Great job guys very good way to fix that roof I would like to do that in my mom's home ,like how much did it cost it the whole job ,thanks guys ,love it
Looks great! This was not who ever commented first about being their grandparents house… it was my great great great great great second removed uncle’s cousins sisters older blind nephew’s house
Sorry, but no sir. This mobile home was put down in Oak Island in 1981 by in-laws. Before this mobile home was put on this lot, it was wooded. So, apparently you have the wrong location.
Glad you enjoyed it Sorry that you don’t get shout, outs or abuse on your channel for your shout outs. I deal with the same thing. Best thing you can do is just quit doing shout outs.
Great Work Brother as always!!! Have you ever tried using 29ga painted steel coil instead of aluminum? I use it all the time for fascia here in Tennessee
Great video, but quick question for you. When you do a rubber roof are all of the vents eliminated or just rerouted? I’ve never seen anyone put back in the venting that they had beforehand. Do some of the customers that you have change certain things to eliminate the pipes up top? Things changing from gas to electric in some appliances like the furnace or going an on demand water heater. Either way, I enjoyed the video and am always learning something new about these houses. :)
Plumbing events can all be removed. If you notice when we started there was only two plumbing vents and one bathroom vent. The only thing we removed was the plumbing vent we put the bathroom vent back is the exhaust fan for the bathroom other than that in my area, most mobile homes don’t have any vents.
What did yall anchor to to hold the deck down, whats under the original roof? What are the original rafters? This does look like a good system, I've always been unsure about how to anchor to the original.
do you think a mobile with 1x2 ceiling joists and rafters could support adding plywood sheathing on top? there is not any currently. only metal panels. I think before you said it would strengthen it but I wanted to make sure I understood correctly. thanks again.
I’ve done it before I always check the Mobile Home to make sure the floor Joyce go across the frame and I always check to make sure there are no wires in the attic because I have clearly made videos of older mobile homes with wires on top of the one by twos if that’s the case, don’t put a plywood roof up there
I HAVE A SINGLEWIDE WITH A METAL ROOF THAT NEEDS REPLACED...CAN I PUT THE NEW METAL DIRECTLY ONTOP OF THE EXISTING METAL OR DO I HAVE TO REMOVE IT...THANX
I had a trailer like this one and added new building material not able to find exact replacement material. New roof, flooring, and some drywall. Two months in the frame bent or twisted?
They are one by threes and you can buy them at Lowe’s in bundles. I believe of 88 to a pack maybe six to a pack 8 foot long each the reason why I use them is because they are perfect for my project and they are way cheaper than one by fours, like less than half
The weight is being distributed all across the roof. It will actually make the roof stronger, not weaker the weight on a house that is 14 x 60 is next to nothing.
We have been doing this for over 20 years so it’s not actually my first rodeo. I’ve done a whole bunch of them and my customers always agree to my filming. It’s what I do. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what we did.
You know anyone in Hampton Roads (Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Hampton cities of Virginia) who does this? I have a relative who needs a new roof and I can't get out there to help them do it.
The termination bar looks too industrial for a residential home. Fabricate gutter apron over the fascia metal and strip it in with epdm 6” cover strip. Looks great other than that. Good job
I’m not a fan of 6 inch cover tape. I think it will fail overtime that’s why I fold the rubber over the edge and install termination bar. Yes it does look industrial but it works better than cover. Tape cover tape will fail I promise.
Mueller R panel can go on 0.47 in 12 pitch but you’d have to create a peak. Sheets won’t bend that far. Plus this rubber is probably a lot less expensive than good metal 👍🏽👍🏽
If you will do a contract for payments, I have a reroof job for you in Kansas. Contact me if you can do payments on a 16 x 80 mobile home. I want to re-ply the subsurrface and put on steel panel roof. We have a high wind load and shingles wont last more that 2-3 years before they tear out from the wind. PM ME.
It looks great!! This is my parent's mobile home. Thank you so much!
Your parents are amazing. They are now my good friends and they won’t have any problems with leaking anymore.
Do you have a number for these guys
For me it is the best learning experience I have ever had, greetings from Nebraska 😊
Great to hear!
Excellent how to vid....thanks! I guess if you dont have a metal brake and would rather not use wood, one can use PVC moldings and trim?
Great tip!
Great job!!! Guys

Amazing... I love it! It turned out great.

Thanks for watching! Thanks for always watching. You’re the best.
Outstanding! Here in florida it would need a coat of white or the heat would drive up cooling bills. But great video!
Right on
Drew, you and your guys are frigging pro! Looks like you'd be a pleasure to work with. Are you in southern Ohio by chance?

Instead of metal or oil painted wood, we commonly use slotted (to avoid expansion rippling) vinyl facia and trim.
Interesting

Not yet! I’ve never tried that before. I’m working on one now video coming out this morning.

Its much more rugged than aluminum
Aluminum coil is getting expensive
Yes it is.
Perfect

Great job can you please tell me where you bought the rubber roll

Will this stop the roof from sinking in when you walk on it this worries me with snow in these Minnesota winters.
Yes it will. It is the best mobile home roof I have ever video

Trailers are made out of flimsy 2x3 inch framing lumber. The best way is to build a self supporting “pole barn” around the trailer.
Watching my videos will help

Not sure you can put metal roof on such a low slope

I don’t put metal
how would you do the same style of roof but with a angle step down and a fire place stack
I might have a couple videos on that
I am new to this type of work, how long will a rubber roof last ?
30 plus yrs
I had a trailer like this one and added new building material not able to find exact replacement material. New roof, flooring, and some drywall. Two months in the frame bent or twisted?
O no
Where is the best place to get the EPDM? How many mils thick should it be and what is the average lifespan? Great video. Super helpful.
Watch the video.
This is where I buy all my material

How does the rubber hold up in Montana snow and ice.
30+ years easily any type of weather, Florida, Maine, California
Looks awesome. Do you glue the epdm?
Yes I do!
If you don't mind me asking, what size wood did you use for strapping?
They are one by threes and you can buy them at Lowe’s in bundles. I believe of 88 to a pack maybe six to a pack 8 foot long each the reason why I use them is because they are perfect for my project and they are way cheaper than one by fours, like less than half
I strapped mine with 2x4 and used R panel metal total cost for a 14’x70’ $ 2200
Wow
Where do you get the rubber?
ABC Supply store
How much does it cost to get a new roof done on a single wide mobile home
It’s according how big your house is but normally I would say between eight or $10,000 for a good contractor to do a good job
What about the added weight?
The weight is being distributed all across the roof. It will actually make the roof stronger, not weaker the weight on a house that is 14 x 60 is next to nothing.
whos home did you use for the video and did they get a drews discount for being a demo home:)

Yeah I would use metal roofing it would probably last longer.
I’m not so sure about that and how do you put a metal roof on a flat surface?
The termination bar looks too industrial for a residential home. Fabricate gutter apron over the fascia metal and strip it in with epdm 6” cover strip. Looks great other than that. Good job
I’m not a fan of 6 inch cover tape. I think it will fail overtime that’s why I fold the rubber over the edge and install termination bar. Yes it does look industrial but it works better than cover. Tape cover tape will fail I promise.
Why don't you use sheet metal like is used on metal b buildings ????????????
You can’t put metal on a roof that doesn’t have a pitch
Mueller R panel can go on 0.47 in 12 pitch but you’d have to create a peak. Sheets won’t bend that far. Plus this rubber is probably a lot less expensive than good metal 👍🏽👍🏽
