  • On today's episode, I'm taking you to a $3.5 million dollar abandoned mansion once owned by a local politician who was busted for tax fraud. After eviction, she was forced to leave the house in a hurry, resulting in most of her things still left inside the house. As this modern mansion stays tied up in litigations and bankruptcy along with liens on the property, nature is beginning to reclaim it.

One quick question, if it belongs to creditors or banks for 6 years. How come this abandoned expensive house front entrance door is NOT LOCKED by creditors or banks? This abandoned house and cars should be already on the real estate and second-hand car market for sale by creditors or banks since 2016. It does not make any senses here…….:p

So many foreclosed properties end up like this whether by hook or crook. Seems the banks would rather take the loss than not get the full amount. So many new homes built during mid 2000s were sold to people who couldn’t afford them after the 3 yr arms were up. The banks got bailed out but so many homes were basically abandoned. Now we are going back into another housing boom. Housing prices are up 30 to 40 percent and here we go again with the big mortgages. Great video. Love a good backstory. You’ve got a great narrative voice. Thanks and stay safe.

The Gold Leafing in the house alone, costed a fortune!!! If it’s not a jar of liquid leaf, it was by extremely very thin sheets & it’s not paint either, it’s real gold!!! They had to have each sheet of gold leaf put up & spread, one right after another, to cover all over the entire space, to create the look of gold paint… You can buy a small box or liquid, of gold leaf with about 12 to 24 sheets of leaf per box or a maybe 4oz jar, for about $40+ a box or jar & then to cover that much square feet, just imagine how many boxes or jars was needed & how much it cost, to cover all the area’s they covered with leaf!!! Also, the master bedroom & kitchen ceilings were done with colored leaf & they definitely used sheets of leaf, to create the look they tried to create because, the different colors are blocks of merging colors, created by each sheet of leaf so, they definitely did not use jars of liquid leaf on those ceilings!!! Truly amazing & such a shame & waste, of a incredibly beautiful home…

Great job man. Your tone and demeanor and pace is excellent for these type videos. You show and talk about the sadness of the waste, but add a touch of humor to keep it from being a total downer. Hope you do more and keep em coming buddy. Btw the gold foil on the ceiling is called gold leaf. Usually 24 karat this pieces of real gold that is similar to tin foil, but much thinner

Yep, I would definitely have to do something to that master bedroom. Not only is the architecture off, but there are silver adornments in the bedroom and gold in the bathroom and that would drive me crazy! The waste is incredible. I’m pretty sure the apartment in the stables was probably for a stable master, or somebody who looked after at the horses. They wouldn’t have put a guest house by the horses. I think that maybe that wasn’t a chicken coop by the pool, maybe some kind of aviary? This could even be made into some kind of bed-and-breakfast, just to keep the waste away! Great explorer!

After a clean-up, there're still items that value several thousands of dollars altogether there. They could have donated and/or listed stuff on Craigslist for dirt cheap instead of letting it all sit there. They could have made an ad and offered everything that was left for someone to come and pick-up as much as they could for a flat price of $1k or something. Lots of people resell shit. So many options. Now a lot of that stuff is ruined to mold, bugs, rodents, whatev, and the rest that can be salvaged requires hours of restoration and cleaning.

The gold ceilings are Gold Leaf. Each sheet is about 3x5 in. It has to be applied one sheet at a time because it is VERY VERY THIN. The bedroom ceiling and columns are opal leaf. Same process. Time consuming. The apartment (back stairs) is for the LIVE-IN. Housekeeper or bulter. The apartment in the stables was for the stable help. Generally the lead stable hand. Beautiful. Could be salvaged for a worthy cause.

are we listening to ourselves? This woman politician came upon hard times after divorcing her mega-wealthy Real Estate hubby who died suddenly.
Why did all the bad luck fall on her? What did she do that was so horrible?
Yes, some of the decor choices were a bit garish. Yes, the scale & scope of the house was over-the-top. Yes, it is awful to see the terrible waste of quality clothing & furniture left in the property. But who are we to judge this woman, in saying she could not be trusted to carry out the will of her constituents?
jesus christ, look at TFG donald trump. How can that foul excuse of a human still be allowed to see the light of day?
