    Great recipe, should type out instructions, 250 for 45 minutes, flip, another 20 minutes at 300, they are good to go then.
    Optional steps:pull them off and sauce them in a pan, return to grill in the pan at 225 for 20 minutes.

    I live in new England, and barbeque all year with my pitboss. The "p" factor needs to be set for the outdoor temperature and weather you have. If you dial that in, it makes the grill a lot more precise.

      Temperature swings is actually normal. Same thing as your kitchen oven. It's okay if if swings around for a little while. Long as it isn't drastic. What's important is the internal temp of your food. I also heard temp sings brings out more smoke, thus more flavor.

      David Vinal I apologize for the short reply, I was in a hurry this morning. The smoker itself provides good smoke flavor but I like heavy smoke flavor and this tube provides that. It is much more fuel efficient cooking on the pellet smoker than it is on my offset smoker in my opinion, Hope this helps.

    • @nicks.12
      @nicks.12 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you will benefit from using a smoker tube. Pellet smokers don't put out a lot of smoke. It's also good for using different pellets without having to empty the Pellet box. I use pecan as a base smoke for all my meats I smoke. I'll use the tube for different pellets based on what kind of meat I'm smoking.

    • @williamkrejca4641
      @williamkrejca4641 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nicks.12 Generally speaking,with most smokers,the higher the heat setting, the less smoke. This is just a combustion rule. The tube makes up for the less smoke gotten at a higher temperature. To compensate somewhat, I sometime start out at a temp of 190 for a while, just to assure more smoke is created, then turn up the temp.Or just use a tube to begin with. Or both.

      Jeff asked about the P setting working only on the smoke setting and my experience with the Pit Boss is the smoke setting allows you to reset the smoke setting while it is dialed in on the smoke setting. After you move it up to a higher temp it will stay on that setting until you turn off the grill and then it goes back to the default which on mine is P4. I can tell you this cause it has happened 2 times to me already and that is that the flames will go out on 2 low a temperature on mine, I turn the dial no lower than 225 now and still low and slow enough for great smoky results.

And then you put them back on the smoker, after applying BBQ sauce, at 225 degrees for ANOTHER 15 or 20 min? Wasn't the chicken done at 165 degrees? Aren't you asking us to over cook the chicken?
