Drew, I will say this, you sure do know how to work on Mobile homes! You are the mobile home king! You have the best content on TH-cam for these projects. It’s hard to find an expert to do these repairs. I lived in a mobile home a long time ago and they sure are different. It was a bout 1995 and I got in on that lawsuit over the plumbing. A group of workers from North Carolina were working their way through Louisiana replacing all the plumbing under the home. It only took them 1 day. They were fast and I never had an issue with leaks after that. Do you remember that whole ordeal?

I did my mobile home roof , I used TSP to clean stains , 14 inch Perdy paint roller , $ 135.00 Henry 12 year guarantee white ellastomeric roof coat
That is the best way to do it
I live in a 1970's mobile home,and one thing I see people doing that I never do is walking around on the Roof.I think someone did that in the Bathroom area,and the area looks damaged compared to the rest of the Roof,and it leaks there too.There really too flimsy built to walk on.I would be afraid of it leaking all over if I did that.Mine hasn't been coated in years and is way over due.
I would try doing it off a ladder just lean the ladder up against the house, clean it off the best you can blower broom whatever you have to do from the edge not from getting on top and then get a paint roller with a long handle and do it that way I hope that helps

I’ll tell you this if it’s a good crew they’re always gonna do a good job if it’s not such a good crew if you watch them, they will do a good job for the most part. They don’t want you seeing them do something stupid

I am in southwest florida, thanks to Ian I'm still having issues with leaks. Even after paying for some "experts" to coat my roof because I can't afford a whole new roof; which by the way, what you said about how to properly apply the coats,and about how to walk on a mobile home roof; well these 3 guys got up there and gave it only one supposedly thick coat..... just unbelievable, it's no wonder my roof still leaks and in places where it wasn't before. anyway, thanks again for all you have done and continue to do. Thanks for the video I just had a guy come by in my house mobile. I have a 1400 square foot mobile home. He said he'd do the whole roof do you just pass them through the neighborhood? He could do it for $600. You only hit 15 gallon bucket. And you said you could do it in one I realit was that i was getting probably scammed.
I thought it should be rolled on. You said he didn't do the roof edges. Either which mine Show mold And wear on them All I can say I'm glad I didn't tell him go ahead and do it.Thank you.Wish you were in this neck of the woods
If he is not going to get up there and wash the edges clean the mold off paint the edges first obviously then you need to hire somebody that will do that. He is a scammer and it sounds like he only wants to do the part, but is he gonna wash it first that would be one of my questions, and just the fact that he’s not gonna clean the edges throw me off right there for your comments I agree with you. He’s a scammer.
@@DrewsroofingandhomerepairI never walk on Mine.There built way to cheap and Flimsy for the weight of an Adult.The area that is leaking looks like someone has been on top of it walking around too.I've taken out Windows and siding from mine and covered it with new metal so I know it's super thin with no 2×4's.

Well, since covid is over, I really feel you should come to Amboy Washington to fix my 5th wheel roof. I just found you, but im not seeing where you do RV's? I figure it's close enough to a mobile home since its stationary 😉😂 Bonus: Im right by a huge lake, couple hundred feet or so & we have a great community here. Yes, there is nothing wrong with that. Just make sure you put it on two coats and make sure your surfaces prepped first.

Drew can you use this over the rubber roof. I think mine is getting worn because a lot of condensation comes dripping off some days after it rains and in the summer it’s bloody hot in here. 60 degrees outside and 82 in the trailer.

Whats the best coating for sealing leaks on an asphalt roof?
None you cannot seal an asphalt roof with anything it will create condensation underneath and rot. Trust me. You don’t want to replace all the plywood on your roof. If you put Cool Seal on shingles you’ll be replacing plywood. Please don’t do it.

I just bought some a roof sealer and the guy told me I only needed one 5 gal bucket for a 14x 70 trailer but it's saying that it does less square footage is that okay to use or will I need another one?

I always go with whatever the customer wants to do if they want Rubber Roof I will put a rubber roof up there. If they want Cool Seal, I will do my best job I can and put Cool Seal up there so it’s all according to what they want.
I have a leak on my mobile home and I need to seal. Is it true your not supposed to step on the roof??
You’re not supposed to step on the roof unless you know what you’re doing like I do and Paula also we know how to walk on the roof. You can do it if you’re very careful and you know how.
Looks like KoolSeal only has a 7 year warranty. Lanco makes something similar ( Ultra Siliconizer ) that has a 15 year warranty for not all that much more money. Is there a reason you prefer KoolSeal? For 3 times the money Lanco makes one that is 100% silicone and has a 25 year warranty. Any thoughts on this? I am 69 years old and it's going to be hard work for me and I would like to only have to do it once.
Absolutely if you can find that hundred percent silicone coating use it I like your idea I use the seven year because around here it won’t last seven years trust me, but you have to coat every three years around here because of the extreme heat heavy rain

For everything on this job I charged $850 because it’s my friend. Normally it would be about 1000 for everything. This was the second step. The first step was power washing. I hope you watched that video prepping.

It’s because you’re walking on Metal thin metal and it makes noise when you walk on it

How much do you charge to do a room mine leaks badly on a mobile home and I’m low income and disabled and unsure if I could do it myself most quotes I’ve gotten have been 1000-5000$ in local area and I just can’t afford it we have black mold and I just wanna get rid of it
You have to fix the leak first. I charge 800 to koolseal a roof. 2 coats. I charge 1000 per bedroom. I charge around 14. To 15 to do a living room. Starting a whole house on monday

Yes. You can. But remember it’s thicker then paint
I have stepped on the seams of my metal roof, I didn't know I wasn't suppose to. I didn't fall thru the roof, but what damage could/did by stepping on it.... I'm worried.

I never ever put my foot in between two rafters ever. I’m not sure what you’re watching, but I would never put my foot in between two rafters. It’s the wrong way to do it

You only change a 1000 for the entire roof, plus you pressure wash it also

You can make it as thick as you want to put one coat up there every 24 to 48 hours until it says thick as you want it to be you would be amazed how thick it can be made
You want to use a18 " roller see how your Breaking that little one down.
The bigger one will do a better job.
