- A baby orangutan who was torn from his mother's arms after she was shot dead has been rescued from a cage. One-year-old Bomban was found by volunteers last month after being held in in captivity for three months. He had been imprisoned in a 50cm by 40cm wooden cage by a farmer and was found with a bullet in his right thigh -- believed to have rebounded off his mum.

The look some of these babies have in their eyes makes me sick to my stomach. Way too young in life for that type of suffering. It is not fun seeing them like this. Thank God for all the help these folks do within these organizations, these babies deserve happiness and love and care!!!!

What is wrong in this world today. That innocent baby's mother was killed in front of him then torn away. He must be devastated and so confused on what just happened to him. I hope he does well and for those people who done may they got in hell.

You can see the sadness in that beautiful little baby’s eyes. The poor little boy did not deserve this. He is an innocent child who misses his mothers love and embrace. At this young age, he is very much like a human baby.

I agree deeply. What is the deepest Truths in all living things doesn't have to be explained as much as it is true on certain level we know what is right. It is why some rare times in the wilds when.some humans take a risk and help infant animals to save their lives, knowing the mother animal, that quite possibly might freak out and come after the in a killing rage for touching their baby's. It's true of bears who may tear down a house to kill you and of even.the 'gentle' doe that can slice you deep with sharp hooves and speed but somehow the dumb animals sometimes allow humans to be near and help baby's in distress. It is always risky and no one should ever try it without someone who understands animals near by.

I think the Indonesian government needs to tax donations to these ape sanctuaries and rescues by 50-60%, with the proceeds going to help the poor child this nation that live without the basic necessities such as food and medical care. Meanwhile these apes eat constantly with round the clock medical care? It just makes me furious how people are prioritizing the future and well being of a bunch of fifthy apes over precious human children. Shame Shame and more shame.

Poor little mite. I sure hope he'll be ok out there in the big, bad world all by himself. This video doesn't give any information about where he was released. Was he released into a community of orangutans that have also been rehabilitated? Surely they didn't just drop him off somewhere and said "good luck".
IAR will take him back to their centre & put him through a lengthy rehabilitation process.It can take years but they'll make sure he learns the skills vital for his survival in the wild.

Not sure if that's a good idea? I watch a video where they shot the mother, just to take the baby and 1 of the last thing the mother did, was to squeeze her breast. So her baby could get some milk, it's 1 of the saddest thing to watch..
If it was just taken from it's mother it would still be resisting them and screaming.

@@dsbassoon the people you see carrying the baby orangutan, they are the one that recuse her/ him. and not the ones that killed the mother and rip the baby from her arms, and was probably been left alone, so of course they need the feel of being held safe, and wanted. That baby is only 2 weeks to a month old.. so she been without her mother for at least that long..
