Recently we've been clearing out a lot of the eastern red cedars from our land, and we wanted to make good use of the wood, so here is one project that we like to do. My landlord had some trees cut down last fall. I found a nice chunk of maple that has a bore head design inside! Great cutting board!

I have done that before. I love the trees that are not completely round. I prefer the ones like that one base that looks like a flower. The more out of shape the better for me. I am from Maysville in NW Arkansas.

Those look great. A great way to use the trees you cleared. After my father retired from the Navy we moved to the Pryor area then to my grandparents area in Kenwood/Rose area. When I was young and people tended to make there own stuff more times then not back then we made coasters ECT by hand. Try taking one of the larger pieces and making a clock... people would be amazed with what you all could come up with...came in from the Crocker's
