Corrections and Clarifications: 1. Bruce asks Barry to go back in time in the comic. He says no. 2. Firestorm's offscreen mission was to craft the gold kryptonite dagger. 3. The bad music playing in the Metropolis crater scene is apparently a glitch. I've seen other recordings that have much better, sombre music in the scene. 4. Adam says "Kazam!" when he's on the throne. 5. I wasn't making a joke about "World's Finest." I was making a joke about "Chapter 11", like in the MKX video.
The music playing during the scene with batman saying hell miss Clarke is a common glitch. Its meant to be quiet. But its still a REALLY common glitch.
@@The4thSnake ahh ok I didn't see it before oh and also with crossovers being with alot of the rosters smash Bros makes it work Edit:oh and also btw Injustice 3 needs to have the mk characters play a role and sub zero could be that character it seems like him and Batman can get along
And then Raiden is just like, “Wait a sec. Nabu?” “Holy shit, Raiden, is that you?” “Nabu, who is this man?” And the rest of the encounter is just Raiden and Nabu chilling while Nelson looks on, baffled.
You really have to appreciate the fact that Joker, Atrocitus and Grid are fully playable characters in this game, despite only having one canonical appearance, whereas Baraka, Rain, Sindel, Smoke, Sector and Cyrax get none despite occasionally having more than one fight in both MKX and MK11.
That’s because they’re re-used assets in MK’s case, Grid is a skin, Joker is straight from IH1 except the super, and Atrocitus is an original take though.
@@someonerandom7660 *Stomp* Scorpion agreed to fight for us, in exchange for freedom from the Netherrealm. By killing him, you have saved us the trouble. Both you and your brother were pawns to Shinnok
34:40 when Bruce says “forgot that was there” was actually pretty significant. It hints at the fact that the story brings up later in the final fight that Bruce doesn’t want to fight Superman and just wants his friends back. Really nice and emotional scene that I loved and felt like should’ve been pointed out
@@2phonebabykeem913 S'truth. Sometimes I feel he's unduly harsh to NRS for some smaller thing - things you only notice when you already hold something in low regard - other times I think he's spot on. I just feel like the devs are in over their heads when it comes to the narrative side of things, like they didn't expect these projects to become such big-money tickets.
I feel like the mole in The Society was a bit pointless too. Everyone knew it was Selina from the moment they saw her. It would have been much better to not bother having Selina in the society, especially considering Ivy knows shes connecting to "The Bat" and therefore she wouldn't be believed for two seconds. Honest to god, what was the point? The worst bit is, they could have made it Deadshot, helping Batman to take down Grodd, doing all he can while under threat from his bomb implant, I mean, he gets called dog a few times. It would've been an interesting twist, but ah well
Not to mention Grodd can read minds, wouldn't be hard for him to see her true loyalties...one of Batman vs Grodd's fight intros even states that Grodd cannot read bats' mind due to "telepathic inhibitors". Would have made for an interesting story moment.
Actually have a decentish idea for a different way to handle the final chapter. At the least I tried. Set up is generally the same as before, two sides, different fights. Batman's generally goes the same except for the ending. Superman's is a little different in that Batman is not his final boss. For Superman's path, his fights against Hal and Barry show that he's actually come around from his whole Ubermench Injustice 1 arc and is clearly not down for fighting his friends and also doesn't toss Supergirl through a damn building. Supergirl, like before, leads Superman and Wonder Woman to Bruce. Wonder Woman goes off to fight Supergirl and unlike in the game, Superman doesn't punch first Batman first after their little back and forth. The fight ends with Superman and Batman punching each other tiredly until Superman gets on top and begins punching Bruce's mask until it breaks. Before he can punch again, Clark sees his friend's bloodied and bruised face, and in some flashbacks to the previous game, realizes he's repeating the same mistakes as before and refuses to kill Bruce. Wonder Woman, having just knocked Supergirl out, asks Clark to finish him off. Clark however refuses and Wonder Woman gets outright furious, saying they have a chance to get everything back, but Clark cuts her off, realizing that Wonder Woman fed on his fear and anger at the time, refuses to kill anyone else. The final fight begins between Superman and Wonder Woman, with Superman winning, restraining Wonder Woman with her own lasso. Superman willingly enters the Phantom Zone of his own choice and tells Supergirl that the House of Jor-El still stands for hope, that she is that new hope before walking through, ending Chapter 12 as Superman. Chapter 12 as Batman is mostly the same, minus Superman fighting Supergirl and the ending. Batman beats down Superman but instead of locking him up, the two have an honest discussion about their morals and how Clark's morals changed, with Bruce noting how on Braniac's ship, Clark looked like his old self again. Clark even wonders if things can ever go back to the way things were, and Bruce notes that things will be different for sure, but we can still ultimately make things better if we try. Inspired, Superman gains more confidence in himself and after much effort and patience, with help from Bruce, Supergirl, Hal, Barry (and maybe Harley?), the group forms a new Justice League. TLDR; Superman's ending deals with him feeling that he can't trust himself with his power after the events of Injustice 1 and Batman's ending helps Superman regain that old personality he used to have and redeems him. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Something else sort of worth mentioning is that one of the reasons that the base roster use recycled dialogue with the DLC and premier skins is because of a voice actor strike that was going on during the game's production. I have not done my research on how voice actors going on strike could've possibly forced NRS to not record new intro dialogues for the base roster but the fact that the main rosters of MKX and MK11 actually have unique dialogue with their DLC's (and that there were no public strikes that could've affected the video game industry during those game's respective productions) seems to be evidence of the strikes impact on Injustice 2's recording. Such a shame that Aqua Man could not have a unique intro with his nemesis, Black Manta. Basically, the limited intro dialogues are not NRS trying to be cheap. Sometimes real life crap enforces people to make due with less.
@@ginogatash4030 The voice actors went on strike for better pay and treatment when working. Basically, they all stopped taking work from various studios and offers to get these rights. Idk all the details, but they have been forced to remain the recording booth for extremely long periods of times, and it can lead to overworked situations. Like recording vomiting recordings over and over, until the actor actually feels like vomiting. Stuff like that.
@@ginogatash4030 No idea. But I will say the one who spearheaded the strike (Jennifer Hale) is someone I haven't seen in any anything recent as of late, versus all the characters she voiced before the strike. Id like to think they succeeded in getting better conditions for other voice actors, but at the cost of those who supported the strike struggling to find work nowadays because they caused it in the first place.
Honestly that Superman scene of him screaming when he sees Metropolis being gone only strengthened my hatred for this version of the character. Like, he's already unlikable but that scene just shows how non self aware he actually is. He ordered Doomsday, the creature who almost killed him, the creature he thought Lois was when he killed her, he orders that creature to flatten Metropolis, the city who's destruction is one of the main motivators for Superman turning into Space Hitler. You can not show Superman being traumatized by its destruction, then okay with its destruction, then traumatized by its destruction again. It just makes him look worse as it gives him the "Its okay when we do it" logic where its okay when he destroys it but if someone else does then its the worst thing ever. Between this and his interactions, I would honestly never play Superman in this game if it wasn't for the Bizzaro skin. I don't want to play as Space Hitler and I don't want to hear this dumbass talk about how he 'hates people who hurt humans' and 'won't fall so low as to hurt children'.
*Ahem* Shazam. He was just a child, A CHILDD! But honestly. I see that the injustice timeline is F---d. Superman is all of a sudden having bloody amnesia, like. His scream though. It didn't hurt, because. HE. Caused it. Why feel sad? And the story telling is.. just a bit mediocre. I'd say the story is fine. But, One thing that bothers me. Several. Years ago. Robin did this that. And all of a sudden he's nightwing. Nothing explained. All I know is that Grayson is dead, but. The game never really.. explains anything. Also, if I'm saying some wrong things here and there, I'm very sorry, but. Do you think darkseid would of been a better choice than **BIG BRAIN** But I'm very sorry if i'm wrong.
I have more dislike for this universe' Batman. This isn't just because of how much we have Batman shoved down our throats. This universe' Batman is terrible. We saw in the comics that after Superman killed the Joker, all he did was criticize Superman for killing someone. He doesn't try to help Superman get over his lose or anything. Some friend he is. Then when Superman kills an army of Parademons, Batman is critical of him for doing that even though they were inches away from murdering thousands of people. All the while, Batman doesn't actually offer any kind of counter point to the idea that heroes should kill, even though refusing to kill the Joker is what started the whole mess. In fact in the prequel comics, Kalibak even mocks how if no lethal force is employed he can just keep invading Earth over and over. Batman also criticized Superman for recruiting villains into the Regime, but Batman would go onto list the aid of villains himself when push came to shove. In the actual game, dialogue has Batman still saying Superman was wrong to kill the Joker, and when Superman tries to use reason over how to handle things after Brainiac's defeat, Batman attacks him with a kryponite knife. As far as we could tell, the actual villain was trying to use words in that situation, and the hero was the one who first resorted to violence. This is ontop of Batman's trust issues. He has difficulty trusting Flash and Green Lantern because they were part of the Regime, fine. But he trusts Harley Quinn over them? The former criminal? Superman is supposed to be the villain, but Batman himself manages to be so unlikable he may as well be a villain.
Well, that's not entirely true. His criticism of the gameplay mechanics have been unsubstantiated (MK9 especially). The only mechanics he seemed to be spot on about are the aggressive monetization schemes and the animation.
When he criticizes the fact of buying easy fatality coins, is fine. The fact he criticizes that pay to win mechanics exist is fine. Also a bit of criticism for this review, in the part of the review where he talks about the attack of Krypton, didn't need the part where he brings up Politics like showing his video on MK LGBT characters, which doesn't fit in the part he put it.
One problem I always have with Catwoman ever being on a villain's team is that it's so obvious that she's working for Batman. What mastermind would allow a superhero's side chick in your hideout when you know she's just gonna rat you out?
I know this isn’t what you meant, but I unwillingly imagined you just cooking some spaghetti, but then this video releases, you sit down to watch it through the end, and then the house burns down with you still focusing the video as the fire department pulls up
On the note of continuity issues, in the comic, all Superman was doing was moving the Arkham inmates to a more secure prison, and the game contradicts this by having him trying to kill them. Because with how the comic set things up, Superman was in the right in that situation and Batman was in the wrong. Arkham has notoriously poor security and its inmates really should be transferred somewhere else. While we have the Regime characters refusing to change, Batman isn't anymore likable with his refusal to kill, not to mention he is the one who starts the fight in the final chapter. Superman might have been the villain but he where he was using words, Batman used a knife. I much preferred the arcade endings to the story mode. I feel it says something about the story mode's writing that the arcade endings that some of the game's villains actually have more uplifting endings that the game's supposed good ending. I don't care if Deadshot or Captain Cold's endings wouldn't make any sense, I still prefer them to the Absolute Justice ending.
A good answer to Damian's "what would you do if it was Gotham that blew up and I died?" Could've been "I'd probably act the same, but I'd have Clark the same way he needs me."
The skin is actually kinda nice but the voice is just awful, i kinda wish that they somehow bring back Sub Zero's Deception skin since imo that's his best skin.
I've enjoyed the recent Injustice/ NRS era Mortal Kombat stories and games, and I like listening to The4thsnake's critiques. We disagree on almost Everything, but his critiques come from a place of love for the characters and franchises, so it's interesting to see another well researched and carefully thought out opinion on the situations presented from another side i didn't consider. It won't change my opinion, I like what I like and will continue to do so. But when the videos are as well done as this is, it's good to kick back and be entertained by a critique. Also, 4thsnake doesn't get annoyingly political and preachy, nor does he try to entice pointless drama, mob mentality, callouts, play up fan entitlement or fake outrage (which in this day and age is fucking RARE in a youtube channel) So good on ya. Keep being awesome. And thanks for the vid.
59:11 this is the perfect explanation of the biggest issue I had with Injustice 2. I actually felt like none of the characters received any sort of development and it honestly felt like the writers were playing too safe, I didn’t see any risks being taken with the plot, just wasted/underutilized new characters and old characters that throw away whatever progression they had in their own arcs.
also the fact that we get doctor fate dying after appearing 2 times before his death and having NO point of being in the game is literally the dumbest thing this game did with story and how aquaman commits animal murder by killing grodd
@Trevor White Thats one of the reasons why I dont even consider IJ2 canon. The way that they do a charcter arc in this game only to regress them back into being villains without a ounce of redemption (Superman and Cyborg mostly)
As pointless as the Atrocitus fight in Atlantis seemed, I feel like it was another nod to show how far Hal has come in his redemption. He mentally battled against Atrocitus's rage inducement and chose a path of more stable peace over serving his rage through violence and death. Although it was short, I feel like it better showed and developed Hal's character. Awesome video!!!
Yosuru Shi Power Girl could work well with the story because she’s not a naive child believing that you can talk a tyrant out of being a tyrant; Vixen could be in story mode helping out Batman’s team trying to take down Superman’s team, and if they’re going to reuse Catwoman and Bane from the first game for “The Society” then they should HawkGirl and Killer Frost working along side with Superman’s regime.
19:15 Breh, look at his eyes. For anyone wondering, the reason why his eyes are like that is because the artist drew it all in black and white, and then the person that coloured everything in just assumed that his eyes were meant to be open. Originally, however, his eyes were closed. So, the colouring guy just decided to draw his eyes on. This was updated in a computerised version of the comic, or maybe a physical rerelease, to have his eyes closed.
Wow When every problem in the story is said out loud all in one go, it's made me realize that the story isn't as bad as I thought it was. Its even worse. Lovely, good job Netherrealm
I remember watching your videos when I was younger going like "oH yOuRe JuSt BaD aT tHe GaMe!!!" But as time goes on and I'm being more open minded. I realize just how significant a critical review like yours and many others are to a game or a series. Sometimes the most critical may just be the biggest of fans or the critiques are just absurd but that's not here. You clearly know what you're talking about and you make your points known. I do like MK11 and still do play it but not as much due to recent news and Injustice 2 is just a weird grind game. Hate how games seem to be more and more like a unfinished product then patch it later type of game. I am trying to become a writer and I wish there was updates to story modes in games where they do the DLC option in there like Sub-Zero in Injustice 2 and how he would react to Supermans Regime. Hellboy and how he would deal with having to be in this new world and heck even the TMNT and how you can switch with either turtle for a fight. I'm sure I wont get noticed and I'm sure this is a weird comment but just wanted to get my word out there for anyone that stumbles upon it.
To be honest. I wish I could write more but as a student trying to go through life and such. It is hard to really relax at points. Again wish I could say more since videos like this can open some eyes but I'll just leave it here.
I think some NRS fanboys are weird because they say “NRS is so cool because they have stories in fighting games” then when someone critiques the story they somehow get mad like having a story means nobody can suggest things to improve it.
40:01 The fear toxin makes people see their worst fears but Scarecrow doesn't control what they see and probably just makes his best guess about what they're seeing based on what he knows about them.
9:25 this is literally how I feel about MK11 Kombat Pack being 50% guest characters like we get Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Sindel but the other 3 are Joker, Terminator, and Spawn. NRS needs to stop bringing in so many guests in their games I get the season pass for MK/DC (depending on the game) characters. the only character I was happy to see in DLC for Injustice 2 was Red Hood
Guest characters are cool and all but I'll like it if most of the dlc characters in whatever game I play are mostly from the same universe or franchise
The two questions that robin has could have really easy answers. 1. "I would probably loose myself if i lost Gotham, but i also know i could count that Clark would be there to help me and make the right choice. Not being clouded by grief and anger. And that's why i'm doing the same to him" 2. "Killing someone is giving them no choice of redemption. You of all people should know how much someone can change given a second chance" (referring to Damien's change views on his grandfather and his ideology)
Actually in the injustice 2 comic they did show sinestro die and some of the teen titans did get free in injustice 2 comic but tim drake robin got killed by general zod which really broke me because we had tim drake robin back but damn that was sad 😢
@Sparten 117 indeed it's injustice but not all of them did die as we saw in the injustice 2 comic some of the teen titans did survive like Conner Kent superboy and Cassie Sandsmark wonder girl did survive and go the future thanks to the legion of superheroes so for all attempts and purposes we may get a chance to see our favorite heroes again alive and kicking in injustice 3 if we go by the batman ending which i would be all for that, as for the superman ending not so much because we already to are sequel for that one with injustice vs he man story which was really good surprisingly.
Except for the voice acting, the design is actually pretty neat. Plus they threw in unmasked regular Sub-Zero along with it, which is great since he has the best unmasked look out of anyone in the game.
Something that always bothered me is how everyone on Batman's side is just friends with Harley and how she's a part of their team. She should be locked up.
@@thrawnedits5860 I never said anything about Harley, her treatment is one of the main reasons why I think of this entire story as a massive tumor of nonsense, but as far as the rest of your comment goes, they HAVE fought, many times. And most times, it's pretty much been a matter of luck/who intiated the fight, what with the whole "prep time" nonsense writers pull with Batman.
@@thrawnedits5860 Yeah, I wasn't defending Harley's actions, nor do I think Dinah would go so far as to actually kill him, just knock him on his ass. And agreed, like I said, it's pretty much up in the air considering how close they are in experience and training.
I find Harley to be more unlikable than anyone else. She helps Joker destroy Metropolis and send Superman down his dark path, keeps hitting on Billy (a minor), and is given a free pass by Batman despite everything she's done.
Imho all the redeemed Harleys that are the go-to arc for the character nowadays feel forced and shitty. Once you take away the intrigue of her dynamic with the Joker she doesn't have a lot to stand on her own with, she just becomes like, a shitty female version of Deadpool lmao
@@pixie8311 Yeah, they really need to expand on her more if they're gonna split her from Joker. Granted I've enjoyed some of the stuff of redeemed Harley but I get your point.
I really wish they brought legacy skins to Mortal Kombat. It really could work with the Sub Zeros, Kai/Liu Kang, Daegon/Taven, and any other characters with similar movesets (maybe even Hydro/Rain)
@Fastest Hedgehog I'm mostly in it cause I love the games since childhood. And if they want the girls' outfits to be not to over the top revealing then make modern updates of the MK 2 outfits.
@@coreymckee4844 And also the no sexy female outfits makes no sense since past Sonya still wears a bra and Sonya has her MK 3 outfit which remains unchanged, the MK 9 outfits makes a cameo, and one of Cassie's skin choices is her MKX Endurance outfit and Sareena is still in the same type of outfit she always wear.
I would point to Batman choosing not to answer loaded questions as a trait of his mental fortitude: he doesn't get bogged down in politics and philosophical debate rooted in preconceived notions rather than pursuit of truth. When it's time to ninja, he ninjas. Much like Captain America doesn't have to tell you why he disagrees with superhero registration. But then, I consider that, this is is his biological son and newest heir to his legacy, and a child. He should be taking these questions seriously and using the opportunities to impart his own zen to his wayward pupil. As It turns out, the perpetually-36yr old, orphan-gazillionaire-vigilante investigator-street ninja-gadgeteer/inventor... is bad at parenting.
I realize it’s been three years but I wholeheartedly agree with you and would like to add: Damian was raised by the League of Assassins. Killing and violence was all he knew from birth to age ten, it’s instinct to him. When Damian first came to Bruce, he and Dick took the time to teach Damian mercy, showing him for the first time in his life that there’s a path other than killing. Bruce should have taken Damian’s questions as a teaching moment, a chance to reinforce for him why killing is wrong.
Not gonna lie, Liam O'Brien did a great job voicing Thawne, would like to see him voice more as Thawne, and Snart shouldve done to her what he did to chillbane
What is this? The4thSnake making non-MK related content? Are you an alternate dimension 4thSnake? Are you from a timeline where NRS MK writing is good?
and then they'll be like "oh 😨 we never meant to make this game corrupted with mtxs 😰 we *first and foremost* value fun in our games 😢 and it was an honest mistake 😭"
29:05 Actually, in the Injustice comics, Batman specifically asks Flash to go back in time and reverse Lois’s death, however he refuses, stating that they all deserve what their war has brought upon the world. Basically, it wouldn’t be right to him, to be able to give everybody the get out of jail free card. Not after everything that happened in the comic. 34:01 Firestorm's mission was to forge the golden kryptonite for Batman, which he used to cut Superman.
The best way to improve Injustice is to not attempt it. Pretty sure you said it in the last critique or in another video, but the characters and/or their roles are all off. Specifically Wonder Woman and Superman... perhaps the blame can be set on Batman for this. Batman is fantasized out of all the heroes as being 'the best and the best', in both presentation and story. The roster of the games seems to be primarily Batman in both games, and the story seems to paint Batman as the one that doesn't fall from grace, whilst almost every single hero that isn't batman does. The only ones that stay with batman are ones that have ties greatly associated with batman over others, like Green Arrow, Huntress, Batgirl, Batwoman, etc (with the exception of Daimeon). And yes, Green Arrow has ties with Batman, Green Arrow was literally birthed as 'second batman, in case the original didn't work anymore'... and almost all of them die or disappear. Maybe Injustice was trying to mirror the Justice League cartoon where Savage took over earth VIA changing history of WW2, thus remove all of the heroes except batman, who grew up with the same title of batman (somehow) in this alternate universe and was fighting this 'regime' as a rogue element in that world... I don't know, maybe that might be the case, feels weirdly similar. Wonder Woman is a cunt. Let's be honest, Wonder Woman is not Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman is Flashpoint Wonderwoman, perhaps even worse than Flashpoint's version. Wonder Woman is seen either constantly encouraging Clark to become a tyrant, ignoring reality as she rides his metaphorical dick, is the second-hand woman that Clark bounced onto after Lois died due to Wonder Woman LITERALLY taking advantage of Lois's death, is an absolute warmonger, and there is nothing when it comes to compassion and justice that Wonder Woman is generally portrayed as in previous iterations. Perhaps it is trying to reflect the Wonder Womans that have been sprouting up since Young Justice as her character has been replaced by different versions of 'Cunt Woman', but out of all her iterations within the different movies, shows, and games (perhaps comics too, I don't read 'em much), THIS Cunt Woman is the worst one of them all. Superman is the worst. Superman, the man of steel, striving to do the right thing even when his powers are drained due to kryptonite or whatever shenanigans. Superman, the one that is the symbol of justice and doing the right thing. Superman, the one that, unlike Batman, does not go towards 'crude' tactics when it comes to being a superhero. Superman does the right thing, because superman not only has the power to do so, but the WILL to. This isn't superman. This is Weakman. You also did a video about this, but I noticed it for awhile. Batman gets a lot of unearned handjobs, to the point where some of his supervillains are getting a couple on the side. Especially Joker. Joker, the all-clever and extremely intelligent crime boss that is capable of breaking everyone, with everyone pointing towards his past work, including the Killing Joke. Which is wrong: Joker, despite doing everything in his power to, did not break Commissioner Gordon. Whether it was crippling her daughter, 'maybe' raping her, dressing him down towards nothing and showcasing the brutality brought towards her did not change his character at all after the event. He had the WILL to go past it and stayed by the book. Superman did not. Out of all the three character that, if we ignored what they stood for, would have been the one to have FINALLY snapped to Joker, it SHOULD have been Batman. Not Superman. Batman has a greater amount of crap taken from Joker, including Barbara and Jason, and is the one to cause the most amount of pain and tragedy out of all of them. Out of the three, and hell in comparison to most heroes of the roster, Batman has often been portrayed as the 'dirtier' of the heroes, sometimes breaking people. Yes he does have a moral code (like not hurting children) and has a strong will, but he is known for interrogation, using fear as a weapon, fighting in the dark, and being generally crude in comparison to the other heroes, specifically wonder woman and superman. And since Batman has had the most loses and involvement with Joker, Joker should have instead broke batman. Also, can we stop with evil superman? I don't really care for superman, I myself prefer batman over superman (generally), as superman is quite plain in most cases and batman generally has other heroes (Red Hood, Red Robin) that are related to him in some form or another, or the villain gallery (which maybe only matched perhaps by the Flash, oddly enough), Batman has a lot more options and is allowed to go to places that the other heroes would have a hard time going towards (since Superman is suppose to be a boyscout)... but even I know that the evil supermans, from the movies to this game to some of the comics, is not superman. At this point, I would rather have Savage be the Regime leader of this 'Injustice' and just be an expansion of that concept... or, you know, just don't do it. I would be fine with it if the universe was the "Justice League: Gods and Monsters" case, as that would be less retarded... since all the heroes that are named superman, batman, and wonderwoman are intentionally designed to be NOT those characters, both in origins, their functionality, their personality and everything down in all but the name itself, because superman is NOT Clark Kent... Batman is NOT Bruce Wayne... Wonder Woman is NOT Diana. Completely new characters with the same 'name'. It would at least be more interesting than what we got. (Also Gods and Monsters was okay, but the "Gods and Monsters: Bomb" mini-movie on youtube is a must-watch). Here with Injustice it just feels incredibly lazy.
Batman is only great when he is vulnerable, Jason Todd`s death, the Killing Joke, his conflict with Ras and Talia, his falling off with Dick and so on. Batman should have been the one to have fallen but instead of being a psychopath, his regime should include many of his villains, that had gotten a second chance by serving him while he made an example of others and it should have shown an opressive world but where peace rules.
I think Evil Superman gets used so much because Evil Batman subjugating the entire *planet* would require an eye-rolling amount of wanking to make happen. Even by DC standards.
1st: A small gripe. Batman took Firestorm away to create the gold kryptonite knife. In his own words: "Courtesy of Firestorm." 2nd: Seriously what they need to do is establish a pecking order and work around it. A loses to B, but beats C because A is C's natural counter. 3rd: A missed opportunity to bring up how great the arena modifiers would be for story mode. The tag team alone would have been great. Like with most of the 'pick a character' fights.
Kingofvelika did a video on the injustice2 story mode. He explains the flaws within the story of injustice like how the robots attacking krypton didn’t grapple supergirl or flash being tag by a bullet from dead shot so just a heads up but I would like to hear your take on.
Well seeing how deadshot is a fucking master assassian and highly lethal with guns I can see him calculating how he could shoot flash. Idk much about the character but from what ive seen im sure he could do it.
The surprise criminal in the cage is Two-Face by the way. He’s just sitting there watching Dawn of Justice for free while the rest of us had to pay for it.
29:06 answer: Flashpoint. Changing the past can change the future dramatically to a point where it can end up worse than it was. Flashpoint was an example of that and now Barry refuses to mess with time at all
If that’s the case, why is he fucking with time with his Ult? For all we know, he just created a reality where Earth is defeated by Reptilian overlords because he decided to smash the person into a T-Rex. Can’t be that scared if he will casually do that.
@@Predator20357 Wouldn't that be like saying Superman's ult should kill people Harley Quinn because he punches them hard enough to go hurdling through the air, hits them a few more times, palms their face to catch them and bodies them back to the ground? I feel you can say it's a mix of game logic and the logistics of the attacks themselves being mostly non-canon. I mean, imagine shooting Superman with bullets as Deadshot or stabbing him with a typical combat knife... it wouldn't work, but it does for the sake of gameplay to display what a character can do with their powers in a unique fashion.
@@zombied3stroy3r9gaming4 The first game did it well enough by him flying across the entire world. I wouldn’t have a problem if it was just Flash running across the entire world (I’m pretty sure Dinosaurs are even still alive in DC Universe), before a brief and very small time skip at the end for the gag but don’t tell me he’s scared of something before doing it. Since I don’t want this to go long, to keep it short, the Flash is traveling far back in time despite apparently being scared of, Harley Quinn most likely has those Crypto Pills still, SuperMan can adjust throwing his punches, and there’s other ways to show his speed.
Changing a single event can have drastic consequences, but his ultimate has explanations as to why it doesn't cause a paradox. We know the dinosaurs die to the asteroid, it's a fixed point in time unless someone changes the asteroid's course, so him slamming the foe into the dinosaur doesn't change much. We also know the nose of the sphinx falls off after its construction, so that's fairly safe too. And then the loop closes when he returns to the present.
23:45 The plan to take Grodd out is totally logical from a zoological standpoint. The other gorillas will be far less inclined to fight back against the force that takes out their alpha. Based on their behaviour, the gorillas of Gorilla City follow the basic biology of a regular gorilla. They would totally come apart at the seams if their alpha was dethroned.
Plus, Grodd is the brains of the operation, he's a hyper intelligent telepathic gorilla, and he's maintained his position at the top through strength and fear
I know that this video has been out for a while so you probably won’t see this comment, but great video and critiques! This was my first NRealm game so I have some nostalgia for back in my college days in 2017 playing this game. Even without the rose-tinted glasses, the first time I played it, I thought some of the plot was strange: certain plot points amounting to nothing, subplots that could’ve been fleshed out, retcons, and out-of-character moments. I never read the pre-game comic, so maybe that’s my own negligence, but I feel like the game should’ve explained way more for players who didn’t read it. Despite this, some of the concepts and designs in this game are my favorite from DC. Example: Scarecrow’s design and him getting his “powers” from the fear gas is an awesome idea.
You are 100% right about how much of a bitch Wonder Woman is, they could’ve redeemed her character with that scarecrow section where she realizes how far she and Clark have gone and change sides
Batman: rationalizes traumatic brain injuries Also Batman: yells at Jason Todd for breaking someone's collarbone Inconsistent, even more so when you realize that Jason Todd does exist as the Red Hood in this universe, meaning all those events did happen, that exchange included
It's not real inconsistent because that's how Batman's character really is, a hypocrite and he's been called out on his bs multiple times in the comics. The game was actually being accurate to his character
Kaleb Barber if I’m not mistaken he was angry because the victim of collarbone breaking was someone they needed to interrogate and Jason had now put him into shock, making him unresponsive. It was less about the injury and more that Jason’s unrestrained aggression was impeding the mission
You know, instead of Brainiac, they could have had The Crime Syndicate be the threat that the two factions team up against. Maybe have a proper redemption arc for Regime Superman after seeing Ultraman and realizing just how similar he's become to him. Would have been a better reason for Grid to be in the campaign at least, maybe have the other Justice League members have Crime Syndicate Premiere skins?
Or maybe have there be a league and a syndicate ending, where Ultraman finds inspiration in regime superman's ideas and becomes a tyrannical ruler of earth
@Captain Shades I just hope that they calm down with the 3rd party characters after the fighter pass, unless it's 3rd party characters in 1st party series like Geno, or 3rd party series that have a relationship with Nintendo like ninja gaiden and Digimon.
@@AwesomeMooseSmile Looking back at this comment Long after it was posted Is funny because Season 2's third parties we're possibly More expensive than Season 1's especially with Disney and Minecraft on board.
Honestly, I think you might be right about NRS scripts only getting through the first draft. That would explain why there’s some good writing here that either doesn’t go anywhere or isn’t present in other parts of the story
Superman's cry of despair about Metropolis is so fucking hollow. It's more like he's going, "NOOOO! Not Metropolis! The only one allowed to destroy my city is ME!"
The one thing i wish more on this story was the bring light on Harley part when she helped the Joker in the comics in destroying Metroplis and they never do. She just did some evil got forgiven and be good.
@@cactusmalone I wonder if it's because Harley was rehabilitated by Green Arrow and then fought the Regime with the Joker gang. Can't scrounge up any other justification.
Wonder woman in these games pisses me off bc she's so insanely awful in them and it being her same actress from the old justice league cartoon saying all these gross things makes it hurt so much more
I honestly think that Supergirl is the Gohan from Injustice 2, a promissing character, turned into a total dissapointment, all because they don't want her to outshine the overlords Batman and Superman, right?
I think NRS need to get a few fans or summit to help with the story just to get the details right, bring in the comic writers too and say what characters they want in the game and then find out what they can do with them next - the little details are what's lacking but there's a lot of them
I definitely believe Batman's ending is the true ending. -Batman get's treated like Jesus in the story mode only losing against himself in Injustice 1 and only potentially losing against Superman in Superman's ending -Superman get's beaten twice and only get's 2 chapters, one that get's shared with Batman and the other being a potential cannon ending -Batman got 2 chapters and an extra fight in Injustice 1 and 3 in Injustice 2 -In his chapter he get's a dramatic suit up scene and his ending actually feels logical with the build up of the story unlike Superman's -In Superman's ending after you beat Green Lantern it cuts back to Batman's ending right after he beats Aquaman, this feels like a catch up scene so you know where the other ending is at at the same time, there's no cutscene like this in Batman's ending showing where Superman is at that same moment which makes it feel like you're supposed to play Batman's ending first which indicates it to be the true ending To be honest I didn't know about the He-Man crossover comics that use Superman's ending but I don't think they're completely cannon (the fact also kind of being that it's a crossover with a completely different IP, and yes they did this with MK but that game get's neat little references and is not completely treated as cannon in the timeline, the only exception being that it count as the eight game for MK) but even still it does not seem logical because of the reasons given above. I think in Injustice 3 Superman will definitely return and that a different villain will become the threat, potentially the good universe characters getting back into the mix.
Corrections and Clarifications:

It would've been an interesting twist, but ah well
Agreed, who is dumb enough to let Batman's side chick in on their plans?
Because making it Selina is so easy and NRS doesn't like to think outside the box
Seriously though, Deadshot as the mole would’ve been a fantastic twist.
Also Deadshot has a daughter which actually would making him the mole make sense

Fwuffycodbunny Actually, I think it's the other way around buddy.
Sometimes real life crap enforces people to make due with less.
what does voice actor strike mean?
@@ginogatash4030 The voice actors went on strike for better pay and treatment when working. Basically, they all stopped taking work from various studios and offers to get these rights.
Idk all the details, but they have been forced to remain the recording booth for extremely long periods of times, and it can lead to overworked situations.
Like recording vomiting recordings over and over, until the actor actually feels like vomiting. Stuff like that.
@@yashbhuiya7156 did they win?
@@ginogatash4030 No idea. But I will say the one who spearheaded the strike (Jennifer Hale) is someone I haven't seen in any anything recent as of late, versus all the characters she voiced before the strike.
Id like to think they succeeded in getting better conditions for other voice actors, but at the cost of those who supported the strike struggling to find work nowadays because they caused it in the first place.
Yash Bhuiya Jennifer Hale was in MK11 as Kronika
But,
One thing that bothers me. Several. Years ago. Robin did this that. And all of a sudden he's nightwing. Nothing explained. All I know is that Grayson is dead, but. The game never really.. explains anything.
Also, if I'm saying some wrong things here and there, I'm very sorry, but.
Do you think darkseid would of been a better choice than **BIG BRAIN**
But I'm very sorry if i'm wrong.
I hate Superman being a bad guy anyways
"NO! The only one allowed to kill them is ME!"
@@dragonstormx But we can't ever paint Batman as wrong, so he's allowed to be a hypocrite.

I do like MK11 and still do play it but not as much due to recent news and Injustice 2 is just a weird grind game. Hate how games seem to be more and more like a unfinished product then patch it later type of game.

Something that always bothered me is how everyone on Batman's side is just friends with Harley and how she's a part of their team. She should be locked up.
Dinah would've kicked Bruce's ass.
Yeah that sort of creeped me out. Billy is at least 12 and at most 17 while she is 25 to 35.
Imho all the redeemed Harleys that are the go-to arc for the character nowadays feel forced and shitty. Once you take away the intrigue of her dynamic with the Joker she doesn't have a lot to stand on her own with, she just becomes like, a shitty female version of Deadpool lmao

If Batman cut Superman with gold kryptonite, he shouldn't have his powers anymore. Damn game.

That and also Flash doesn't have the best track record when it comes to time travel.

Would you like to write more Articles?
In his own words: "Courtesy of Firestorm."
2nd: Seriously what they need to do is establish a pecking order and work around it.
You can assume that Zazz survived if you take in consideration the massive horizontal scar in his neck when he kills Alfred.

The plan to take Grodd out is totally logical from a zoological standpoint.
They should add more underrated characters to this series. Like they could add sandman, obsidian, Azrael, Jonah Hex etc... Wouldn't it be awesome?

I think NRS need to get a few fans or summit to help with the story just to get the details right, bring in the comic writers too and say what characters they want in the game and then find out what they can do with them next - the little details are what's lacking but there's a lot of them
I wish we got a red arrow premiere skin
I definitely believe Batman's ending is the true ending.
-Batman get's treated like Jesus in the story mode only losing against himself in Injustice 1 and only potentially losing against Superman in Superman's ending
-Superman get's beaten twice and only get's 2 chapters, one that get's shared with Batman and the other being a potential cannon ending
-Batman got 2 chapters and an extra fight in Injustice 1 and 3 in Injustice 2
-In his chapter he get's a dramatic suit up scene and his ending actually feels logical with the build up of the story unlike Superman's
-In Superman's ending after you beat Green Lantern it cuts back to Batman's ending right after he beats Aquaman, this feels like a catch up scene so you know where the other ending is at at the same time, there's no cutscene like this in Batman's ending showing where Superman is at that same moment which makes it feel like you're supposed to play Batman's ending first which indicates it to be the true ending
To be honest I didn't know about the He-Man crossover comics that use Superman's ending but I don't think they're completely cannon (the fact also kind of being that it's a crossover with a completely different IP, and yes they did this with MK but that game get's neat little references and is not completely treated as cannon in the timeline, the only exception being that it count as the eight game for MK) but even still it does not seem logical because of the reasons given above. I think in Injustice 3 Superman will definitely return and that a different villain will become the threat, potentially the good universe characters getting back into the mix.
My money's on Brother Eye being the main villain in the next one.
