This gentleman is on the right track. Pay attention too his video and a wood pellet grill. He has helped out a lot. The only difference is I don’t use a cooking pan at the end. I just place them back on the grill grate. My advice is give his recipe a try. They turn out very good. And I’d like too see more of this pit masters videos. He is right! Keep it simple
Great recipe! I’m gonna fire up the Pit Boss tomorrow and do me some wings! I’ll let you know how they come out, but you’ve never steered me wrong. I prepared a 10 pound brisket a couple of months ago - following your recipe - and it was spectacular; great bark, sweet smoke ring, and out-of-this-world taste. Smoke tube was a great idea, btw. Thanks, brother!
Just found your channel today from San Antonio and believe me I am trying these chicken wings today for some munchies. Happy Thanksgiving and look forward to trying out some of your ideas on the pellet grill. 👍
I've made wings about 5 or 6 times using your method and they always turn out great! In fact I have some on the Pit Boss right now that should be done in half an hour or so. Thanks for sharing, now my favorite wings are the ones that I make at home.
@@thebackyardgriller9076 At first I thought my wife had lost her mind when she said she wanted us to get one, the 1100 is not cheap... but now I don't know how I ever lived without it!
Thanks again, yeah I love mine but I have the 820 and the capacity of the 1100 is nice. I will have to wait since I just got the Masterbuilt 560 last week. Thats another great smoker/grill still getting used to it but so far so good. We just uploaded a video and have more coming of you are interested. Thank you for watching and for replying, I appreciate it.
Looks good! I had a Treager, but pellets didn't have enough smoke for me. Now I have a Lang stick burner. But, to each their own. Keep up the good work!
Trying it right now on my ZGrills 450A, doing 225 for the first 35 min., then I’ll crank to 325 for 45 Min. Check my internal temp.....first time using a pellet smoker.....wish me luck
New drinking game! Every time he says "alright guys" you have to drink....GO!.... just kiddin'. Pretty good video. I've made up my mind I'm getting a Pit Boss smoker.
Hey there, about 20 minutes. Just as long as they get crispy and golden. You can leave them longer, it depends how you like them. Thanks for watching and I hope that you give them a try.
I have to say, The BEST looking wings I have seen....DAm !!. One thing get that heat pan a cleaning...hahaha. I see a lot of folks cover with a HEAVY DUTY FOIL, easy clean up. Well good videos man.....
Jim Cash. Yes that has always annoyed me and trust me I clean it often. I originally did try to cover it up but it is not flat like the others and I couldn't use my sear function since the small PC wouldn't slide. Thanks for watching.
Love hot wings. They looked delicious. I couldn't hear the total cook time on 200 or 300 degrees. Send some my way, yum. Keep smoking and Merry Christmas.
Doug6714 hey there, I cold smoke them at 200 degrees for 30 min, if u want more smoke flavor take them to 1 hour then crank it up to 300 and in about 1 hour they will be done. These are so good I promise that you will love them. Thanks for watching.
Jeff Meyers awesome, there are so many ways to make them. I will try another recipe soon. I like to keep them simple so that we can make them during the week.
Raul Gonzalez I have had it for one year and it has worked very well, everything I have cooked in it has turned out very good. Once you learn how to use it you will love it. If you can afford the 820 go for it, the extra size is great.
Raul Gonzalez yeah I think it's great it's my first smoker and I'm having a blast with it I think just experimenting with different rubs and and meats are a fun way to get using the pitboss down it's really simple and everything I've cook was great especially a turkey breast I did yesterday it turned out great !
I see your point but I like to keep things simple, I want to show folks that you can do everything on one grill. Keeping it as simple as I can is my goal. Thanks for watching.
Buffalo wings are hot, medium, and mild...All those depend on how much Clarified Melted Butter you add to the Franks Hot sauce..Ask me how I know. LOL! Brett Wheelan hey there, just keep in mind that all grills are as little different. 20-25 min at 300 or until skin is crispy then sauce them and back in for about 10 min or until u see the sauce set. U will love em I promise. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps. Happy 4th!
Used this last week to do drum sticks. Added a bit of cooking time because of size of the meat, but WOW. Will be doing this every time I do any type of chicken. Thanks!

Adrian Altine Ive used this recipe on my green mountain and they are awesome
Thanks for not being complicated 😁
How long did you cook at 300? I'm getting ready to start. Supper time can't get here soon enough 🙂
The BEST hot wings I have ever made and ate!!! I reference BACK YARD GRILLER for all my smoked meats. I have a Pit Boss 1100 pellet smoker.
Thank you sir, I have had my eyes on that 1100, how is it working out for you?

Do the BBQ version did you mix butter with the BBQ sauce as well?
Hey there, no I just dilute with water. You don't have to but it works great for me. Great question!
Looks good! I had a Treager, but pellets didn't have enough smoke for me. Now I have a Lang stick burner. But, to each their own. Keep up the good work!
Burnett BBQ thanks for watching.
I bought a pit boss after this video. Going to try this recipe today!
Awesome! Thanks for watching.
Did you turn them over during the first smoke?
Yes
Why are you mixing the pre mixed Frank's wing sauce with butter? Use Frank's hot sauce if you are going to add butter.
Just personal preference that's all, thanks for watching.
Because it tastes good
I have the pit boss deluxe my p setting is on 4 temp gets way too hot if I put it on 225 it cooks at 275 do you have that problem? Wings looked great.
Kevin Lavergne it does that when it feeds the pellets but it levels out quickly, go a little higher on your p setting to lower your temp.
How do you clean your drip plate/heat deflector?
Spencer Okey I just use a scraper and some oven cleaner.
I wrap mine in foil , easy clean up
I followed your method but the skins came out tough. Any ideas on what could cause that? Thanks
Good morning, if your temp got very low or lower and you left them on longer this will happen. Dont sweat it, this has happened to me before.
thanks for your repy
I forgot to ask, what type of grill or smoker did you use?
rec tec
Trying it right now on my ZGrills 450A, doing 225 for the first 35 min., then I’ll crank to 325 for 45 Min. Check my internal temp.....first time using a pellet smoker.....wish me luck

Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
What video editing program do you use?
Adobe premier pro.
The Backyard Griller ok cool thanks for responding
in the butter and franks, i add red wine vinegar.....gives it a great acidic edge
Thanks for watching!
Do you flip them?
Jeff Meyers yes I did, I think only twice. Give them a try they are very simple but very delicious. Thanks for watching!
what brand season salt did you use?
The Gangjob Legacy hi There, it is the Fiesta brand. I buy it at Heb, Walmart or Sam's. Check out 0.41 of the video. Thanks for watching.
thank you sorry i couldnt really see the brand name in video thank you!
How long did you keep it at 300 for?
Hey there, about 20 minutes. Just as long as they get crispy and golden. You can leave them longer, it depends how you like them. Thanks for watching and I hope that you give them a try.
In the video, he says total time was 1 hr 25 min. at the 5:25 mark. so that seems to be 30 min. at 200, then 55 min. at 300 according to the video
Do u gotta use butter
You can use what you like, thanks for watching.
Total cook time?
About 1 1/2 hrs
Did you use the same method of 1/2 cup of butter and bbq sauce for your BBQ mix? Or just straight BBQ?
Kyle Lorson I diluted the bbq with a little water, just a little and they tasted great.
I have to say, The BEST looking wings I have seen....DAm !!. One thing get that heat pan a cleaning...hahaha. I see a lot of folks cover with a HEAVY DUTY FOIL, easy clean up. Well good videos man.....

Did you mix butter w the Bbq sauce as well?
No just a little water.
The Backyard Griller thanks
How long total do you leave them on when you crank to 300 degrees? (Great video by the way!)
TeacherPianoPam not long about 25 to 30 min. Depends on your grill.
Love hot wings. They looked delicious. I couldn't hear the total cook time on 200 or 300 degrees. Send some my way, yum. Keep smoking and Merry Christmas.

Thats what I like to hear, people getting out cooking in the backyard! Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for some more wing videos coming soon.
So what’s the total cooking time ?
The whole process took about 1 1/2 hrs but you can do it all in 1 hour if you dont cold smoke them.
How do you like the pitboss important in the market for a pellet cooker..?
Raul Gonzalez I have had it for one year and it has worked very well, everything I have cooked in it has turned out very good. Once you learn how to use it you will love it. If you can afford the 820 go for it, the extra size is great.

@@thebackyardgriller9076 doesnt your Pit Boss have the broiler slide on it that u can slide back and forth for a direct flame?
I've never thought of spraying wings with that spray butter. Genius.

Yeah brahh shout out to Hill Country Fair HEB brand.
You need to add about 2 heaping teaspns of granulated garlic in your buffalo mixture... Spicy Garlic Wings...
Woah! Gotta try that, thanks.
Drooling on the screens. Love sum chicken wings
Southern Smoke Boss thanks! Great for the Superbowl.
doing wings and a pig knuckle on my weber master touch ,the knuckle is just a test for if it fails it fails i got the wings :)

That is not a cold smoke. It is a low heat smoke. Cold smoking utilizes another box or cooler containing ice.
Brining those chicken wings would be a good idea?
Thanks for the suggestion and for watching.
Isn't Frank's Red Hot Wings already a wing sauce? I thought you only mix butter with the regular Frank's Red Hot Hot Sauce.
