I recommend a nylon brush or toothbrush instead of the brass bore brush. You can clean the frame and slide with the nylon brush and scrub the barrel to. Great video but I’m just saying what I use.

After cleaning magazine with Hoppes and nylon brush, I dry it with cloth and lightly use dry lube so it doesn't attract dirt. My slide rails and mag release bar like very light lube.

Good start but think you could’ve gone further into a much more detailed strip of both the slide and the fire control. Eventually these deeper areas will get really grimy, especially suppressed. Maybe a future video?
I’ve got this and the sig 322 and get a lot of fun out of them. Cans throw a lot of crud back into the action and I’ve no hesitancy in taking the uppers fully apart or removing the FCG from them either. (Not planning to open up the fcg!). They get solvent soaks and then into the ultra with some simple green. Mags do well in there, too. What I’ve not seen are many posted details on how to do this and I think the prospect is a little more daunting for most when it comes to knocking pins out and possibility of tiny springs and pins. It definitely gets to the point where reliability will be affected and at that point it is certainly up to the user to do something about it. You may be the needed guide. Cheers!

I've had my tx22 since it first came out and never had a problem with it my be 2000 rounds by now and at least half the time it is suppressed I do clean my guns after every range trip she eats any kind of ammo I put through it.
I agree TAURUS made in my eyes the best 22lr semi auto for the price hands down! Is there more expensive semi auto that are pretty awesome? Yes, but not at this price range that you can buy this gun! It won’t with little pressure, but if you push very aggressive/Hard then yes you could potentially scratch. The odds of that happening are very low with the polymer they make guns/gun parts with. It’s very hard and you would have to really try hard too make scratches. A nylon brush is definitely more gentle and if you are nervous at all just use what you are comfortable with. Yes it will, I would never do that to any polymer gun, but if you must use a metal bristle brush cover it with cotton patches, never bare bristles. Use only soft brass or bronze brushes on the steel parts of your gun, the one used in this video was meant for barrels only, and in one direction only from chamber to muzzle. I only use nylon brushes to clean my gun's except for the barrel interior. Magazines, if polymer only get nylon brushes. Also, if stuff gets "caked" on you gun interior you aren't cleaning it enough, or are waiting to long after shooting it to clean it. This is a great pistol by the way! Proper maintenance insure a long lasting, problem free firearm.

Maybe these brushes are different or more worn in so they can’t damage the hard polymer? These brushes in this kit don’t hurt the hand if you pinch your fingers on the bristles or if you scrubbed the bristles on your skin. The brushes I use for work or automotive maintenance would definitely ruin a gun if someone used them, so don’t use those types of brushes they are way to aggressive! To conclude this debate we are all right! Nylon brushes are less aggressive and will never damage a gun even if they are used aggressively to clean! Using the wrong type of brushes on your gun will definitely leave scratch marks or groves, so don’t do that. In my experience with what I own for gun cleaning kits that the supplied brushes are very soft and not aggressive! With that being said if you can’t grab your bristle brush with out it hurting your skin then it’s too aggressive to use on your gun! Just get a ultrasonic cleaner or use q tips you don't want ANYTHING harder than polymer to clean, alls you are doing is scratching and creating more friction inside the mags, seriously don't take his advice it's absurd.

Friend, I have the cybergun taurus, just like that two-tone one, I bought it new and the slide gets stuck and to put it where it goes, it's hard. What do I do? It'll be the hopup. I only have glocks. It's my first taurus. I won't buy again if it's not a glock.
I would disable the gun and inspect all gun parts to make sure not broken? Next because 22lr is a very dirty round I would deep clean the whole gun! Make sure you really get into the slide groves on the gun, because that’s probably where the problem is!?! They are probably gunked up from all the 22lr back blow! It's crazy to me that people will purposefully choose not to maintain a gun and then complain that it fails. I take new mags apart to clean them and inspect for burrs or dents before I ever use them. Should be common sense but that's a rarity these days.

Very interesting video. I've got a TX22 and haven't put enough rounds through yet to clean it but when I do I'll follow your tips, thank you. One thing though. You say "um" way,way too many times. Try and read from a script (or something) because saying um as many times as you do is a turn off trying to follow the tips. Not trying to offend you just FYI. Thank you for the informative video.

That’s odd, but I would try racking the slide couple times and then when trying to pull down wiggle the slide and pull it back slightly to release some pressure off the bar that holds everything together. I hope that helps you? I hope you stay in contact and thank you for watching!
@@pewpewswithmr.x the only way I’m able to get the slide off is by using a flathead screwdriver and a rubber mallet and then I still have to tap the back of the slide with the rubber mallet to get it off. But the take down lever will not budge if I don’t use a flathead screwdriver. Thanks for the suggestions btw. I’m fixing to go shoot it and see if that fixes it.
@@pewpewswithmr.x ok. I put 200 rounds through it and it shot good! But the issue is still there, now it seems to have gotten better, like it just needed to be shot but the tolerance is just so tight on this FDE model I got.
That’s crazy how tight it is! Keep shooting it and hopefully it gets better. If you do get it off you may want to polish the contact points and then put gun grease on. That should help a lot and keep me posted
Are you pulling the trigger (on an empty chamber of course) to release the pressure prior to attempting disassembly (like the instructions that came with the gun says to do)? Also, I've found that pulling the slide rearward about 1/8th inch as you pull down on the levers helps. The recoil spring that pushes the slide back into battery is also putting pressure on the stud mounted in the frame that prevents the slide from flying off after each shot. The disassembly lever pulls that stud down flush with the frame allowing the slide to be removed. Hope this helps.
I'm having a problem with my safety I took it apart to clean it but after I put it back together now the safety doesn't wanna go into safety position Unless I pull the slide back and then it'll go in safely but Only Once 😫 Can anyone give me some advice please 🙏🏾.
Once you have a dead trigger the safety won’t work, but when you rack slide back resetting the trigger then it will work again! I’m guessing that’s your problem and if that is what your doing then the gun is perfectly fine don’t worry! Otherwise if you took the safety apart then you may have a different problem and may want to bring it to a gun smith. I fixed mine like this. You see those little slots in the magazine right before the rounds feed to the top? Well the rounds are staggered and with a rim fire the rim goes in that slot. There are no ramp slopes at the top edge of that slot which there needs to be. Take a real small dremel steel carbide bit and taper that top inside edge at the very end of the slot. There is a slot on each side so do them both. Match that slope to the angle of the inside of the feed. I didnt put power to the dremel and just spun it by hand to cut the plastic. I then took a .177 bore brush and took the plastic that shredded a little bit out of there. I then took a magazine cleaning brush and cleaned the whole inside. Lightly oiled and reassembled. I just went to the range today and ran 500 rounds of all kinds of 22LR. Not one fail to feed. Hollow points, round nose, 36gr, 40gr, slow, fast, I ran it all with absolutely no problems. To compare, previously 250 rounds and between 15 and 20 fail to feeds. I hated the gun. Today was a pleasure to shoot.
@@mlone7 Very interesting observation on the mags. Glad yours is running now. Shortly after making my comment three months ago, I had shot around 800 rounds. As if by magic, my TX started to run perfectly. I have shot it in competitions almost every weekend, sometimes three events in a row, for months now, with just a handful of failures! I have only deep cleaned it once. I run Federal blue box 36g and have only experienced maybe two or three duds since using it. The TX went from a gun I hated to a gun I love and recommend. I wish it hadn't taken so long!
The Federal blue box was one of the bunch of bullets I ran today also. To really test it I ran Remington 36 grain gold thunderbolt which we all know is junk. Aguila, CCI, Winchester, Wolf were some more I ran. I literally tried to make this thing fail. I also used 10 different modified magazines.@@baxrok2.
@@baxrok2.I used Federal blue box, Rem gold thunderbolt, Wolf, CCI, Winchester, Aguila, and mixture of scrap 22's that I never looked to see the brand. I tried to get it to mess up. Not one single FTF and every round went bang. I have never had so much fun with a 22 pistol as yesterday. My model is the TX22 Competition SCR and I installed a Holosun 507C GR. That setup is so accurate its sickening. I shot as much as 50yds with that pistol with ease. I really like the Taurus design on that gun. The feeding problem was a pain though and took away from just how good that gun design is. It ran the Thunderbolts without a hitch so enough said.

I just purchased a TX22 05-11-2024 and I CAN NOT move the bar in front of the trigger AT ALL for disassembly. Anyone else have this issue?

my tx22 scr is great but the plastic magazines really suck

I fixed mine like this. You see those little slots in the magazine right before the rounds feed to the top? Well the rounds are staggered and with a rim fire the rim goes in that slot. There are no ramp slopes at the top edge of that slot which there needs to be. Take a real small dremel steel carbide bit and taper that top inside edge at the very end of the slot. There is a slot on each side so do them both. Match that slope to the angle of the inside of the feed. I didnt put power to the dremel and just spun it by hand to cut the plastic. I then took a .177 bore brush and took the plastic that shredded a little bit out of there. I then took a magazine cleaning brush and cleaned the whole inside. Lightly oiled and reassembled. I just went to the range today and ran 500 rounds of all kinds of 22LR. Not one fail to feed. Hollow points, round nose, 36gr, 40gr, slow, fast, I ran it all with absolutely no problems. To compare, previously 250 rounds and between 15 and 20 fail to feeds. I hated the gun. Today was a pleasure to shoot.

Shortly after making my comment three months ago, I had shot around 800 rounds. As if by magic, my TX started to run perfectly. I have shot it in competitions almost every weekend, sometimes three events in a row, for months now, with just a handful of failures!
I have only deep cleaned it once. I run Federal blue box 36g and have only experienced maybe two or three duds since using it. The TX went from a gun I hated to a gun I love and recommend. I wish it hadn't taken so long!
The Federal blue box was one of the bunch of bullets I ran today also. To really test it I ran Remington 36 grain gold thunderbolt which we all know is junk. Aguila, CCI, Winchester, Wolf were some more I ran. I literally tried to make this thing fail. I also used 10 different modified magazines.@@baxrok2.
@@baxrok2.I used Federal blue box, Rem gold thunderbolt, Wolf, CCI, Winchester, Aguila, and mixture of scrap 22's that I never looked to see the brand. I tried to get it to mess up. Not one single FTF and every round went bang. I have never had so much fun with a 22 pistol as yesterday. My model is the TX22 Competition SCR and I installed a Holosun 507C GR. That setup is so accurate its sickening. I shot as much as 50yds with that pistol with ease. I really like the Taurus design on that gun. The feeding problem was a pain though and took away from just how good that gun design is. It ran the Thunderbolts without a hitch so enough said.
