My mama loved this song. She requested we play it at her funeral, and we most certainly did. Thank you for such an amazing piece of music i will forever hold dear to my heart.
I played this for my mom over and over again as I sat and held her hand while she was in hospice. And then at her memorial. It’s everything.

I am not typically a "country" fan aside from Pasty Cline and Dolly Parton, but when I heard this song in passing, it honestly made me almost instantly start crying. I had to come and listen to the whole thing. Lovely song and message, I cried like a big baby the whole time! The video, the lyrics, the beautiful voices; very meaningful.

The message is so universal. I love it. It's such a basic human need to be part of some kind of family. To be missed when you aren't there, to be accepted when you are. This song is in many ways stating the obvious, but we need to be reminded of these things, so thank you!
I have homeschool four kids and our family is often in the position of hosting friends and family and strangers for meals, etc. in our home. I love my life and I'm grateful to have good work to do but I also have substantial mental health issues. I just heard this song a few days ago and it changed my life because it reminded me in a hopelessly poignant and vulnerable way of "why" I do what I do.

He's such a great songwriter you forget he's also a killer guitarist.
This song gets me every time I hear it. I spent a long time isolating myself from friends and family, focused more and more on my household and all we were going through, embarrassed by our living situation. When I finally convinced my wife that we had to make big changes, starting with moving, it was hard even to get her to look at houses. I played The Highwomen for her and we listened to this song over and over. I told her this was what I was really looking for, more than a literal house, I wanted to open our lives back up, bring in the people we love, make friends, get to know the neighbors . . . I wanted a home where I could share time with other people and they would feel welcome.
It's a work in progress, but it's working, and this song helped us find the words to talk about what we needed.
Keep singing this song, keep on bringing people to your kickass table.

Redesigning Women is the song that would wake up our 6th grader on her alarm every morning. I miss that little part of our routine since she is sleeping in a little now, but feel grateful to be healthy and safe at home. Wow. This song just hits different when you have kids if your own.
Just saw Brandi Carlile in concert at the Gorge Amphitheatre. It was fantastic! The band's that opened, Luscious, and Sarah McLachlan, each played for at least an hour. We had to leave before complete end, so missed last few songs. I looked for local write up and hear they ended with this song, "Crowded Table". Seems very appropriate. 🥰
