Hello Yulia! My wife and I are also thinking of moving to Portugal from Vancouver, Canada. We just came across you channel and enjoy watching it so far. We visited Lisbon in the past and have at least a general sense of what Portugal is about and watching videos as yours gives a lot more insight about life there.
@@ThisisYulia Are you still in Portugal? Кстати, мы в какой-то степени земляки с вами. Мы переехали в Канаду из России в 1998-м, потрудились здесь на славу и теперь ищем не очень дорогое и достаточно тёплое место на земле, чтобы встретить там старость. :)
@ThisisYulia thank you too much, I was planning to immigrate to Canada but after watching your videos I loved Portugal, but I have a question please, are software developer jobs available in Portugal for a person with one-year only experience?
Hi Yulia! Love your videos! I’m a portuguese girl dreaming of going to Canada! Could you maybe do a comparison video between the two countries from your perspective? Hope you’re feeling alright! Desejo-te um óptimo fim-de-semana ☺️
I am just assuming you are approved NHR, but now that there are talks of the NHR ending -- if Portugal for whatever reason did revoke your NHR status, would you stay living in Portugal?
A latte costs 5 € in Lisbon since people are actually willing to pay for it. And it is the same around the country. That's what you people that come to Portugal fail to see: you don't just bring yourselves to this country, you bring everything else (good and bad). Also everyone speaks about how things are way cheaper in Portugal, but most people fail to mention that's because locals here have really short medium wages compared to USA, Canada or other european countries - in the past 3 years most are even being forced to move out of cities because they can't afford housing in a 30 min car distance to their "in office work" and that's where most of the rage against foreigners comes from. I'd agree foreigners alone are not the issue, but tell that to a low income family that's been forced to move out of their home while they still have jobs, to camp on the bus station park or in Lisbon metro, seeing their homes being turned into short or long rentals for expats, digital nomads and tourists. Anyway be very welcome to Portugal and make sure you contribute with your taxes - this beautiful country wasn't built with compliments and praises on the internet, but rather with hard work and tax money to pay for the infrastructure (same as all other countries in the world, I'd assume).
Hi your vids are very helpful and honest. Japanese Canadian here in Alberta. I’m coming from a very different background than most you’d hear from. I’m thinking of doing a science after degree and then apply to a great ma in palaeontology in licking then hopefully PhD and then never leave lol Portugal had an amazing palaeontology heritage and by the sea AND filled with Portuguese food and sexy people so to me it sounds incredible. I’ve discovered Lourinhã the Dino capital and I love rain and cool climate so the north of Portugal sounds perfect. So if you encounter any Portuguese girls who love Dino’s and Canadians and Asians send em my way! lol
canada sounds. nightmare. I used to love it, but I was in vancouver 25 years ago before the chinese bought it up. I love canadians but canada now sounds just awful.
'I kinda like it here in Portugal' - I'm not sure if that's a compliment but it will have to do, won't it?. I can imagine one small figurine standing on each of your shoulders. From the left shoulder the voice is saying 'What sort of a country is this, which doesn't even have a real winter? And the spiders, where do all these spiders come from? Lets just go back to Canada', and the other figurine whispers in your ear 'Pay no attention to him, he's grumpy all the time. Let's stay here'. And your head shakes from side to side, unable to decide...
Spiders? I feel like there are no spiders here, just cockroaches. After Canadian spiders who climb to 30 floor and live on your balconies, I'm not afraid of the local ones 💀
@@ThisisYulia If my memory isn't failing me you made a video a long time ago complaining about spiders in Portugal. It stayed in my memory because I found it weird, there are few spiders here.
even tho I love love NYC, I wouldn’t live in the US. as for other countries, I’d love to live in Scandinavia and/or the Netherlands. maybe one day I’ll film a video about moving to either of those 🙌🏻
Next year i am planning to apply to move to Portugal as digital nomad through D7 visa. I like high mountainous towns. Is there any towm im Portugal whete you recommend me to move based on the description i mentioned?
Yulia, I am planning to come to Portugal on Job Seeker visa. My background is in Finance/ Accounts field...Can you please tell me which city should i choose to get Job Easily?
Portugal is doomed is the Venezuela of EU. Those bunch of oligarchs from overseas turned portugal into an amusement park an open air cage. I am eu citizen I was offered a job in porto in a call center for 1000 euro net pay, I won’t get deported but I checked few feedback and seem I risked to end up homeless or in a food bank plus inflation and recession. If you do not have extra income or three wages you are screw plus still a backward country .To sum up another place to skip , don’t get why people give their ass to move there and even chase a visa and so on..
This “lifestyle” in youtube is a big misleading thing. I live in Canada and I have my mornings to do my stuff. I don’t need to move to a different country for that. Be careful with these TH-cam perspectives…
woooow, if you think Portugal is digitalised you would feel you landed in year 2245 if you lived in Brasil. haha We Brazilians struggle with how bureaucratic and slow and confusing and NOT digitalised services are here in Portugal. Especially government stuff.😅😅 Yeah, each culture with their perks, but a definite point for Portugal goes to healthcare (even tough the Portuguese keep complaining). I would give another to safety, which is ultimately the VERY reason us Brazilians leave. That and corruption. It’s such a shame.
Enjoying my listening english class with you❤❤❤
thank you so much 💛
Julia made me chuckle after 22 seconds. This channel keeps it real

Nice , thanks
wow the CTT tip is incredible haha i wish i knew before! when you renewed your SEF did they ask for a 1 year contract of rental?
I was lucky and I auto renewed my residence online. they literally asked to confirm my name and address + pay the fee
Madam I like the way you say "ROSSIAN" 😀 , lovely content ma'am hearing you is a 'fantastic' experience. 👍
Thank you! 😃

не всё же сразу) автоматическое продление сделали - уже большой шаг чтобы разгрузить SEF

местные бухгалтеры - это вообще отдельный разговор. спросишь 5 человек и у всех 5 будет разное мнение на одну проблему 😮💨
There's something about this video, and that's because Canada comes across as a suburban and parochial country (which I guess its fair)
something sad, I meant

I'd say Lisbon as it's the capital and the biggest city in Portugal :)
Thank you for your answer :)
What is the situation of taxation
You can withdraw money from ATM without any card just with your mobile
