When at worked at ye olde local gun shop, I saw more of these than any other .22 pistol walk out the door. Probably Taurus's best pistol. Very high value option.
I picked one up recently, disassembled and lubed it, then put about 150 rounds through it (several different brands of ammo) and it ran like a champ. I really like everything about this pistol. Good job Taurus!

Yes, as a fan of Bubbits designs I was hoping we'd get the Taurus (clone?/licensed?) version in the US, but Taurus USA tells me they won't bring it in because it would compete against other current offerings. Sorta like VW no bringing the Scirocco to the US because it would compete with theh GTI.

The TX22 ate almost everything, I did experience some issues with lower velocity ammo but it still did ok with them. I love mine, it embarrassed the Glock & cost much less.

Hello, thank you for making this video. it was extremely beginner friendly which is why I enjoyed watching it way more than other reviewers. I am a first time buyer and after much research I think I would like to go with the tx22 compact as my first firearm. As far as shooting, I heard that 22lr pistols can suffer for leading/fouling, I am not entirely sure if that is a big problem that I should consider when purchasing this firearm. What are your thoughts on leading and fouling? Thanks again. Really enjoyed the video.
Snap caps are always a good idea for dryfiring rimfire guns like a .22lr. "leading" is the result of shooting a lot of exposed-lead round, the lead scrapes off in the barrel. To avoid issues with that you can either clena your gun religously or stick to jacketed bullets. @@dennisdeppner4131 do those shooters use the loading tool? Well what happens when the front of the gun doesn't go back into place? I just bought it and took it down to oil it and I rack it and the barrel and front of the slide is totally out of position
I'm okay with the thumb safety on the TX22's. It's nothing but a range/plinking gun for me so there's never any rush to get it into action. Definitely not a carry type firearm for me so the safety is no big deal and I just don't care.
Re: Magazine eject. Yeah, it's weak. As I used to tell my students relative to anything that needed to drop to the ground. Point it to the ground and " let gravity be your friend " ..
My gun came with a none centered barrel (sits very low) so any suppressor added cause drag on the slide (wear marks and malfunctions). Sent back to Taurus, they put 26 round through it none suppressed (knowing already that it functioned with no suppressor, and that it only had issues when suppressed). I called after receiving the pistol back and was told that if it functions without a suppressor, they don’t care and will not be fixing anything. I had high hopes that Taurus was starting to turn around from the terrible company they’ve known to be in the past, unfortunately they are still the same company.
I've read the thin aluminum slide develops cracks after a time because of a defect in the spring. Does the Lakeline rod and spring solve the problem, or can the spring can be modified or has Taurus itself remedied the issue? On the basis of numerous reviews and claims that Taurus had "improved their game," one of my early acquisitions was a G3, but I was unimpressed and sold it. I guess I'm a bit leery of Taurus. I think there are better guns for similar or slightly more money.
Ten in compliant States, 13 nominally in other states, but it can hold the tx22 magazines bringing it to 16 or with magazine extenders up to 25, I think, depending on the extender. Other people sell the little ring that will cover the gap at the base, if you use the. standard TX22 magazines.
If you carry a firearm to protect your life then carry a round in the chamber. You won’t have time to chamber a round in 1 second. Your life depends on the choices you make about carrying a pistol for self defense.
She's still around, but now old enough to legally purchase a handgun so she doesn't do much jumping up on the work bench anymore. She does still help with photo shoots. www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/savior-equipment-specialist-bag-as-a-range-bag
The Taurus TX22 magazines suck. The spring inside gets weak after time. The gun itself is reliable. I have a red dot and light on mine. I really like mine.
Shotgun barrels are the only barrels with chrome lining. They cannot chrome line a rifles barrel. It would reduce the ID of the bore and cause issues like bullets getting stuck. Then later the chrome would peal. So no chrome lining on a rifled barreled.
I'm afraid you're terribly misinformed. Rifle barrels have been chrome-lined for decades (eaver heard of the M16?). It is true that chrome lining adds material which then wears down, but as far as internal diameter, the barrels are machined with an allowance for the thickness chrome lining adds.

👌
Did you say how many rounds it can carry
Yes, full specs are in the full review: www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/taurus-tx22-compact
Ten in compliant States, 13 nominally in other states, but it can hold the tx22 magazines bringing it to 16 or with magazine extenders up to 25, I think, depending on the extender. Other people sell the little ring that will cover the gap at the base, if you use the. standard TX22 magazines.
Anybody yet find a holster for the Taurus TX22 COMPACT?
Muddy River Tactical
Taurus makes one
Urban Carry has a nice one that fits.
we the people holsters with red dot cutouts
If you carry a firearm to protect your life then carry a round in the chamber. You won’t have time to chamber a round in 1 second. Your life depends on the choices you make about carrying a pistol for self defense.
The guide rod should not be sticking out the front if assembled correctly.
I ❤️ 👍

What ever happened to TactiKitty?
She's still around, but now old enough to legally purchase a handgun so she doesn't do much jumping up on the work bench anymore. She does still help with photo shoots. www.gbgunsdepot.com/post/savior-equipment-specialist-bag-as-a-range-bag
@@GBGuns There she is! So stinking cute 🥰
@@wadewilson6135 Still full of personality, just less active these days. Her age sometimes catches up with her.

Every AK made abroad is chrome lined. One fifth of all small arms is AK. Let it sink in.
It's literally a basic rifle barrel coating, shotguns are almost never chrome lined. Chroming rifle barrels has been done since the 1950s
I have had SKS rifles, basically the forerunner to AK rifles, and they had chrome lined barrels.
Why wouldn’t I recommend it for self defense 😂 if u get shot in the head with a .22 u will die or either b a vegetable 🥕
You could use it for SD of course, but it's not ideal. Rimfire ammo is just less reliable than center fire, for instance.
@@jshepard152 I seen center fire guns jam and my Tx22 shoots every round I only use cci
