  • The Redcat Kaiju EXT is a great 1/8 scale monster truck/truggy - but it is a little floppy. One of my goals with this truck is to take it to the the racetrack to see how it will do. For that, it certainly needs to be a little more planted.
    Enter the Redcat swaybar kit!!!
    Swaybar kit (RER 13336)
    - From Amazon: amzn.to/2ZGoGGF
    - From Redcat: www.redcatracing.com/?ref=faS...
    In this video, I install the swaybar, and then show a back-to-back comparison of how the truck handles with it.

    I'm sure you probably already did this but if not, extend your shocks out left & right as far as they can go on the last holes that'll help a good bit... 👍🏼

      Typically, the swaybars really help.
      It was hard for me to say for sure in this test.

      Yep - that is what I think I need to do.
      Might steal the one from my Kraton.

      I have them - I just get nervous putting all of that extra strain on the suspension.

      I enjoy trying different vehicles and designs.
      This truck has been really solid for me (except for the rear upper control arm - but we know Redcat is fixing it).
      This truck really is a good value - $150 cheaper than the Kraton 6S!
      Have fun with your Arrmas - I know I enjoy mine. :)
      If you think of branching out, this could be a good option!

    Are you supposed to compress the suspension when you final tighten the sway bar mounts ?? I had read somewhere awhile back that was how they were supposed to be mounted to get the full improvement from them ? Idk

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question!
      I guess it can make sense. I will try it!

    Simply make some new thicker sway bars with piano wire from the hobby store, you can make a selection using different wire gauges & dead cheap to do.

      Yes it is! 6S out of the box!

  • @ThatSwedishGuy

    Yes the sway bar might be a tad bit thin, but when you installed them, did you have free movement of the sway bar? It should not bind at all at the mount on the diff case. If it binds there they will not work.
    Where the sway bar attaches to the arms you should be able to adjust the tention of the sway bar.
    A sway bar works by twisting it self, Hemse we call them torsion bar on our 1/1 Cars, if it binds at the diff case the sway bar is simply just gonna work as an extra spring for the suspension as no movement is transferred to the other side. Hope it helps, look up Adam drakes video on how sway bar works.

      Thanks for the tip!
      You can't tell on the video, but yes - you could see the sway bar twisting from side to side...just not strong enough to do much!

    mark it with a marker before you try to line it up and any thicker bar wont fit in the spot where its supposed to go in the middle. Its already the perfect size for that gap.

    Seems that's a few fixes for this now, to get it to run the way you want it. Sounds like you still need to upgrade. Not really making me feel like this would be that good of a rig to get, seeing the issues with the control arms and now the Sway bar inadequacy. Well done Troy. Thanks for sharing

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ahh - don't take it negative.
      Redcat has said they are fixing the control arm issue now.
      This is me just showing an easy upgrade - that just didn't help as much as I had hoped.
      This is a very solid truck!

    My redcat machete wobble bad side to side in the back at hight speed.. do i need to put the 6s sway bar on my 4s? I have the Proline belted monster tires on it?

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That is unusual. I think this is usually due to the tires or gyro. But the Redcat does not come with a gyro installed.
      I would try different tires.

    He said to put the sway bar over the driveshaft but when the suspension travels the driveshafts rub on the sway bar, is that normal?
