I turned my box trailer into a camper. I built it right! I insulated underneath and enclosed it which made it much more aerodynamic, the walls and ceiling were insulated also. Well the roof was aluminum and drew the heat to it and I Happen to run across this product at Lowes. Come to find out you can have this stuff colored and since I had put a camouflage paint job on it I had the Kool seal tinted to a light tan and I also applied this to the interior of my 12ft long jon boat. It dang sure knocks a couple degrees off the temperature!

Yes. If you use two coats, it would be 10 gallons.
I've used Kool Seal, but we put it on with a mop...lol

Depends whether it’s sun shining or cloudy if it’s gonna rain within 12 hours on a cloudy day I would probably wait it could take up to 12 to 48 hours to dry so it doesn’t wash off in the rain

I'm in SC also, I'm a plumber and just do service work. I'm glad you are doing good work on mobile homes. Lot's of elderly people and poor people live in them, I stayed in one while I was building my cabin. Too many people do half ass work on them, and I can tell you from experience, the plumbing is hell to work on and access. Good video.

Nice work Drew! I noticed they sell white EPDM online but it's quite a bit more expensive than the black stuff, so I'm assuming coating with Kool Seal is probably cheaper which is good to know for future reference.
It’s called Tpo and you need a steam welder in order to put it together EDM. All you need is steam glue.
Always have at least one plumbing vent for sewer gas venting, air admittance valves will let drains receive air but want allow venting of sewer gas, you need a vent to release sewer gas.

Can you just take all them vents off the roof. I know you dont need the gas furnace vent if you switch to electric heat. But what about all those other vents. Can we do away with them? Thank you Drew
Yes, you can do away with them one of the bands was a furnace vent. We got rid of it. It was going down to nothing in a closet. The other vents are for venting the water or the pipes in your bathroom and your kitchen. You can put ventless on them. They sell them.
How are you prepping roof before coating...i heard to clean with tsp first and let dry
I don’t recommend doing a lot of scrubbing on your Mobile Home Roof or walking on it for that matter unless you know where to walk I would say TSP is not necessary. Best cleaner in my opinion would be bleach mixed with water maybe a 50-50 blend about 5 ounces of dish soap shake it up spray it on With a pump sprayer, you can buy at Lowe’s and then just rinse it all off in about 30 minutes or an hour and more on the roof. You might have to scrub a little bit with a push broom. I don’t recommend getting up there and scrubbing your roof with a rag, but maybe a push broom would help remove some of the debris like mildew the roof looking at is Rubber Roof we just installed
drew i have a 23 ft travel trailer would it be better to do a couple coats of cool seal and does it need to be prepped with anything first
You definitely wanna make sure that it is clean no mold or mildew at Lowes they sell a no bleach cleaner. Sprayed it on rinse it off. You might even have to scrub it a little bit with a broom push broom or something like that and then let it dry. Put a coat of Cool Seal a nice light coat. Let it dry and then put your second coat on top of that. if you have any leaks now, you might have to do other things
I can attest to savings after I coated my soda can roof last year. 10 to 15 % less! Coat those roofs!

Great video, but a couple of questions for you.
1. Will the owners of that mobile home be using a ventless system for their plumbing at all. If not, how would the venting be done now that the rubber roof is in place?
2. If someone who owns a single wide did this themselves how would they do the metal work without the metal brake that you have?
3. Lastly, have you ever thought about putting together a how to book showing how all that you and Paul do using stills from your videos with the steps written down?

The ventless pipes are under the sink of your kitchen your bathroom you don’t have to put them on the roof anymore. Lowes sells the eventless piece that you just install under your sink.
I’ve never thought about writing it down, but some of my videos do have descriptions that show the step-by-step

Another great video. I have EP Henry on my trailer roof so I appreciate the information about covering it with Cool Seal. I have a room built onto the trailer that is the same size as the trailer. The room has black rolled roofing material that has tiny white stones in it. My question for you today is can I apply EP Henry on top of that? I appreciate any information that you can provide. Yes, you can coat that with O’Henry. That’s a good product roll it on will be great and thanks for enjoying my music.
Would it be okay to use Cool Seal instead of EP Henry? I'm thinking put a thin coat of Cool Seal on the trailer and EP Henry on the room roof and next year put Cool Seal on the room roof. If possible I would like to eliminate the EP Henry and just Cool Seal both roofs.
Yes, definitely you can Cool Seal over the other product. I like Cool Seal better good luck you can do it.

I had a guy who supposedly rehabs mobile homes give me a quote for coating my 2002 Oakwood with the original metal roof that had never been coated. There were about 4 places where rust had started a few inches long on the seam covers and I thought it was about time to coat it. The actual roof has no rust at all except over the seams. I questioned him how he walks on the roof and he said you have to walk directly on the seams as that's where the rafter boards are. I'm glad I have watched your videos or I would probably have hired him and had all my seams busted.
Wow, the seam is the last place you want to step unless there is a rafter under it thank goodness you watched my video he would’ve ruined your roof
