  • Learn how to make coleslaw two ways! An easy, creamy coleslaw recipe + a vinegar based coleslaw (no mayo coleslaw). Homemade coleslaw is the perfect side dish for summer parties, potlucks and barbecues. My recipe is light, flavorful and has far less sugar than you’ll find in store-bought versions or from KFC.
Coleslaw is a great recipe to make ahead for meal prep and it will last for 3-5 days in the fridge. Cabbage is extremely healthy, so enjoy what I consider to be the best coleslaw recipe!

Hi, I love coleslaw & wanted to make my own for the very 1st time! I made the mayo based coleslaw. I didn’t have celery seed so I used 1/4 tspn of celery salt in place of 1/4 tspn of salt. I added 2 stalks of celery-finely chopped because I love celery! This was honestly the best tasting coleslaw I’ve ever eaten & I’ve had a lot! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! Great recipe!! I salted the cabbage first, put in a Callander over a large bowl and let it sit in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Lots of extra moisture seeped out. Then I rinsed the cabbage mixture really well and transferred it to a salad spinner to remove all of the excess moisture from the rinsing. I used your mayo based dressing, exactly as your recipe stated (except I only used 1/8 tsp of salt). Voila!!! A wonderful tastings coleslaw, without the dressing getting soupy. Thank you.

I once tried coleslaw with a dressing made out of yogurt. Lighter than mayonaise but still very tasty

Ikr. I love it so so much. I add some clarified butter, just a little, mix with honey and yogurt and then add veggies. God! So yummmmmmm! Specially after 2-3 hrs.

I bought shredded cabbage today. I like how you used the knife to cut the cabbage...easy enough for next time. Both your recipes sound delicious. I must try them
