel quality.
they look only slightly better than the old very kidsy ones they used to sell. They should have partnered with those super fancy ones
Because a expensive saber would cut their profit margins & they would cost $400 then.
Even the Cantina is awfully bright and "too clean"...rather than the dread look in the films...
Also, no Mustafar "you are the chosen one location"
No Emperor's Throne Room
No Jedi Council room
No Palpatine's Office
...All cool locations are not there
The Jabba's throne room recreation present at Star Wars conventions is cooler and more enjoyable than anything at Galaxy's Edge.
Ivan Cerecer that’s because it’s not based on the movies
@Natasel well...thats where Mace Windu fought Palpatine, so it'd be fun to see a broken window, plus, you see it a lot in TCW

I wanted the nondiscript hallway that stormtroopers were running in during one of the movies.
Jeremy, Mark Hamill is on contract. He signed before he read the script.

Wait, there's really only one ride?

How wude!

"Franchise fatigue?" I think it should be named "Disappointment Fatigue" in this case.
if you pay $200 for something that cost $3 on Ali-Express you don't deserve a refund.
I go once a month and it is not at all a ghost town.
Ghost town? Not even.
2 hour lines? Definitely.
@@anonymoususer20246 I have live here for 25yrs, I don't care what it says the price is today. It is historically between $142-$192. USH has killed business for locals with its ludicrously high prices. So believe what you want. They only dropped the price because no one showing up.

Though, fans were not as thrilled with Captain Marvel, a few more of those and it joins SW.
Guys... maybe... ..just maybe it's time to let Star Wars die.
I didn't see Solo, I'm not going to see the next movies.
Just create FREE fan content. Disney can't hit you legally if you never sell it. And Star Wars has too much potential as a mythology to die. It just needs to be put in the hands of the people.
So fan content it is.
