Well that’s a good thing. If your staff is still together after 4-5 years, there’s a reason for that, not much ambition. It’s ok for some coaches to stay around off course. But Bama and Georgia get new staff every few years. That’s why it’s important to hire well and recruit well. It helps that they are running BKs overall scheme with their own tweaks to it
Hankton already is. He's been putting out dogs for years. Hope we can keep him for a couple more seasons. Someone will poach him to be OC.
It seems like BK fires/ promotes to keep the future stable. Sloan for Dembrock, with Hankton in the wings & Brad working his way up. You hire Baker with, People’s & Davis as up & coming back ups. Olsen, Raymond in the wings. Continuity is essential with portal trolls always looking to snake your players.
Best guess, CBK thinking. IF Nuss has a very good year 4000 yards or better passing 10-11 games won. What would be the better odds that Joe Sloan would want to make the jump to HC. He played at East Carolina but if he gets big HC interest Sloan maybe gone which would leave a hole at OC or will there be a hole. Hankton would be there to run the show with conceivably the hottest offensive weapons on any NCAA team. I would guess if SEC teams were thinking the same thing, they could move to cripple LSU by offering Hankton a massive salary at the OC position or see if could be led to a HC at a smaller school. Leaving CBK high and dry searching in the coaching market.
