    Hi
    I have a Gti 2018 but the option performance monitor isn’t available. There is any way to enable that function?
    Thanks for your help

    Great vid! Worked like a charm. What is the difference between ESC Sport, ESC Off, and the original set up which has ASR off?

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jim Sokolowski So ESC Sport will let you have some amount of slip without letting the car get out of control, ASR off allows for wheelspin through the driven wheels but no more than that, and ESC off completely turns off the stablity control allowing for wheelspin through the driven wheels and the rear end to slip during cornering without any interference.

    Awesome video. Does increasing the idle by 50rpm really make that much difference? Guess every little helps when you're at the track

      LukeTabasco To be honest, not really, its just a cool little thing you can do but it does help.

    I have a non-PP GTI and for those that have one too i wouldn't reccomend putting the XDS on the Hard setting because after i did that the first time i went spirited driving i got my brakes overheated and started making noises.

    1st, thanks for doing this!
    Will the 06 code ESC off, will that also turn off ASR? Basically the ESC off overrides all?
    I’m going to autox the car and want full control with my hands and feet.
    Thx in advance!

    Have you coded pace car lights? If so a tutorial would be much appreciated! If not, just some steps on how to do it would be great. Cheers

    One question I have about VCDS is how or where do you even get the coding info on how to do these changes that VCDS can provide. In other words where do you even begin to learn the coding? Is it just "out there" on the web, is there a book? What?
    Seems like someone (like me) could really f'k something up if I don't have step by step instructions.

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      nofaithjusthope There is a more advanced version of the vcds software, but the version like this wont really let you mess anything up that bad. It just wont accept the coding. And all of the thing i listed in my video were on trusted forums, tuning websites, etc.

    I have a 2017 GTI Sport APR stage 2 and I got a cel a few days ago after the tune and my car idles very weird. Whenever I rev it in park or neutral the rpms hold at 1100 for a while and bounce up and down. Can the VCDS detect the problem?

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      chanaas cruuzz I would imagine it would through data logging, but i would contact your tuner first to get some info about that. Because that doesnt sound right, something needs to be adjusted there.

    Is there a launch control option. If so. Can you determine the rpm to set it at

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin Hoffman Unfortunately through the VCDS system, no there isnt, the only way that ive seen at least is either through custom tuning which is really expensive and no one likes to custom tune these cars, or through a WOT box, which is a whole thing in itself and it’s universal so it can cause serious damage to your car. (If you dont know what a WOT box is, look it up on youtube).

    Hello!
    Please help me with the steps to adapt the turbo for my mk7 gti us version 12/2014.
    I put on the car a is38 turbo from a golf R, I need the steps to adapt the actuator with vcds please!
    I tried to go “select->engine-> adaptation” and in that list does not appear charge pressure actuator... I think I need a security code to unlock some more things there... I use the last vcds version
    Please give me the steps to adapt the actuator, you are the best in this!! Thanks a lot!!!

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gabriel Scupra Im not sure if you can adjust that with this version of the VCDS software. I know there is a full version of the system where you can adjust the function of hard parts, aka wastegate, throttle body, map sensor, etc. But that version is only available at a higher price and for companies that actually tune the cars. If it were me, i would jist take it to a local tuner to you and get the car tuned correctly. Hope this helps!

    • @Scupri
      @Scupri 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MK7 GTI Racing Channel thank you very much sir, i already have a stage 1 tune, and the tuner i always rely on is 250 km away from me, i just need this adaptation to use the car with the is38 turbo until i reach the tuner and get it done again! Cheers!

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gabriel Scupra You shouldnt have any problems with running the car on a bigger turbo without tuning for it, if you need to drive it to get to the tuner, do so, but dont push the car and get it into a high amount of boost. The is38 is the same turbo as the is20 just a little bigger so it has all the same sensors, wastegate, etc. The car wont drive any different until you floor it, just dont do that until you get it tuned! But thats just what ive heard from other people, do it at your own risk, and obviously if the car has any issues, dont drive it!

    • @Scupri
      @Scupri 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      MK7 GTI Racing Channel I’ll do some more research, my car is in perfect condition, and i don’t want to risk something, will find a way, thank you very much for the time and dedication! Keep up!

    Great video, do you know if those mods add any "flash count" to the ECU so it doesnt flag TD1 at the dealer?

    • @6thGenRacing
      @6thGenRacing  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maxim Lelièvre Im not sure man but i would imagine no because all of these “mods” are all programs of audi/vw etc. None are modified to work with the car. The VAG-com cable is used by dealerships to diagnose cars in house.
