We've reported that a new version of the DualSense EDGE has different structures inside of the controller, and this magnetic module kit is NOT compatible with the newer version. The clicky triggers kit is more complicate than the back buttons, we will make the shortest triggers clicky, the other 2 trips still work!

Finally a solution to this issue. My controller was under warranty so got it fixed by Sony but if it happens again now I can get this 👍

Had my back left one go a 6 months ago, so when I saw this kit come out I was thinking finally someone's done this. I'd bought a new dual sense edge so still had the broken one in my drawer, got the kit, and replaced the left side. After that I thought maybe I'll do the right side now since it's all open, and once I took that side apart and looked at the piece it was just hanging together by a thread. Now that both sides are replaced everything works fine. Not expecting this to last forever (until someone makes a full metal replacement part), but the repair is simple and for $20 Canadian, to do both sides it's cheap IMO. Sure the cost of the controller is high, but if this is the only flaw, and I can replace the sticks easily then it is what it is. I know ppl that spend the same on a Scuff and once that POS breaks you're not going to be able to fix it at all, and good luck getting it fixed under warranty. Overall great product, fixes the issue and there's not much to do except remove a few screws, pop it open and swap the new piece in.
Screw driver worked for 7/9 screws. Not sure how I want to go about getting the last 2 screws out.
Yep I have a stripped one that won’t come out. This is so stupid.
@@alexhartford8086 Which one is yours? my last one is the bottom center. Can't even get it off with pliers. Ripped the back plate off to try to get to it that way and no luck.
I have the model with the top 3 additional screws. It’s one of those 3 near LB. Luckily I work in an auto shop so I’m gonna see what I can do at work tomorrow. In the meantime I crammed thick cardboard paper between the button housing and side and it’s holding strong.

I have two screws either side of the paddles that are stripped. Tried WD40 and nothing will budge. Outta ideas
I just gently ripped off the whole piece left the screws in ordered the piece I ripped off from this same company different color made it look cooler lol the took a small screw driver in the holes where the stripped screw was widened the hole and placed it on put screws in the other ones that came out and it was like I never had a problem
Your new back button kit is an absolute godsend. Had the same issue with that small metallic part that keeps breaking. Do you know if the new version of the DS Edge has improved the durability of that black metallic part in which you insert the paddles? I think I have to get a new DS controller as the module for the back left button has worn out and doesn’t work anymore. I played too long with the dodgy broken back paddle.
We tried to improve the material of the metallic part, so hopefully will last longer than the original one. We found they try to solve this problem on the new version as they use 2 plastic pieces to substitute the 2 tiny metal rods, not sure if it works but we inspected 3 new DS edges, and all of them are missing at least 5 screws inside of the controller, and the metal bar between the LB & RB also missed. We were stunned lol
Absolutely not....bought my first 1 not even a month ago. right back button is shot out....bought another 2 days ago....same button is already gone....most expensive CHEAP POS. I swear!

APPARENTLY Sony updated the internal components of the Duelsense Edge, so this repair kit wont with everyones. Best to open your controller first to see if this repair kit is even viable fit 😢
just got my dual sense edge and the right paddle already stuck
My controller broke earlier this week. The actual button on the green grid is broken. It doesn’t press down like the other side. The dot in the middle wasn’t in place. I think the medal piece it sits on went flat. It gives the clicking sensation if it’s still flexible. Where do I find the new green grid piece this sits on?

Preferably one with hall effect joysticks, as that you won't need to keep paying Sony for crappy ones that get drift very easily.

Oh, two things. I think on FB a while ago I asked if you will ever have paddles like you do for the Xbox controller for the DS5 and I think someone replied that you're working on it. Is that still happening? Will you also be doing a mod for the DS5 Edge trigger stops so there's even less pressure input? Just a thought. Not an issue for me personally but I know the Edge got rated lower on YT reviews because the trigger stop settings weren't as short as other pro controllers. I believe you are the guys that could fix that. Lol!
Idk about these stuff but I messaged them on fb about Hall effect units for the dual sense edge and they said they won’t make it. I also asked if they are making a 4 button replacement instead of 2 button for the pro controller and they said they are working on it but it’s gonna take a while
Yes we are working on the buttons style back paddles kit for the dualsense controller, just not going smooth because we have to make them good to press and easy for installation, so it will take a while. And we are working on another paddles style solution. For the trigger stop clicky kit, we are working on it, please stay tuned.
We recently made a big break through on our Hall Effect thumbsticks kit, so anything is possible on the DualSense Edge.

The problem with mine isn’t regarding input, but just that the paddle sticks when pressed and it’s extremely inconvenient. Does anyone have a fix for this i’ve tried cleaning and compressed air etc or do i just have time to replace it
Mine felt the same way, it's a little plastic piece that's broke. Once you press the paddle it doesn't reset so you can press it again. I got this kit and fixed my back left side, and also did the right side since I had it all open. Everything works fine now.
update: everything installed. one f the paddles works but feels a little loose. any recommendations?

Sheeeet I guess my dualsense edge must be a newer revision? My controller has a slightly different internal layout and my back button modules are a totally different shape. Also my controller doesn't even have that metal bracket bar... Unfortunate...

We've got the newer version of the DS EDGE! And we found our replacement module fit on the newer model! We are going to make a new video to show how. BTW, we got 3 new version Edge, and all of them are lack of screws and the metal bar, if that's how Sony cost down, it will be a shame.
Btw I appreciate you guys reaching out, I've had nothing but positive things to say about extremerates. I'm in no rush, my back buttons currently work fine, I just enjoy taking stuff apart.

Is this a permanent fix? Cuz mine has broke 3x now and I keep having to send it back to Sony
probably not until someone makes that piece in all metal. Depending on how hard you are on it might get a year out of it. I know some guys who have had their edge for over a year with no problems, mine lasted 9 months. I got the kit and just fixed everything myself, took 20 min and then I don't have to wait to get it back from Sony, so for $20 Canadian it's cheap and it fixes the issue.
Tbh I don’t know where my kit is, and this is pissing me off, my paddle is jammed and not sure what to do without my kit

Hey, do you have any recommendations on gamepads for fps games? Explicitly for CoD Warzone, it has to have back paddles but at the same time, not cost 200$

Hello! I bought this kit to try to fix my controller but I found out that there is a biggr problem. As this broke within 6 months of use and there were no replacements back then. I kept using. It broke the bubble like button inside. It seems that this is what pushes the back button back once you press on it. I can still use it but the back button is very sensitive. It appears that this part inside the controller can be removed easily but I couldn't find any replacements and your kit does not come with this replacement. Are you guys working on a replacement any time soon? If you an provide an email address so I can send a picture please. That will be great. Thanks!

It's not the magnet, this the little plastic piece that's broke, mine felt the same way. I just got this kit and fixed my back left side, and also did the right side since I had it all open.

It will be adjustable, only the shortest trip is clicky. And we are still looking for a good way to put the clicky bumper.

Without you guys, there would be absolutely no reason to buy these crappy PS controllers.
I bet you guys could easily build a better pro controller than Sony has.
It's a major design flaw, but the only issue I've ever had with this controller. Its easy to do the repair, and IMO cheap for the kit. The good news is you can replace the sticks once you get stick drift, and if you had a scuff, or something else, once it breaks or gets drift it's garbage, so at least with this you can get good milage out of the controller. It's like buying a nice car and having to repair the brakes.
PS5 Edge is a big fail - overpriced controller.
The price is quite fair (except the thumbstick) but 2 paddles are the fail
@@ExtremeRate Bad battery, only 2 back paddles, problems with back buttons (paddles), stick drift, back rubber grip problems, overpriced = FAIL 🙂
Now we have more reason: On the newer version of the DS EDGE, they saved at least 5 screws and 1 metal bar inside of the controller, that's rediculous.
