    Awesome tear down vid, and I don’t think your wasting anyone’s time when doing these types of vids, actually I’d bet you’d get a lot more subscribers for doing more of these types of vids , because even for people like myself who own nitro Rc’s and electric Rc’s it’s very informative when you can watch others doing tear downs of all different types of models, and maybe your all about Redcat , but you buy every different kind of models they have and someone like me hasn’t owned one or maybe just a few , it’s still always good to see someone tearing different units down for the info I may not have on that particular brand but maybe interested and your tear downs and info make my decision easier, plus just the simple knowledge of other Rc units and the little things I may find helpful when tearing down one of mine !! Plus it gives the newbies great info and gets them more interested, especially when they now have the help they needed to do a tear down without being scared of not knowing how or where to start !! Great vid !! Keep up the Great Work and Vids !! 👍✌️

    I fix my buddies Kaiju's for him, I race oval rc and have built some fun bashers and scale crawlers, I pressure wash all my cars/trucks off, get in all the nooks and crannies, sometimes I pull electronics sometimes not, never had a problem) Towel dry and set next to a fan (so the steel doesn't rust), they look brand new after!! Happy RC'ing 😎

    Yeah my pinion grub screw came off too. Definitely we should all put some loctite on our set screws on the motor shaft before running our Kaiju. I did the same thing (took out all 3 diffs). The outer ones were super easy to access except for the center diff. Not too difficult, but not super easy. Just lots of screws, but I use my power driver.

    Did the pinion gear set screw on pinion u installed have any contact with spur ? Looked like it was from camera view, i can see i wont be tinkering with my kaiju very much, that looks like a whole days worth of work lol, much needed info, im currently running only 4s and for most people its plenty fast but im hard to keep happy tryin to figure out if goin with a 4274 can size and 2200-2300kv on 4s would give anything faster ? Not going 6s as i know be easier and faster at cost of ripping drivetrain to pieces ?

    • @NPCRC
      @NPCRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It never gave me any issue. It must not have been making contact. I am not sure you will fit a 74mm motor in there... not without finding a place for the ESC to go,.
      I am about to do a Hobbywing 4268 upgrade, hoping the better motor will like the 12T pinion better. It gets hot with stock. Hoping I can just plug and play and get a decent upgrade in KV and motor quality to help me stay at 12T!
      Have a video coming on it sometime next week!

    • @4077661466jp
      @4077661466jp ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NPCRC good call didn't think about the esc, from what ive seen anytime kv value is increased so does the heat generated fairly new to hobby but it seems at best voltage is key and at very least lower kv can be geared higher to further or retain speed at lower temps least from info gathered from pro/cons of high-low kv ratings, what i dont know and is pricey to find out is if there's any difference between kaiju stock 4268 2100kv motor and a say hobbywing 4268 2200kv or tekin t8 2250kv not sure can size ?

    • @NPCRC
      @NPCRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@4077661466jp The Tekin is longer. like 74mm if I am not mistaken but the motor quality, temp limits and features are better on the hobbywing one. I will be able to confirm or prove wrong, here soon, as I just need to make the swap and compare temps with my 12T pinion. Going to run them the same and see if it is cooler after the run!

      @@NPCRC ok sweet gonna be on look out for this video unless already has been out, as some time ago you replied to me, but im always up to my neck with variety of stuff needed done, realistically more than its physically possible to complete 😮‍💨, regarding factory motor temps ive cutt some tear drop shape holes in bottom corners of windshield and threw an aluminum powerhobby dual fan and heat sink on it and with the amount of air being generated by these fans it's so far hasn't got anything close to temps it was reaching but also im stock pinion but run 7000mah 100c zee lipos and like to hammer it off road alot and no heat issue so far.

    what id like to no is how dose the pinion teeth bend like that with a plastic spur mine are bent to

    • @NPCRC
      @NPCRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 12t I uses was not a hardened pinion. That mixed with the mesh being too tight, it can damage the pinion for sure!

  • @joseCalderon1976
    @joseCalderon1976 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    To get to the center diff I went through the bottom. The only screws that I had to mess with from the top were the rear and front diff top covers and the rear screws holding rear module to the chassis. After that I removed the rear differential and out came the center diff. Actually you don't even have to mess with the front diff if you don't have to service it. Just remove the bottom plates. Damn I should have made a video. I wasn't trying to remove the motor though or pinion.

    • @NPCRC
      @NPCRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I did mention that as well... The sensitive access can be done completely through the bottom just like the rear access can be done with just those four screws. I was more on a hunt to find out what was wrong with my pen so I started from the top. You will still need to access the screws and things from the top to be able to get to the center diff access because you got to drop the rear to get that diff pinion out of the rear

  • @beaglegod1
    @beaglegod1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Another newbie question. Since I'm about to install a heatsink. When I reinstall the motor is there anything I need to do to make sure I have the proper gear mesh?

    • @NPCRC
      @NPCRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not if you keep the 10T pinion on. The set screw and the lock screw together lock it in perfect mesh for the 10t. Upgearing, you remove the set screw and use the lock screw to mesh it a more traditional way

      A lot of it has to do with preference but if you're looking at doing something that's going to help it perform a little bit better, something like 300K in the center with 80 to 100K in the front and rear

  • @beaglegod1
    @beaglegod1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      putty, or JBWeld are the easiest to lock but i would recommend going with some 1 mil diff oil and seeing if that helps you. It will be close to locking but allow some slip if needed in the event of an accident or bad landing with the throttle open.
