Crabs have gills and breathe underwater as well as live on land as long as their gills stay wet. Some crabs have an additional modified appendages that allow them to breathe in open air.
Point being...the crab wouldn't die just because it plunged into the sea, unlike a spider.

You know the thing that bothers me about the beginning with Skull Island, is that it conflicts with the story of “Kong: Skull Island”. The guy had video of the skull crawlers that would have contradicted the idea that Kong killed all of the soldiers. Of course he killed some of them, but the majority of the people that died were from skull crawlers.
Kong did kill most of the soldiers. His opening fight with the helicopters downed nearly all the choppers and killed about 30 men; it's only the relative handful of crash survivors whom the skullcrawlers and other island predators even had a chance to go after, of which all of the former combined took out 10 or so.
I am a little lost here.

I guess I could see that if this was a very short recap with only the narration, but for an entire hour long movie I can't just sit and listen to one guy describing a whole movie as it plays, with the entire soundtrack cut out. I just cannot understand, much less be entertained by this?
