- Japan is known around for the world for manufacturing some of the funnest toys, and Tokyo has lots of great toy stores. In this video I'll show you what I consider to be the best toy stores in Tokyo Japan. I'll show you inside the stores, and how to get to each toy store.

Thank God we found this. Since were going to Japan this August this Channel helped us alot in locations, food, etc. (We used this to Brainstorm to!).
If you're looking for plastic models kits and hobby supplies, Akihabara can't be beat. Yodobashi is amazing and has anything you could want. Yellow Submarine and Volks are awesome as well. All of them are close to the station too.
Nakano Broadway is pretty cool too :)

I'm looking for something specific - those rubber band powered model airplane kits like you see in the Totoro movie. I wonder if they exist anymore. We actually had Miyazaki -sensei on an online interview section and I asked him if he built such models and he said he did, except he had to modify them with extra wings and such.

Would I be able to find Speed Racer stuff? What was Voltron called in Japan? When I was in grade school in 1983 I would run home from school to watch those cartoons.

As I mentioned in my comment above, the best place to find vintage toys is at Nakano Broadway which is across from JR Nakano Station. It's a massive mall chock full of little shops containing vintage toys, games, movies, books, manga, etc... there are some other places located around Tokyo, but Nakano Broadway is the best with the most options all in one place.
TOKYO TOY BASTARD are bearbricks only being sold in medicom store? i'm going to japan but will only able visit ginza and shinsaibashi ㅠㅠ
Ayu Nandini - you can find Bearbricks in various shops within Nakano Broadway, also at shops like Book-Off.
is there a place in tokyo called character alley or street (suppose to have many shops) that sells vintage bullmark and marusan?

Awesome. I pretty much went to all those stores. I often go to yamashiroya and yodobashi. As a kid i used to go to kiddyland though that building was renovated. Hakuhinkan was the one i mentioned to you before which is by far the best toy store i have seen in japan though not in the most convenient location. Tokyo station in the basement can count too in a way but a bit of a mess due to the many many shops. I went to nakano last week and its been awhile since ive been there. Its not as good as it used to be sadly. But a great place for tourists to visit.

I actually went to The Gundam Base in Diver City, which is in Odaiba. As you can guess, there are lots of Gunpla being sold there, there are even Gunpla exclusive to there. Also, if you go to Diver City's festival plaza, you can see a life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue. However, the Gunpla being sold there aren't very cheap.
There's another location where you can buy cheaper Gunpla. It's a department store in Shinjuku called 'LABI'. The Gunpla being sold there are cheaper.

Hi Terry -- the tax free shopping is really simple in Japan. It's all done at the store you bought the stuff from. There's nothing you have to do at the airport. Just tell the store you're a visitor and you'd like tax free. Each store does it a little differently. Some have a specific cash register you need to buy from. Others make you pay the whole thing. Then give you a refund. It varies.

I always use the ATM in Japan to get Yen. 7-11 Convenience store ATMs always take international cards

I been to Japan a lot of times, and man, their toy stores are light-years better than the US. What do we have in the US? Oh yeah, Toy's-R-Us, a cheapo corporate store that sells low-quality, overrated brands, and overpriced cheaply knock-off toys.
