    We are so helpful to people asking for directions because most of the time it's easier to take them there than to teach them the way. Don't know about other people but I can't help thinking that if they get lost it'll be my fault, so I don't think twice, I just say "follow me". : )

    Thank you for liking our country this much. For an imigrant that always gets to find out that most people know nothing about Portugal ( or that annoyingly think they are much superior and that we are a poor country) and how great we were and amazing we are , it is quite refreshing to see someone so passionate about our culture. Your accent is really great! If you knew the amount of times I've tried to get my British and Irish friends to say words like João, pão, cão and it never sounds right...LOL.

    Cristopher columbus WAS portuguese, but the portuguese kingdom didn't want to finance his trip, so he travelled to America with Spanish boats

      Cristopher Columbus wasn't portuguese. Indeed he was born in Genoa ( Italy ) . The portuguese kingdom only regreted his try to get to India faster .
      He get to America by a missunderstood , that made his trip one of the most important to the History (sorry my english, I'm portuguese) !

    I am glad you learn rather than thinking you were going to "learn" them your ways.
    On a second note: The authority of Jesus Christ was never broken throughout the centuries ever since He, JC, gave this authority to the 1st Pope, St, Peter. This authority still "vigente"/valid today with Pope Francis. To prove this follow the books (In libraries throughout the world) of the list of all successors of St. Peter. This succession of the authority of Jesus Christ was NEVER broken. Not even in the dark ages -- as they have some of you believe...

      +Michael DSP not fado

    • @Horhne
      @Horhne 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      You are correct. The word in common usage to mean fate is 'destino' but the speaker here is quite correct when he says the word fado also means fate. It comes from the Latin word 'fatum' from which we derive the word 'fate' in English. 'Fate' and 'Fado' have the same root. The use of the word 'fado' to mean fate fell out of general use when it was adopted to as the name of this style of singing However, it still persists in the lyrics of fado songs where it can often suggest both the singing and concept of fate.
