Wet wild kookaburra birds come inside during a thunderstorm. But do the 2 kookaburras get along?
Please check with your local wildlife experts before offering any food to the native wildlife in your area. What I offer these birds is an occasional treat and only a tiny portion of their overall diet.

Kookaburras are the coolest birds. When I was a kid I found a baby kookaburra whose beak was stuck in between the palings of an old wooden fence in our backyard. Poor little guy was freaking out so I freed him or her and gave them some sliced Devon before they took off to reunite with their parents who'd been observing us closely. Every single day when I'd get home from school they'd be waiting for me in the backyard. In Summer we'd leave the sprinkler on for them. After a while there was a small flock of random native birds I'd rescued - two magpies, a currawong, three kookaburras and they all just hang out in our backyard. Growing up in Australia is awesome.

    Those birds are smart!
The first bird perched on her arm for a minute to be polite, then he went straight for the heat source, the lights we're keeping him warm and drying him out.

i absouloutly love birds like magpies and kokobarus. We throw some food in our backyard, and mostly the magpies come. The kokobarus mostly come on the weekend, but they dont come as much as magpies. Thank you for taking care of them, i can see you love them so much, and that they love back. I have seen you doing it and got inspierd. i started to invite wild birds to my backyard. when i go on walks, i usaly just see magpies so i feed them alot.

Must wet and wild Qld. I have kookies who visit too. They call for me to come feed them and allow me to stand right by them. But it's the maggies who come inside. Walk right on in to my loungeroom, demanding brekkie.
So grateful for the beautiful creatures we Aussies get to have.

That's so true, we get flocks of sulfer crested cockatoos down the park and heaps of rainbow lorikeets just hanging around my back porch not to mention the kookaburras like U see here and every now and then a group of wonderfully 😊vibrant king parrots drop by it's a bird lovers paradise for sure, I'm only 40mins out of Sydney in a heavily built up area but they all seem to have adapted really well to humans and it's really cool seeing the city dwelling cockatoos flying in between sky scrapers U just don't expect to see such beautiful birds flying about the city.

That is so Awesome reminds me of my Mother growing up with the Blue jays that use to come to her before Big Storms hit to come in the house. It all started when my Mother found a nest that was knocked out of a tree during a Storm and she saved these three baby Blue Jays and after the Storm put them back with their nest into the tree.
