As a marine biology fan, I would be all over the all the creatures with the scanner. When he was saying hi to Sancho I was just mentally screaming, "SCAN IT."

As a student nearing the end of my degree in marine biology, I scanned absolutely every critter and plant I was able to, and I can't wait to do the same thing in Below Zero

Mark, Sancho is harmless. I'd almost equate him with a blue whale if I had to think of a real world equivalent. Second, if you were to create a welder, not only could you fix your sea moth, you would be able to fix the cracks in the Aurora and decrease the radiation. Please like this so Mark can see. I'm not doing this cause I want recognition, I just want to help him out.

MARK If you wanna know how to get Crash Powder, the wiki is correct, BUT If you leave the RENDERING AREA (where you cannot see the plant it comes out from) then the powder will not spawn. It is STILL EARLY DEVELOPMENT and they are working on enhancing rendering distance, but until then you gotta bait AND stay near that plant for it to spawn. Also I do believe it is chance based. So you will have to come back to respawn the Crash fish and start over from time to time. But as a Subnautica player, I have gotten crash powder out of them.
FURTHERMORE You can use the STASIS RIFLE once discovered and crafted, to stun them temporarily, steal the powder, and get the hell out of dodge.

+Vyse Arcadia *Confirmed!* I tried seven or eight times to kite the crash fish and then stun them with my stasis rifle to avoid the blast, but that took me too far away from the crash plant for crash powder to spawn. However, when I stay near the plant and take the hit from the crash fish explosion, crash powder spawns inside the crash plant. Taking the hit and staying in range, crash powder spawned twice in a row for me.
+Vyse Arcadia Thats not the issue, the issue is that it is "Sometimes", also the rendering area is pretty big.

You're not doing anything wrong, mark, that is indeed how you find crash powder. However, it is a *CHANCE* of it showing up. it's not a 100% thing, you just got jipped the few times you checked the plant.

Okay, with the welder you'll be able to fix the Seamoth, Mark. The modification station is NOT for the Seamoth - that's the moon pool. What the modification station does is upgrade your carried items - improved air capacity tanks, diamond-hardened survival knife, etc. It's really handy - when you make it, upgrade your air tank ASAP. Also, if you plan to go on deep cavern trips again soon, you'll want a rebreather. It cancels the extra O2 use penalty for being over 200m depth.

Hmmm that has to be a bug with the crash fish because you did exactly what you're supposed to do (collect the crash powder from the plant once the fish does the whole annoying kamikaze blow itself up routine...which from an evolutionary standpoint is stupid- how does defending itself by killing itself benefit the animal? >_> ). Also the power upgrade you got from the Aurora (which you still need to repair the engine room radiation leaks with a welder btw) is for the cyclops submarine (which is what needs the plasteel ingots and advanced wiring system are for), not the seamoth. The modification station isn't for the seamoth, it's to craft advanced oxygen tanks, knives, diving suits, ect. To upgrade the seamoth you need to craft a moon pool docking building. And the big animals (Sancho!) are called Reefbacks; they're harmless. They're essentially the whales of Subnautica.
+Margi Fisher yeah, I don't know if it's a bug or not, with the crash powder not being there. I've encountered some that didn't have any powder, but then some that did, in one area where there were multiple. I dunno.
Evolution is arbitrary, it doesn't work systematically. Even if evolution is still just a theory, that fish blowing itself up could work through the eyes of the evolutionary process...but for no goddamn reason. That's why us humans have many flaws, and many other animals as well.
+MissRed well I made a new game today and i found 2x crash powder and i got the moonpool form the fragments. They fixed this apparently. Mybe it also depends on if you play the experimental version, because i don't.

+Sara Skysear The developers originally intended to make it a multiplayer co-op experience, but due to challenges early on, they decided to focus on a singleplayer aspect first. They still want to eventually make it multiplayer. In order to do so, however, they would pretty much have to rework the entire game. That would take a LOT of time away from pushing out other updates, so it's undecided when they'll get around to it.
I hope that this publicity from Markiplier and other TH-camrs will increase their Early Access sales so they can afford to hire more people and be able to consider multiplayer again.

I'm unsure if Mark will see this comment, but I can't just sit around and watch Mark play this amazing game with no idea what's happening (though that can be funny). I'm not spoiling anything, but you need a moonpool to upgrade a seamoth because you can't place the semoth upgrade station anywhere else. Moonpool fragments can only be found in the Grand Reef biome. The Grand Reef is directly behind the Aurora. You want to make a Cyclops and give it hull reinforcement modules so you can at least go past 800 meters. If you don't know, a Cyclops is basically a submerine that has a docking station on it for your semoth. I'd also recomend putting solar panels on top of your Cyclops whenever you build. I also left out some things for you to find out.
